Abstract:With a sophisticated effective gluon propagator, Maris-Tandy model, we solve the Dyson-Schwinger equation to get the quark propagator and then study the soliton solution in the global color model (GCM). Along the constraints on the parameters fitted to the pion decay constant, we take several sets of parameters and find that some of the properties of soliton can be produced in the GCM soliton model with a special choice of parameters. We also discuss the influences of the parameters and the ultraviolet perturbative term on the property of the soliton. We find that the interaction among quarks is the one with self-adjusting characteristic and only the fine-tuned interaction can generate an appropriate solition, but not that much stronger attraction produces more stable soliton.
Can $1/N_c$ corrections be treated in the Pomeron calculus?

Abstract:The main goal of the paper is to show that we can treat the $1/N_c$ QCD corrections in the Pomeron calculus. We develop the one dimensional model which is a simplification of the QCD approach that includes $\pom \to 2 \pom$, $2 \pom \to \pom$ and $ 2 \pom \to 2 \pom$ vertices and gives the description of the high energy interaction, both in the framework of the parton cascade and in the Pomeron calculus. In this model we show that the scattering amplitude can be written as the sum of Green's function of $n$ Pomeron exchanges $G_{n \pom} \propto e^{ \omega_n \Y}$ with $\omega_n =\kappa\,n^2$ at $\kappa \ll 1$. This means that choosing $\kappa = 1/N^2_c$ we can reproduce the intercepts of QCD in $1/N_c$ order. The scattering amplitude is an asymptotic series that cannot be sum using Borel approach. We found a general way of summing such series. In addition to the positive eigenvalues we found the set of negative eigenvalues which corresponds to the partonic description of the scattering amplitude. Using Abramowsky, Gribov and Kancheli cutting rules we found the multiplicity distributions of the produced dipoles as well as their entropy $S_E$.

Abstract:The chiral quark soliton model (CQSM) is one of the most successful models of baryons at quark level, which maximally incorporates the most important feature of low energy QCD, i.e. the chiral symmetry and its spontaneous breakdown. Basically, it is a relativistic mean-field theory with full account of infinitely many Dirac-sea quarks in a rotational-symmetry-breaking mean field of hedgehog shape. The numerical technique established so far enables us to make a nonperturbative evaluation of Casimir effects (i.e. effects of vacuum-polarized Dirac sea) on a variety of baryon observables. This incompatible feature of the model manifests most clearly in its predictions for parton distribution functions of the nucleon. In this talk, after briefly reviewing several basic features of the CQSM, we plan to demonstrate in various ways that this unique model of baryons provides us with an ideal tool for disentangling nonperturbative aspect of the internal partonic structure of the nucleon, especially the underlying spin structure function of the nucleon.

Abstract:We study forward and backward pi-pi scattering within a QCD model based on the Dyson--Schwinger, Bethe--Salpeter equations truncated to the rainbow-ladder level. Our microscopic relativistic quark formulation preserves chiral symmetry and reproduces the observed scattering lengths for total isospin zero, one and two. At higher energies both scalar and vector meson resonances naturally occur in the scattering amplitudes. We also report a comparative study with phenomenological meson-exchange models and find such approaches are reasonable especially near pi-pi resonances.

Abstract:We introduce a system combining the quadratic self-attractive or composite quadratic-cubic nonlinearity, acting in the combination with the fractional diffraction, which is characterized by its Lévy index $\alpha $. The model applies to a gas of quantum particles moving by Lévy flights, with the quadratic term representing the Lee-Huang-Yang correction to the mean-field interactions. A family of fundamental solitons is constructed in a numerical form, while the dependence of its norm on the chemical potential characteristic is obtained in an exact analytical form. The family of \textit{quasi-Townes solitons}, appearing in the limit case of $\alpha =1/2$, is investigated by means of a variational approximation. A nonlinear lattice, represented by spatially periodical modulation of the quadratic term, is briefly addressed too. The consideration of the interplay of competing quadratic (attractive) and cubic (repulsive) terms with a lattice potential reveals families of single-, double-, and triple-peak gap solitons (GSs) in two finite bandgaps. The competing nonlinearity gives rise to alternating regions of stability and instability of the GS, the stability intervals shrinking with the increase of the number of peaks in the GS.

Fermion-soliton scattering in a modified $\mathbb{CP}^{1}$ model

Abstract:The scattering of fermions in the background field of a topological soliton of the modified $(2 + 1)$-dimensional $\mathbb{CP}^{1}$ model is studied here both analytically and numerically. Unlike the original $\mathbb{CP}^{1}$ model, the Lagrangian of the modified model contains a potential term. Due to this, a dilatation zero mode of the topological soliton disappears, which results in stability of the fermion-soliton system. The symmetry properties of the fermion-soliton system are established, and the asymptotic forms of fermionic radial wave functions are studied. Questions related to the bound states of the fermion-soliton system are then discussed. General formulae describing the scattering of fermions are presented. The amplitudes of the fermion-soliton scattering are obtained in an analytical form within the framework of the Born approximation, and their symmetry properties and asymptotic forms are studied. The energy levels of the fermionic bound states and the partial phase shifts of fermionic scattering are obtained by numerical methods, and the ultrarelativistic limits of the partial phase shifts are found.

Abstract:QCD thermodynamics is studied using a model which combines Polyakov loop dynamics with spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking and its restoration (the PNJL model). The input is fixed entirely by pure-gauge lattice QCD results and by pion properties in vacuum. Successful comparisons with results from thermal lattice QCD are achieved, including extrapolations to finite quark chemical potential. The phase diagram and selected susceptibilities for two quark flavors are investigated with inclusion of diquark degrees of freedom.

Abstract:SU(5) gauge theory with massless left-handed fermions in the representation 5+15+40+45* (QUD) may have a bound-state S-Matrix that, uniquely, contains the asymptotically unitary Critical Pomeron and which might also reproduce the full Standard Model. If so, QUD would provide an underlying unification for the Standard Model in which very similar massless fermion anomaly dynamics is responsible for the physics of the strong and electroweak interactions and all particle masses are generated dynamically. The color sextet quark sector, responsible for both electroweak symmetry-breaking and dark matter in QUD, is predicted to produce large cross-section effects at the LHC, with the pomeron as a vital diagnostic - via TOTEM/CMS and FP420. In this talk, the multi-regge construction of high-energy QUD amplitudes is outlined as is, briefly, the LHC pomeron physics. Surrounding motivational issues (particularly outstanding QCD problems) and consequences are also discussed. The S-Matrix anomaly physics is conceptually and philosophically radical with respect to the current theory paradigm. As a consequence, QUD could provide a welcome way out of the current ``Crisis in Fundamental Physics'' with, potentially, it's novel physical applicability resolving a variety of Standard Model and, perhaps also, cosmology problems - it has zero vacuum energy.

BFKL pomeron in the external field of the nucleus in (2+1)-dimensional QCD

Abstract:The behaviour of the pomeron propagator in the external nuclear field is studied in the (2+1)-dimensional QCD. It is shown that in the physically interesting case when the field does not vanish at large rapidities the propagator in the field vanishes much faster than in the vacuum, in agreement with the results found in the local Regge-Gribov model. However if the nuclear field vanishes at high rapidities the field does not change the behaviour of the pomeron propagator.

Abstract:The complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg–Landau equation (CQGLE) is a universal model for describing a dissipative system, especially fiber laser. The analytic one-soliton solution of the variable-coefficients CQGLE is calculated by a modified Hirota method. Then, phenomena of soliton pulses splitting and stable bound states of two solitons are investigated. Moreover, rectangular dissipative soliton pulses of the variable-coefficients CQGLE are realized and controlled effectively in the theoretical research for the first time, which breaks through energy limitation of soliton pulses and is expected to provide theoretical basis for preparation of high-energy soliton pulses in fiber lasers.

Abstract:Recent inspection of liquid-like state in ultracold atomic gases due to the stabilization mechanism through the delicate balance between effective mean-field and beyond mean-field (BMF) interactions, has motivated us to study the modified/extended Gross-Pitaevskii (eGP) equation which includes the BMF contribution. In this article, we focus on variational analysis of solitonic regime with eGP equation while the soliton is subjected to an obstacle. This reveals different scattering scenarios of the soliton with explicit dependence of the BMF interaction. The results show the existence of tunneling, partial and complete trappings, in different parameter domains. These observations are further corroborated by the fast-Fourier transform method. In the later part we also extend our analysis to trapped systems. The controlled trapping in defect potential and its release can be potentially useful for quantum information storage.

Abstract:We show that the single quasi-particle Schrödinger equation for a certain form of one-body potential yields a stationary one soliton solution. The one-body potential is assumed to arise from the self- interacting charge distribution with the singular kernel of the Calogero-Sutherland model. The quasi-particle has negative or positive charge for negative or positive coupling constant of the interaction. The magnitude of the charge is unity only for the semion. It is also pointed out that for repulsive coupling, our equation is mathematically the same as the steady-state Smoluchowski equation of Dyson's Coulomb gas model.

Abstract:A systematic study is made of the non-perturbative effects in quantum chromodynamics. The basic object is the two-point functions of various currents. At large Euclidean momenta q the non-perturbative contributions induce a series in (μ2/q2) where μ is some typical hadronic mass. The terms of this series are shown to be of two distinct types. The first few of them are connected with vacuum fluctuations of large size, and can be consistently accounted for within the Wilson operator expansion. On the other hand, in high orders small-size fluctuations show up and the high-order terms do not reduce (generally speaking) to the vacuum-to-vacuum matrix elements of local operators. This signals the breakdown of the operator expansion. The corresponding critical dimension is found. We propose a Borel improvement of the power series. On one hand, it makes the two-point functions less sensitive to high-order terms, and on the other hand, it transforms the standard dispersion representation into a certain integral representation with exponential weight functions. As a result we obtain a set of the sum rules for the observable spectral densities which correlate the resonance properties to a few vacuum-to-vacuum matrix elements. As the last bid to specify the sum rules we estimate the matrix elements involved and elaborate several techniques for this purpose.

Solitons in a photonic nonlinear quantum walk: lessons from the continuum

Abstract:We analyse a nonlinear QW model which can be experimentally implemented using the components of the electric field on an optical nonlinear Kerr medium, which translates into a rotation in the coin operator, with an angle which depends (in a nonlinear fashion) on the state of the walker. This simple dependence makes it easy to consider the space-time continuum limit of the evolution equation, which takes the form of a nonlinear Dirac equation. The analysis of this continuum limit allows us, under some approximations, to gain some insight into the nature of soliton structures, which is illustrated by our numerical calculations. These solitons are stable structures whose trajectories can be modulated by choosing the appropriate initial conditions. We have also studied the stability of solitons when they are subject to an additional phase that simulates an external electric field, and also explored if they are formed in higher dimensional spaces.

Abstract:Recently, it was shown that zero modes in semiclassical soliton models do not lead to Yukawa couplings. We show that taking into account the contributions of the quantum soliton into the renormalization scheme, which cannot be done in semiclassical treatments, leads to a Yukawa coupling. A similar analysis should be possible for the Skyrmion, renewing the hope, that this model will lead to a correct description of hadron physics.

Abstract:We apply the Chiral Quark-Soliton Model used previously to describe baryons with one heavy quark to the case of heavy tetraquarks. We argue, that the model is insenstive to the nature of the heavy object bound by the soliton, i.e. to its mass and spin. Therefore, a heavy quark can be replaced by an anti-diquark without modifying the soliton background. Diquark dynamics is taken into account by means of the nonrelarivistic Schrödinger equation with the Cornell potential. We fix the Cornell potential parameters from the charmonia and bottomia spectra. We first compute $B_c$ meson masses to check our fitting procedure, and then compute diquark masses by appropriately rescaling color factors in the Cornell potential. We ten compute tetraquark masses and confirm previous findings that only $bb$ tetraquarks are bound.

Soliton resolution for Calogero--Moser derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation

Abstract:We consider soliton resolution for the Calogero--Moser derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (CM-DNLS). A rigorous PDE analysis of (CM-DNLS) was recently initiated by Gérard and Lenzmann, who demonstrated its Lax pair structure. Additionally, (CM-DNLS) exhibits several symmetries, such as mass-criticality with pseudo-conformal symmetry and a self-dual Hamiltonian. Despite its integrability, finite-time blow-up solutions have been constructed. The purpose of this paper is to establish soliton resolution for both finite-time blow-up solutions and global solutions in a fully general setting, \emph{without imposing radial symmetry or size constraints}. To our knowledge, this is the first non-integrable proof of full soliton resolution for Schrödinger-type equations. A key aspect of our proof is the control of the energy of the outer radiation after extracting a soliton, referred to as the \emph{energy bubbling} estimate. This benefits from two levels of convervation laws, mass and energy, and self-duality. This approach allows us to directly prove continuous-in-time soliton resolution, bypassing time-sequential soliton resolution. Importantly, our proof does not rely on the integrability of the equation, potentially offering insights applicable to other non-integrable models.

Abstract:Following the observation of the fully heavy tetraquark candidates X(6900) and possible X(6300) in the di- J/ψ spectrum by the LHCb Collaboration, we investigate the near-threshold dynamics of the pseudoscalar quarkonium pairs in a coupled-channel approach in the di- ηc channel. We show that the Pomeron exchange mechanism should be a general dynamics in the near-threshold heavy quarkonium pair interactions. In the di- ηc channel, a coupled-channel system involving the di- ηc , ηc−ηc(2S) and di- ηc(2S) interactions can be established. Their S -wave interactions near threshold via the Pomeron exchange potential can produce near-threshold resonance poles similar to the di- J/ψ , J/ψ−ψ(2S) , and di- ψ(2S) coupled channels. Interestingly, we find here that the pole positions are more shifted to the corresponding thresholds and turn out to be different from those seen in the di- J/ψ spectrum. Taking into account the suppression of the heavy quark spin flips in the transitions between two vector and two pseudoscalar heavy quarkonium systems, the enhancements in the di- ηc spectrum should be different from those seen in the di- J/ψ channel. Abstract:We cautiously review the treatment of pentaquark exotic baryons in chiral soliton models. We consider two examples and argue that any consistent and self-contained description must go beyond the mean field approximation that only considers the classical soliton and the canonical quantization of its (would-be) zero modes via collective coordinates.

Abstract:We study the interaction of two discrete pomeron fields while considering mass mixing and the general structure of the interaction potential for pomerons within the framework for a functional renormalization group analysis of Reggeon field theory. We find fixed points from the zeros of the beta function establishing the existence of three groups of solutions: the first corresponds to two uncoupled pomerons, the second is a solution known as a “pomeron–odderon” interaction, and the final is a real general solution with an interaction potential. We also study its universal properties around this fixed point. This analysis allows for a discussion for the first time on the mixing of two pomerons through renormalization flow paths from the ultraviolet to the non-perturbative infrared regions. Finally, we comment on its role in high-energy scattering.
