Abstract:In this study, we examine the statistics of level spectra in a noninteracting electron gas confined to a Sierpinski carpet lattice. These lattices are constructed using two types of the self and gene patterns, and they are categorized by the area-perimeter scaling law. The singularly continuous spectra, along with the nearest level spacing distribution and gap-ratio distribution, reveal a critical phase different from both extended and localized phases. This critical phase differs from the behavior near the Anderson model's metal-insulator transition. The Wigner-like conjecture is confirmed for both lattice classes, indicating Gaussian orthogonal symmetry. A similar observation was made in a quasiperiodic lattice [Phys. Rev. Lett. 80, 3996 (1998)]. The self-similar nature of fractals also leads to level clustering behavior.

Abstract:We consider the $1d$ one-component plasma (OCP) in thermal equilibrium, consisting of $N$ equally charged particles on a line, with pairwise Coulomb repulsion and confined by an external harmonic potential. We study two observables: (i) the distribution of the gap between two consecutive particles in the bulk and (ii) the distribution of the number of particles $N_I$ in a fixed interval $I=[-L,+L]$ inside the bulk, the so-called full-counting-statistics (FCS). For both observables, we compute, for large $N$, the distribution of the typical as well as atypical large fluctuations. We show that the distribution of the typical fluctuations of the gap are described by the scaling form ${\cal P}_{\rm gap, bulk}(g,N) \sim N H_\alpha(g\,N)$, where $\alpha$ is the interaction coupling and the scaling function $H_\alpha(z)$ is computed explicitly. It has a faster than Gaussian tail for large $z$: $H_\alpha(z) \sim e^{-z^3/(96 \alpha)}$ as $z \to \infty$. Similarly, for the FCS, we show that the distribution of the typical fluctuations of $N_I$ is described by the scaling form ${\cal P}_{\rm FCS}(N_I,N) \sim 2\alpha \, U_\alpha[2 \alpha(N_I - \bar{N}_I)]$, where $\bar{N}_I = L\,N/(2 \alpha)$ is the average value of $N_I$ and the scaling function $U_\alpha(z)$ is obtained explicitly. For both observables, we show that the probability of large fluctuations are described by large deviations forms with respective rate functions that we compute explicitly. Our numerical Monte-Carlo simulations are in good agreement with our analytical predictions.

Abstract:By using the bosonization and renormalization group methods, we have studied the low energy physical properties in one-dimensional extended Hubbard model. The formation of charge and spin gaps is investigated at the half-filled electron band. An analytical expression for the charge gap in terms of the Coulomb repulsive interaction strength U and the nearest-neighbour interaction parameter V is obtained.

Abstract:We review some known properties of the "emptiness formation probability" correlation which we have calculated numerically for spin-1/2 XX chains with constant (homogeneous) or alternating (dimerized) nearest-neighbor coupling and an external field (in $z$ direction) for arbitrary temperature. The long-distance asymptotic behavior of this correlation is known to be Gaussian at zero temperature and exponential at finite temperature for the homogeneous chain. By simple analytical arguments the exponential behavior at finite temperature extends to the dimerized system. Numerical results for the dimerized chain confirm the exponential decay at finite temperature and show Gaussian decay at zero temperature.

Abstract:We address the problem of computing the thermodynamic properties of the repulsive one-dimensional two-component Fermi gas with contact interaction, also known as the Gaudin-Yang model. Using a specific lattice embedding and the quantum transfer matrix we derive an exact system of only two nonlinear integral equations for the thermodynamics of the homogeneous model which is valid for all temperatures and values of the chemical potential, magnetic field and coupling strength. This system allows for an easy and extremely accurate calculation of thermodynamic properties circumventing the difficulties associated with the truncation of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz system of equations. We present extensive results for the densities, polarization, magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, interaction energy, Tan contact and local correlation function of opposite spins. Our results show that at low and intermediate temperatures the experimentally accessible contact is a non-monotonic function of the coupling strength. As a function of the temperature the contact presents a pronounced local minimum in the Tonks-Girardeau regime which signals an abrupt change of the momentum distribution in a small interval of temperature. The density profiles of the system in the presence of a harmonic trapping potential are computed using the exact solution of the homogeneous model coupled with the local density approximation. We find that at finite temperature the density profile presents a double shell structure (partially polarized center and fully polarized wings) only when the polarization in the center of the trap is above a critical value which is monotonically increasing with temperature.

Abstract:We study the gap properties of nearest neighbors tight binding models on quasiperiodic chains. We argue that two kind of gaps should be distinguished: stable and transient. We show that stable gaps have a well defined quasiperiodic limit. We also show that there is a direct relation between the gap size and the gap label.

Abstract:The derivation of determinant representations for the space-, time-, and temperature-dependent correlation functions of the impenetrable Gaudin-Yang model in the presence of a trapping potential is presented. These representations are valid in both equilibrium and nonequilibrium scenarios like the ones initiated by a sudden change of the confinement potential. In the equal-time case our results are shown to be equivalent to a multicomponent generalization of Lenard's formula from which Painlevé transcendent representations for the correlators can be obtained in the case of harmonic trapping and Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions. For a system in the quantum Newton's cradle setup the determinant representations allow for an exact numerical investigation of the dynamics and even hydrodynamization which is outside the reach of Generalized Hydrodynamics or other approximate methods. In the case of a sudden change in the trap's frequency we predict a many-body bounce effect, not present in the evolution of the density profile, which causes a nontrivial periodic narrowing of the momentum distribution with amplitude depending on the statistics of the particles.

Abstract:We formulate a Swendsen-Wang-like version of the geometric cluster algorithm. As an application, we study the hard-core lattice gas on the triangular lattice with the first- and second-neighbor exclusions. The data were first analyzed by finite-size scaling without including logarithmic corrections. We determine the critical chemical potential as mu(c) = 1.756 82(2) and the critical particle density as rho(c) = 0.180(4). From the Binder ratio Q and susceptibility chi, the thermal and magnetic exponents are estimated as y(t) = 1.51(1) approximate to 3/2 and y(h) = 1.8748(8) approximate to 15/8, respectively, while the analyses of energylike quantities yield y(t) ranging from 1.440(5) to 1.470(5). Nevertheless, the data for energylike quantities are also well described by theoretically predicted scaling formulas with logarithmic corrections and with exponent y(t) = 3/2. These results are very similar to the earlier study for the four-state Potts model on the square lattice [J. Stat. Phys. 88, 567 (1997)], and strongly support the general belief that the model is in the four-state Potts universality class. The dynamic scaling behavior of the Metropolis simulation and the combined method of the Metropolis and the geometric cluster algorithm is also studied; the former has a dynamic exponent z(int) approximate to 2.21 and the latter has z(int) approximate to 1.60.
Statistic physics in bound state in 3D fermi gas system

Abstract:The bound state is treated as a long-lived quasiparticle with slow momenta and current relaxation in fermi liquid phase. In this paper, we discuss the realization of ensemble behavior in a 3D fermi gas system in non-fermi liquid phase. We reveal the relation between UV cutoff of relative momentum $\Lambda_{q}$ and its ensemble behavior. The behavior of a bound state system has rarely been investigated before, and the relation between the scattering momentum and the physics has not yet been explored before (to best of our knowledge). We found that the cutoff $\Lambda_{q}$ directly related to the distribution and statistical variance of coupling term, which becomes Gaussian variable (or Chi-square variable) in limit (i.e., with a large step number of a fractional distance $\Lambda_{q}^{-1}\rightarrow\infty$). Also, we show that the different $\Lambda_{q}^{-1}$ lending support to different phases, including non-fermi liquid phase and (disordered) fermi liquid phase, which correspond to ill-defined and well-defined bound states, respectively. The pair condensation induced by local coupling, which happen at critical temperature, would suppresses the non-fermi liquid for constant on-site coupling (it is not the case when the coupling be variant). % We deduce the free energy density and the divergent behaviors of anomalous propagator in this case. % Finally, we also present a discussion of ensembles of level statistic that depending on which symmetry class the system belongs to, and that can be controlled by the type of disorder. Further, when the range of condensation is larger, the homogeneous character will emerge and the thermalization can be observed where eigenstates with higher energy has lower overlap with the low-entangled states.

Abstract:We study here some one-dimensional (1D) disordered tight-binding models which can be constructed by randomly inserting a number of identical segments into an infinite purely periodic chain. We analytically show that under certain conditions there exist some completely unscattered states whose number is one less than the number of sites in each segment. The energies of these states are exactly determined. Some 1D models with random periods can be considered as samples of the random-segment models. The energy spectrum and unscattered wave functions of a sample model with different choices of parameters are illustrated.
On a bulk gap strategy for quantum lattice models

Abstract:Establishing the (non)existence of a spectral gap above the ground state in the thermodynamic limit is one of the fundamental steps for characterizing the topological phase of a quantum lattice model. This is particularly challenging when a model is expected to have low-lying edge excitations, but nevertheless a positive bulk gap. We review the bulk gap strategy introduced in [Warzel, Young '22] and [Warzel, Young '23] while studying truncated Haldane pseudopotentials. This approach is able to avoid low-lying edge modes by separating the ground states and edge states into different invariant subspaces before applying spectral gap bounding techniques. The approach is stated in a general context, and we reformulate specific spectral gap methods in an invariant subspace context to illustrate the necessary conditions for combining them with the bulk gap strategy. We then review its application to a truncation of the 1/3-filled Haldane pseudopotential in the cylinder geometry.

Abstract:By considering energy flow, we construct the one-dimensional (1d) model consist- ing of the quasiparticles caused by asymmetric hopping (in carrier position space) or the complex bosonic potential whose varying gradient with a chiral ordering plays the role of ingradience of quasiparticles. A bosonic potential can be generated and the chaotic dynamics of chiral excitations after disorder average can be invesitigated in the presence of gauge invariance. This feature is also shared by the well-known Non-Hermitian systems.

Gapped Spin Liquid States in a One-Dimensional Hubbard Model with Antiferromagnetic Exchange Interaction

Abstract:We study the phase diagram of a one-dimensional extended Hubbard model with antiferromagnetic exchange interaction analytically and numerically. The bosonization and transfer-matrix renormalization group methods are used in the corresponding coupling regimes. At half-filling, the system is a Mott insulator with a finite spin excitation gap if the on-site Coulomb repulsion is fairly smaller than the antiferromagnetic exchange J. This Mott insulator is characterized by the bond-charge-density-wave order or spontaneously dimerization. In the weak-coupling regime where the spin-charge separation holds approximately, the critical point separating the gapless and gapped spin liquid phases is U(c)similar toJ/2. However, as J increases, the spin-charge couplings become important and the critical point U-c is significantly suppressed and eventually tends to zero as J-->infinity. Away from half-filling, the charge gap completely collapses but the spin gap persists.

Abstract:We investigate the full counting statistics (FCS) of a harmonically confined 1d short-range Riesz gas consisting of $N$ particles in equilibrium at finite temperature. The particles interact with each other through a repulsive power-law interaction with an exponent $k>1$ which includes the Calogero-Moser model for $k=2$. We examine the probability distribution of the number of particles in a finite domain $[-W, W]$ called number distribution, denoted by $\mathcal{N}(W, N)$. We analyze the probability distribution of $\mathcal{N}(W, N)$ and show that it exhibits a large deviation form for large $N$ characterised by a speed $N^{\frac{3k+2}{k+2}}$ and by a large deviation function of the fraction $c = \mathcal{N}(W, N)/N$ of the particles inside the domain and $W$. We show that the density profiles that create the large deviations display interesting shape transitions as one varies $c$ and $W$. This is manifested by a third-order phase transition exhibited by the large deviation function that has discontinuous third derivatives. Monte-Carlo (MC) simulations show good agreement with our analytical expressions for the corresponding density profiles. We find that the typical fluctuations of $\mathcal{N}(W, N)$, obtained from our field theoretic calculations are Gaussian distributed with a variance that scales as $N^{\nu_k}$, with $\nu_k = (2-k)/(2+k)$. We also present some numerical findings on the mean and the variance. Furthermore, we adapt our formalism to study the index distribution (where the domain is semi-infinite $(-\infty, W])$, linear statistics (the variance), thermodynamic pressure and bulk modulus.

Abstract:We investigate the dynamics of a three-state stochastic lattice gas, consisting of holes and two oppositely "charged" species of particles, under the influence of an "electric" field, at zero total charge. Interacting only through an excluded volume constraint, particles can hop to nearest neighbour empty sites. Using a combination of Langevin equations and Monte Carlo simulations, we study the probability distributions of the steady-state structure factors in the disordered phase where homogeneous configurations are stable against small harmonic perturbations. Simulation and theoretical results are in excellent agreement, both showing asymmetric exponential distributions.

Level statistics of the one-dimensional dimerized Hubbard model

Abstract:The statistical properties of level spacings provide valuable insights into the dynamical properties of a many-body quantum systems. We investigate the level statistics of the Fermi-Hubbard model with dimerized hopping amplitude and find that after taking into account translation, reflection, spin and {\eta} pairing symmetries to isolate irreducible blocks of the Hamiltonian, the level spacings in the limit of large system sizes follow the distribution expected for hermitian random matrices from the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble. We show this by analyzing the distribution of the ratios of consecutive level spacings in this system, its cumulative distribution and quantify the deviations of the distributions using their mean, standard deviation and skewness.

Low temperature thermodynamics of the antiferromagnetic $J_1-J_2$ model: Entropy, critical points and spin gap

Abstract:The antiferromagnetic $J_1-J_2$ model is a spin-1/2 chain with isotropic exchange $J_1 > 0$ between first neighbors and $J_2 = \alpha J_1$ between second neighbors. The model supports both gapless quantum phases with nondegenerate ground states and gapped phases with $\Delta(\alpha) > 0$ and doubly degenerate ground states. Exact thermodynamics is limited to $\alpha = 0$, the linear Heisenberg antiferromagnet (HAF). Exact diagonalization of small systems at frustration $\alpha$ followed by density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) calculations returns the entropy density $S(T,\alpha,N)$ and magnetic susceptibility $\chi(T,\alpha,N)$ of progressively larger systems up to $N = 96$ or 152 spins. Convergence to the thermodynamics limit, $S(T,\alpha)$ or $\chi(T,\alpha)$, is demonstrated down to $T/J \sim 0.01$ in the sectors $\alpha < 1$ and $\alpha > 1$. $S(T,\alpha)$ yields the critical points between gapless phases with $S^\prime(0,\alpha) > 0$ and gapped phases with $S^\prime(0,\alpha) = 0$. The $S^\prime(T,\alpha)$ maximum at $T^*(\alpha)$ is obtained directly in chains with large $\Delta(\alpha)$ and by extrapolation for small gaps. A phenomenological approximation for $S(T,\alpha)$ down to $T = 0$ indicates power-law deviations $T^{-\gamma(\alpha)}$ from $\exp(-\Delta(\alpha)/T)$ with exponent $\gamma(\alpha)$ that increases with $\alpha$. The $\chi(T,\alpha)$ analysis also yields power-law deviations, but with exponent $\eta(\alpha)$ that decreases with $\alpha$. $S(T,\alpha)$ and the spin density $\rho(T,\alpha) = 4T\chi(T,\alpha)$ probe the thermal and magnetic fluctuations, respectively, of strongly correlated spin states. Gapless chains have constant $S(T,\alpha)/\rho(T,\alpha)$ for $T < 0.10$. Remarkably, the ratio decreases (increases) with $T$ in chains with large (small) $\Delta(\alpha)$.

Abstract:The lattice gas model of condensation in a heterogeneous pore system, represented by a random graph of cells, is studied using an exact analytical solution. A binary mixture of pore cells with different coordination numbers is shown to exhibit two phase transitions as a function of chemical potential in a certain temperature range. Heterogeneity in interaction strengths is demonstrated to reduce the critical temperature and, for large-enough degreeS of disorder, divides the cells into ones which are either on average occupied or unoccupied. Despite treating the pore space loops in a simplified manner, the random-graph model provides a good description of condensation in porous structures containing loops. This is illustrated by considering capillary condensation in a structural model of mesoporous silica SBA-15.
