Abstract:The article considers lattices of the two-dimensional Toda type, which can be interpreted as dressing chains for spatially two-dimensional generalizations of equations of the class of nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The well-known example of this kind of generalization is the Davey-Stewartson equation. It turns out that the finite-field reductions of these lattices, obtained by imposing cutoff boundary conditions of an appropriate type, are Darboux integrable, i.e., they have complete sets of characteristic integrals. An algorithm for constructing complete sets of characteristic integrals of finite field systems using Lax pairs and Miura-type transformations is discussed.

Abstract:By introducing bilinear operators of trigonometric type, we propose several novel integrable variants of the famous Toda lattice, two of which can be regarded as integrable discretizations of the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation—a universal model describing weakly nonlinear waves in media with dispersion of velocity. We also demonstrate that two one-dimensional reductions of these variants can approximate the nonlinear Schrödinger equation and a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation well. It turns out that these equations admit meaningful solutions including solitons, breathers, lumps and rogue waves, which are expressed in terms of explicit and closed forms. In particular, it seems to be the first time that rogue wave solutions have been obtained for Toda-type equations. Furthermore, g -periodic wave solutions are also produced in terms of Riemann theta function. An approximation solution of the three-periodic wave is successfully carried out by using a deep neural network. The introduction of trigonometric-type bilinear operators is also efficient in generating new variants together with rich properties for some other integrable equations.

Abstract:The duality between a class of the Davey-Stewartson type coupled systems and a class of two-dimensional Toda type lattices is discussed. For the recently found integrable lattice the hierarchy of symmetries is described. Second and third order symmetries are presented in explicit form. Corresponding coupled systems are given. An original method for constructing exact solutions to coupled systems is suggested based on the Darboux integrable reductions of the dressing chains. Some new solutions for coupled systems related to the Volterra lattice are presented as illustrative examples.

Abstract:With the help of two semi-direct sum Lie algebras, an efficient way to construct discrete integrable couplings is proposed. As its applications, the discrete integrable couplings of the Toda-type lattice equations are obtained. The approach can be devoted to establishing other discrete integrable couplings of the discrete lattice integrable hierarchies of evolution equations.

Abstract:In a recent paper we constructed an integrable generalization of the Toda law on the square lattice. In this paper we construct other examples of integrable dynamics of Toda-type on the square lattice, as well as on the triangular lattice, as nonlinear symmetries of the discrete Laplace equations on the square and triangular lattices. We also construct the $\tau$ - function formulations and the Darboux-B\"acklund transformations of these novel dynamics.

Abstract:There are different methods of discretizing integrable systems. We consider semi-discrete analog of two-dimensional Toda lattices associated to the Cartan matrices of simple Lie algebras that was proposed by Habibullin in 2011. This discretization is based on the notion of Darboux integrability. Generalized Toda lattices are known to be Darboux integrable in the continuous case (that is, they admit complete families of characteristic integrals in both directions). We prove that semi-discrete analogs of Toda lattices associated to the Cartan matrices of all simple Lie algebras are Darboux integrable. By examining the properties of Habibullin's discretization we show that if a function is a characteristic integral for a generalized Toda lattice in the continuous case, then the same function is a characteristic integral in the semi-discrete case as well. We consider characteristic algebras of such integral-preserving discretizations of Toda lattices to prove the existence of complete families of characteristic integrals in the second direction.

Abstract:A consistent set of six integrable discrete and continuous dynamical systems are suggested corresponding to arbitrary affine Lie algebra. The set contains a system of partial differential equations which can be treated as a version of generalized Toda lattice while semi-discrete systems in the set define the Backlund transform for this Toda lattice and the fully discrete representative of the set can be obtained as a superposition of such kind Backlund transforms. Four linear Zakharov-Shabat type systems taken pairwise realize Lax pairs for these six dynamical systems.

Abstract:We have derived a non-abelian analog for the two-dimensional discrete Toda lattice which possesses solutions in terms of quasideterminants and admits Lax pairs of different forms. Its connection with non-abelian analogs for several well-known (1+1) and one-dimensional lattices is discussed. In particular, we consider a non-commutative analog of the scheme: discrete Toda equations → Somos- N sequences → discrete Painlevé equations.

An algebraic approach to discrete time integrability

Abstract:We propose the systematic construction of classical and quantum two dimensional space-time lattices primarily based on algebraic considerations, i.e. on the existence of associated r-matrices and underlying spatial and temporal classical and quantum algebras. This is a novel construction that leads to the derivation of fully discrete integrable systems governed by sets of consistent integrable non-linear space-time difference equations. To illustrate the proposed methodology, we derive two versions of the fully discrete non-linear Schrodinger type system. The first one is based on the existence of a rational r-matrix, whereas the second one is the fully discrete Ablowitz-Ladik model and is associated to a trigonometric r-matrix. The Darboux-dressing method is also applied for the first discretization scheme, mostly as a consistency check, and solitonic as well as general solutions, in terms of solutions of the fully discrete heat equation, are also derived. The quantization of the fully discrete systems is then quite natural in this context and the two dimensional quantum lattice is thus also examined.

New classical integrable systems from generalized $T\bar{T}$-deformations

Abstract:We introduce and study a novel class of classical integrable many-body systems obtained by generalized $T\bar{T}$-deformations of free particles. Deformation terms are bilinears in densities and currents for the continuum of charges counting asymptotic particles of different momenta. In these models, which we dub ``semiclassical Bethe systems'' for their link with the dynamics of Bethe ansatz wave packets, many-body scattering processes are factorised, and two-body scattering shifts can be set to an almost arbitrary function of momenta. The dynamics is local but inherently different from that of known classical integrable systems. At short scales, the geometry of the deformation is dynamically resolved: either particles are slowed down (more space available), or accelerated via a novel classical particle-pair creation/annihilation process (less space available). The thermodynamics both at finite and infinite volumes is described by the equations of (or akin to) the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz, and at large scales generalized hydrodynamics emerge.

Abstract:The aim of this work is focused on the investigation of the algebraic complete integrability of the Toda lattice associated with the twisted affine Lie algebra $a_4^{(2)}$. First, we prove that the generic fiber of the momentum map for this system is an affine part of an abelian surface. Second, we show that the flows of integrable vector fields on this surface are linear. Finally, using the formal Laurent solutions of the system, we provide a detailed geometric description of these abelian surfaces and the divisor at infinity.

Abstract:The article studies a class of integrable semidiscrete equations with one continuous and two discrete independent variables. Miura type transformations are obtained that relate the equations of the class. A new integrable chain of this type is found, for which the Lax pair is presented. Integrable in the sense of Darboux reductions of the chain are discussed, for small order reductions complete sets of integrals are constructed. Continuum limits for the chain are discussed. A method for finding particular solutions of chains based on integrable in sense of Darboux reductions is proposed. The effectiveness of the method is illustrated by an example.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct the additional $W$-symmetry and ghost symmetry of two-lattice field integrable hierarchies. Using the symmetry constraint, we construct constrained two-lattice integrable systems which contain several new integrable difference equations. Under a further reduction, the constrained two-lattice integrable systems can be combined into one single integrable system, namely the well-known one dimensional original Toda hierarchy. We prove that the one dimensional original Toda hierarchy has a nice Block Lie symmetry.

Abstract:We study an integrable Floquet quantum system related to lattice statistical systems in the universality class of dense polymers. These systems are described by a particular non-unitary representation of the Temperley-Lieb algebra. We find a simple Lie algebra structure for the elements of Temperley-Lieb algebra which are invariant under shift by two lattice sites, and show how the local Floquet conserved charges and the Floquet Hamiltonian are expressed in terms of this algebra. The system has a phase transition between local and non-local phases of the Floquet Hamiltonian. We provide a strong indication that in the scaling limit this non-equilibrium system is described by the logarithmic conformal field theory.

Abstract:In 1967, Japanese physicist Morikazu Toda published the seminal papers exhibiting soliton solutions to a chain of particles with nonlinear interactions between nearest neighbors. In the decades that followed, Toda's system of particles has been generalized in different directions, each with its own analytic, geometric, and topological characteristics that sets it apart from the others. These are known collectively as the Toda lattice. This survey describes and compares several versions of the finite non-periodic Toda lattice from the perspective of their geometry and topology.

Abstract:During the last few years many dynamical systems have been identified, that are completely integrable or even such to allow an explicit solution of the equations of motion. Some of these systems have the form of classical one-dimensional many-body problems with pair interactions; others are more general. All of them are related to Lie algebras, and in all known cases the property of integrability results from the presence of higher (hidden) symmetries. This review presents from a general and universal viewpoint the results obtained in this field during the last few years. Besides it contains some new results both of physical and mathematical interest.The main focus is on the one-dimensional models of n particles interacting pairwise via potentials V(q) = g2ν(q) of the following 5 types: νI(q)=q−2, νII(q)=a−2sinh2(aq), νIII(q)=a2/sin2(aq), νIV=a2P(aq), , νV(q)=q−2+ω2q2. Here P(q) is the Weierstrass function, so that the first 3 cases are merely subcases of the fourth. The system characterized by the Toda nearest-neighbor potential, gj2exp[-a(qj−qj+1)], is moreover considered. Various generalizations of these models, naturally suggested by their association with Lie algebras, are also treated.
