Abstract:The article explores the concept of recycling not only as a way of processing used materials,but also as a metaphor functioning in various fi elds, such as art, literature and culture. It examinesdifferent aspects of recycling, from its traditional application to waste and raw materials, throughits signifi cance in social and cultural contexts, to more abstract interpretations in modern andpostmodern studies. It highlights how recycling becomes a tool for characterizing cultural institutionsand formations, and how it connects to a range of forms of contemporary art and conceptssuch as „remix culture”. It also examines the diversity of uses of the term „recycling” and its impacton the reinterpretation of traditional literary and artistic concepts. Finally, the article addressesthe question of how thinking in terms of recycling can lead to a reformulation of aesthetic andcommunicative norms in today’s world.
