Abstract:A coupled massive Thirring model of two interacting Dirac spinors in $1+1$ dimensions with fields taking values in a Grassmann algebra is introduced, which is closely related to a SU(1,1) version of the Grassmannian Thirring model also introduced in this work. The Lax pair for the system is constructed, and its equations of motion are obtained from a zero curvature condition. It is shown that the system possesses several infinite hierarchies of conserved quantities, which strongly confirms its integrability. The model admits a canonical formulation and is invariant under space-time translations, Lorentz boosts and global U(1) gauge transformations, as well as discrete symmetries like parity and time reversal. The conserved quantities associated to the continuous symmetries are derived using Noether's theorem, and their relation to the lower-order integrals of motion is spelled out. New nonlocal integrable models are constructed through consistent nonlocal reductions between the field components of the general model. The Lagrangian, the Hamiltonian, the Lax pair and several infinite hierarchies of conserved quantities for each of these nonlocal models are obtained substituting its reduction in the expressions of the analogous quantities for the general model. It is shown that, although the Lorentz symmetry of the general model breaks down for its nonlocal reductions, these reductions remain invariant under parity, time reversal, global U(1) gauge transformations and space-time translations.

On the space of $2d$ integrable models

Abstract:We study infinite dimensional Lie algebras, whose infinite dimensional mutually commuting subalgebras correspond with the symmetry algebra of $2d$ integrable models. These Lie algebras are defined by the set of infinitesimal, nonlinear, and higher derivative symmetry transformations present in theories with a left(right)-moving or (anti)-holomorphic current. We study a large class of such Lagrangian theories. We classify the commuting subalgebras of the $2d$ free massless scalar, and find the symmetries of the known integrable models such as sine-Gordon, Liouville, Bullough-Dodd, and Korteweg-de Vries. Along the way, we find several new sequences of commuting charges, which we conjecture are charges of integrable models which are new deformations of a single scalar. After quantizing, the Lie algebra is deformed, and so are their commuting subalgebras.

Abstract:The finite-volume thermodynamics of a massive integrable QFT is described in terms of a grand canonical ensemble of loops immersed in a torus and interacting through scattering factors associated with their intersections. The path integral of the loops is evaluated explicitly after decoupling the pairwise interactions by a Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation. The HS fields are holomorphic fields depending on the rapidity and can be expanded in elementary oscillators. The torus partition function is expressed as certain expectation value in the Fock space of these oscillators. In the limit where one of the periods of the torus becomes asymptotically large, the effective field theory becomes mean field type. The mean field describes the infinite-volume thermodynamics which is solved by the Thermodynamical Bethe Ansatz.

Abstract:We show that integrable vertex and RSOS models with trigonometric Boltzmann weights and appropriate inhomogeneities provide a convenient lattice regularization for massive field theories and for the recently studied massless field theories that interpolate between two nontrivial conformal field theories. Massive and massless S-matrices are computed from the lattice Bethe ansatz.
Integrable coupled bosonic massive Thirring model and its nonlocal reductions

Abstract:A coupled bosonic massive Thirring model (BMTM), involving an interaction between the two independent spinors, is introduced and shown to be integrable. By incorporating suitable reductions between the field components of the coupled BMTM, five novel integrable models with various type of nonlocal interactions are constructed. Lax pairs satisfying the zero curvature condition are obtained for the coupled BMTM and for each of the related nonlocal models. An infinite number of conserved quantities are derived for each of these models which confirms the integrability of the systems. It is shown that the coupled BMTM respects important symmetries of the original BMTM such as parity, time reversal, global $U(1)$-gauge and the proper Lorentz transformations. Similarly, all the nonlocal models obtained from the coupled BMTM remain invariant under combined operation of parity and time reversal transformations. However, it is found that only one of the nonlocal models is invariant under proper Lorentz transformation and two other models are invariant under global $U(1)$-gauge transformation. By using ultralocal Poisson bracket relations among the elements of the Lax operator, it is shown that the coupled BMTM and one of the nonlocal models are completely integrable in the Liouville sense.

New abelian symmetry acting on this family of local operators is found. It creates Lukyanov's operators which are not in the above family of local operators in general.
An Infinite Family of Integrable Sigma Models Using Auxiliary Fields

Abstract:We introduce a class of sigma models in two spacetime dimensions which are parameterized by an interaction function of one real variable. In addition to the physical group-valued field $g$, these models include an auxiliary vector field $v_\alpha$ which mediates interactions in a prescribed way. We prove that every model in this family is weakly integrable, in the sense that the classical equations of motion are equivalent to flatness of a Lax connection for any value of a spectral parameter. We also show that these models are strongly integrable, in the sense that the Poisson bracket of the Lax connection takes the Maillet form, which guarantees the existence of an infinite set of conserved charges in involution. This class of theories includes the principal chiral model (PCM) and all deformations of the PCM by functions of the energy-momentum tensor, such as $T \overline{T}$ and root-$T \overline{T}$.

Abstract:Interaction-Round the Face (IRF) models are two-dimensional lattice models of statistical mechanics defined by an affine Lie algebra and admissibility conditions depending on a choice of representation of that affine Lie algebra. Integrable IRF models, i.e., the models the Boltzmann weights of which satisfy the quantum Yang-Baxter equation, are of particular interest. In this paper, we investigate trigonometric Boltzmann weights of integrable IRF models. By using an ansatz proposed by one of the authors in some previous works, the Boltzmann weights of the restricted IRF models based on the affine Lie algebras $\mathfrak{su}(2)_k$ and $\mathfrak{su}(3)_k$ are computed for fundamental and adjoint representations for some fixed levels $k$. New solutions for the Boltzmann weights are obtained. We also study the vertex-IRF correspondence in the context of an unrestricted IRF model based on $\mathfrak {su}(3)_k$ (for general $k$) and discuss how it can be used to find Boltzmann weights in terms of the quantum $\hat{R}$ matrix when the adjoint representation defines the admissibility conditions.

Quantizing a Non-locally Massive 2-form Model

Abstract:A non-local yet gauge-invariantly massive 2-form model is considered that leads to local and unitary dynamics upon proper gauge-fixing. Since canonical momenta cannot be defined owing to the non-locality, consistent quantization of this system warrants particular care. We construct the Dirac brackets and covariant commutators for this model, followed by its path integral quantization, leading to consistent results. These treatments underline the most efficient way to extract the physical modes and the subsequent spectrum free from infrared ambiguity. Physically the massive 2-form represents a spin-1 excitation, with potential application to string theory and cosmology, that can mediate a screened interaction when topologically coupled to fermions.

Abstract:We provide an operator-algebraic construction of integrable models of quantum field theory on 1+1 dimensional Minkowski space with fermionic scattering states. These are obtained by a grading of the wedge-local fields or, alternatively, of the underlying Borchers triple defining the theory. This leads to a net of graded-local field algebras, of which the even part can be considered observable, although it is lacking Haag duality. Importantly, the nuclearity condition implying nontriviality of the local field algebras is independent of the grading, so that existing results on this technical question can be utilized. Application of Haag-Ruelle scattering theory confirms that the asymptotic particles are indeed fermionic. We also discuss connections with the form factor programme.

Abstract:Immature zygotic embryo explants of Carica papaya were cultured on MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D (2.0 mg/l) and formed globular embryos on explants without callus formation in 4-6 weeks. Maturation and conversion of somatic embryos was also achieved on the same medium. Cotyledonary stage embryos germinated to 63.66 and 68.33% in cv. honey dew and washington respectively in MS basal medium supplemented ABA (0.5 microm/l). Robust development and proliferation of plantlet roots in vitro was obtained on MS basal medium. Hardened plantlets have 60% survival rate.

Abstract:The Quantum Inverse Scattering Method is a scheme for solving integrable models in $1+1$ dimensions, building on an $R$-matrix that satisfies the Yang--Baxter equation and in terms of which one constructs a commuting family of transfer matrices. In the standard formulation, this $R$-matrix acts on a tensor product of vector spaces. Here, we relax this tensorial property and develop a framework for describing and analysing integrable models based on planar algebras, allowing non-separable \textit{$R$-operators} satisfying \textit{generalised} Yang--Baxter equations. We also re-evaluate the notion of integrals of motion and characterise when an (algebraic) \textit{transfer operator} is polynomial in a single integral of motion. We refer to such models as {\em polynomially integrable}. In an eight-vertex model, we demonstrate that the corresponding transfer operator is polynomial in the natural hamiltonian. In the Temperley--Lieb loop model with loop fugacity $\beta\in\mathbb{C}$, we likewise find that, for all but finitely many $\beta$-values, the transfer operator is polynomial in the usual hamiltonian element of the Temperley--Lieb algebra $\mathrm{TL}_n(\beta)$, at least for $n\leq17$. Moreover, we find that this model admits a second canonical hamiltonian, and that this hamiltonian also acts as a polynomial integrability generator for small $n$ and all but finitely many $\beta$-values.

Abstract:Massless field equations are fundamental in particle physics. In Clifford analysis, the Euclidean version of these equations has been dealt with, but it is not clear, even in dimension 4, what should be the right analogue of massless field equations for fields with values in a general irreducible Spin(4)‐module. The main aim of the paper is to explain that a good possibility is to take the so‐called generalized Cauchy–Riemann equations proposed a long time ago by Stein and Weiss. For this choice of the equations, we show that their polynomial solutions form different irreducible Spin(4)‐modules. This is an important step in developing the corresponding function theory.

Abstract:In this paper we discuss a constructive approach to check whether a constant Hamiltonian is Yang-Baxter integrable. We then apply our method to long-range interactions and find the Lax operator and $R$-matrix of the two-loop SU(2) sector in N=4 SYM. We show that all known integrable long-range deformations of the 6-vertex models of this type can be obtained from a Lax operator and an $R$-matrix. Finally we discuss what happens at higher loops and highlight some general structures that these models seem to exhibit.

Abstract:The homogeneous cosmological models with a Liouville scalar field are investigated in classical and quantum context of Wheeler-DeWitt geometrodynamics. In the quantum case of quintessence field with potential unbounded from below and phantom field, the energy density operators are not essentially self-adjoint and self-adjoint extensions contain ambiguities. Therefore the same classical actions correspond to a family of distinct quantum models. For the phantom field the energy spectrum happens to be discrete. The probability conservation and appropriate classical limit can be achieved with a certain restriction of the functional class. The appropriately localized wave packets are studied numerically using the Schrodinger's norm and a conserved Mostafazadeh's norm introduced from techniques of pseudo-Hermitian quantum mechanics. These norms give a similar packet evolution that is confronted with analytical classical solutions.
