Abstract:The paper is related to the classification of special manifolds and projective special manifolds. One of the result of this paper is that, if the Weil-Petersson metric on a projective special manifold is complete, then the Hodge metrc and the Weil-Petersson metrc are equivalent.

Abstract: In this paper, it is proved that the Hodge metric completion of the moduli space of polarized and marked Calabi--Yau manifolds, i.e. the Torelli space, is a complex affine manifold. As applications we prove that the period map from the Torelli space and the extended period map from its completion space both are injective into the period domain, and that the completion space is a bounded domain of holomorphy and admits a complete K\"ahler--Einstein metric.

Abstract:In this paper, we give an expression and some estimates of the curvature tensor of the Hodge metric over the moduli space of a polarized Calabi-Yau threefold. The symmetricity of the Yukawa coupling is also studied. In the last section of this paper, an extra restriction of the limiting Hodge structure for the degeneration of Calabi-Yau threefolds is given.

Abstract:In this paper, we define and study the Weil-Petersson geometry. Under the framework of the Weil-Petersson geometry, we study the Weil-Petersson metric and the Hodge metric. Among the other results, we represent the Hodge metric in terms of the Weil-Petersson metric and the Ricci curvature of the Weil-Petersson metric for Calabi-Yau fourfold moduli. We also prove that the Hodge volume of the moduli space is finite. Finally, we proved that the curvature of the Hodge metric is bounded if the Hodge metric is complete and the dimension of the moduli space is 1.
Physical Yukawa Couplings in Heterotic String Compactifications

Abstract:One of the challenges of heterotic compactification on a Calabi-Yau threefold is to determine the physical $(\mathbf{27})^3$ Yukawa couplings of the resulting four-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=1$ theory. In general, the calculation necessitates knowledge of the Ricci-flat metric. However, in the standard embedding, which references the tangent bundle, we can compute normalized Yukawa couplings from the Weil-Petersson metric on the moduli space of complex structure deformations of the Calabi-Yau manifold. In various examples (the Fermat quintic, the intersection of two cubics in $\mathbb{P}^5$, and the Tian-Yau manifold), we calculate the normalized Yukawa couplings for $(2,1)$-forms using the Weil-Petersson metric obtained from the Kodaira-Spencer map. In cases where $h^{1,1}=1$, this is compared to a complementary calculation based on performing period integrals. A third expression for the normalized Yukawa couplings is obtained from a machine learned approximate Ricci-flat metric making use of explicit harmonic representatives. The excellent agreement between the different approaches opens the door to precision string phenomenology.

Abstract:We prove some structure results for transversely reducible Sasaki manifolds. In particular, we show a Sasaki manifold with positive Ricci curvature is transversely irreducible, and so join (product) construction cannot be generalized to irregular Sasaki-Einstein manifolds, as opposed to the quasi-regular case done by Wang-Ziller and Boyer-Galicki. As an application, we classify compact Sasaki manifolds with nonnegative transverse bisectional curvature, which can be viewed as the generalized Frankel conjecture in Sasaki geometry.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concept of quasi Yamabe gradient solitons, which generalizes the concept of Yamabe gradient solitons. By using some ideas in [7,8], we prove that $n$-dimensional $(n\geq3)$ complete quasi Yamabe gradient solitons with vanishing Weyl curvature tensor and positive sectional curvature must be rotationally symmetric. We also prove that any compact quasi Yamabe gradient solitons are of constant scalar curvature.

Abstract:We classify simply connected compact Sasaki manifolds of dimension 2n+1 with positive transverse bisectional curvature. In particular, the Kähler cone corresponding to such manifolds must be bi-holomorphic to Cn+1\{0}. As an application we recover the theorem of Mori and Siu–Yau on the Frankel conjecture and extend it to certain orbifold version. The main idea is to deform such Sasaki manifolds to the standard round sphere in two steps, both fixing the complex structure on the Kähler cone. First, we deform the metric along the Sasaki–Ricci flow and obtain a limit Sasaki–Ricci soliton with positive transverse bisectional curvature. Then by varying the Reeb vector field which essentially decreases the volume functional, we deform the Sasaki–Ricci soliton to a Sasaki–Einstein metric with positive transverse bisectional curvature, i.e. a round sphere. The second deformation is only possible when one treats simultaneously regular and irregular Sasaki manifolds, even if the manifold one starts with is regular (quasi-regular), i.e. Kähler manifolds (orbifolds).
Gradient estimates and Liouville theorems for Lichnerowicz-type equation on Riemannian manifolds

Abstract:In this paper we consider the gradient estimates on positive solutions to the following elliptic (Lichnerowicz) equation defined on a complete Riemannian manifold $(M,\,g)$: $$\Delta v + \mu v + a v^{p+1} +b v^{-q+1} =0,$$ where $p\geq-1$, $q\geq1$, $\mu$, $a$ and $b$ are real constants. In the case $\mu\geq0$ and $b\geq0$ or $\mu<0$ , $a>0$ and $b>0$ ($\mu$ has a lower bound), we employ the Nash-Moser iteration technique to obtain some refined gradient estimates of the solutions to the above equation, if $(M,\,g)$ satisfies $Ric \geq -(n-1)\kappa$ , where $n\geq3$ is the dimension of $M$ and $\kappa$ is a nonnegative constant, and $\mu$ , $a$ , $b$ , $p$ and $q$ satisfy some technique conditions. By the obtained gradient estimates we also derive some Liouville type theorems for the above equation under some suitable geometric and analysis conditions. As applications, we can derive some Cheng-Yau's type gradient estimates for solutions to the $n$-dimensional Einstein-scalar field Lichnerowicz equation where $n\geq3$.

Abstract:In this note, we study a gradient generalized m-quasi-Einstein manifold. That is, there exist two smooth functions f, λ$${\lambda}$$ such thatRij+fij-1mfifj=λgij,$$R_{ij}+f_{ij}-\frac{1}{m}f_if_j=\lambda g_{ij},$$where m is a constant. We first obtain some rigidity results on compact gradient generalized m-quasi-Einstein manifolds. Then, we obtain some classifications for the special gradient generalized m-quasi-Einstein manifolds under the assumption that the Bach tensor is flat. In particular, we obtain some even stronger results in dimension three.

Abstract:In this paper, we employ the Nash-Moser iteration technique to study local and global properties of positive solutions to the equation $$\Delta_pv+bv^q+cv^r =0$$ on complete Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded from below, where $b, c\in\mathbb R$, $p>1$, and $q\leq r$ are some real constants. Assuming certain conditions on $b,\, c,\, p,\, q$ and $r$, we derive succinct Cheng-Yau type gradient estimates for positive solutions, which is of sharp form. These gradient estimates allow us to obtain some Liouville-type theorems and Harnack inequalities. Our Liouville-type results are novel even in Euclidean spaces. Based on the local gradient estimates and a trick of Sung and Wang, we also obtain the global gradient estimates for such solutions. As applications we show the uniqueness of positive solutions to some generalized Allen-Cahn equation and Fisher-KPP equation.

Abstract:In this paper, we first obtain an $$L^q$$ gradient estimate for p-harmonic maps, by assuming the target manifold supporting a certain function, whose gradient and Hessian satisfy some analysis conditions. From this $$L^q$$ gradient estimate, we get a corresponding Liouville type result for p-harmonic maps. Secondly, using these general results, we give various geometric applications to p-harmonic maps from complete manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature to manifolds with various upper bound on sectional curvature, under appropriate controlled images.

Abstract:For the first time, we build a generalization of the $U(n)$ Yang-Mills theory obtained by abandoning the condition of covariant constancy of the Hermitian form in the fibers: $\nabla_a g_{\alpha\beta'} \ne 0$. So this theory is a simpler analogue of the well-known metric-affine gravity with $\nabla_a g_{bc} \ne 0$. In our case the connection $\nabla_a$ and the Hermitian form $g_{\alpha\beta'}$ are two independent variables, and the total curvature and the total potential are no longer anti-Hermitian matrices: in addition to the usual $\boldsymbol{F}_{ab}$ and $\boldsymbol{A}_a$ they also obtain new Hermitian parts $\boldsymbol{G}_{ab}$ and $\boldsymbol{B}_a$. It is shown that the Hermitian form $g_{\alpha\beta'}$ is a Higgs field breaking the general $GL(n,\mathbb{C})$ gauge symmetry to $U(n)$, and its perturbations are Goldstone bosons which can be eliminated from the theory by redefining other fields. The result is a theory consisting of two non-trivially interacting gauge fields, one of which can be made massive while the other remains massless. Letting the mass of the second gauge field tend to infinity allows one to restore the usual YM.

Abstract:This article presents new local and global gradient estimates of Li-Yau type for positive solutions to a class of nonlinear elliptic equations on smooth metric measure spaces involving the Witten Laplacian. The estimates are derived under natural lower bounds on the associated Bakry-Émery Ricci curvature tensor and find utility in proving general Harnack inequalities and Liouville-type theorems to mention a few. The results here unify, extend and improve various existing results in the literature for special nonlinearities already of huge interest and applications. Some important consequences are presented and discussed.

The generalized Kähler Calabi-Yau problem

Abstract:We formulate an extension of the Calabi conjecture to the setting of generalized Kähler geometry. We show a transgression formula for the Bismut Ricci curvature in this setting, which requires a new local Goto/Kodaira-Spencer deformation result, and use it to show that solutions of the generalized Calabi-Yau equation on compact manifolds are classically Kähler, Calabi-Yau, and furthermore unique in their generalized Kähler class. We show that the generalized Kähler-Ricci flow is naturally adapted to this conjecture, and exhibit a number of a priori estimates and monotonicity formulas which suggest global existence and convergence. For initial data in the generalized Kähler class of a Kähler Calabi-Yau structure we prove the flow exists globally and converges to this unique fixed point. This has applications to understanding the space of generalized Kähler structures, and as a special case yields the topological structure of natural classes of Hamiltonian symplectomorphisms on hyperKähler manifolds. In the case of commuting-type generalized Kähler structures we establish global existence and convergence with arbitrary initial data to a Kähler, Calabi-Yau metric, which yields a new $d d^c$-lemma for these structures.
