Abstract:We determine all two-dimensional Lie subalgebras of the centreless Virasoro algebra and complete the characterization of all finite dimensional Lie subalgebras of the complex Virasoro algebra.

Abstract:In this paper, we study two -graded infinite Lie conformal algebras, which are closely related to a class of Lie algebras of the generalized Block type, and which both have a quotient algebra isomorphic to the Virasoro conformal algebra. We concretely determine their isomorphic mappings, conformal derivations, extensions by a one-dimensional center under some conditions, finite conformal modules and -graded free intermediate series modules.

Abstract:In this paper, we study representations of non-finitely graded Lie algebras $\mathcal{W}(\epsilon)$ related to Virasoro algebra, where $\epsilon = \pm 1$. Precisely speaking, we completely classify the free $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak h)$-modules of rank one over $\mathcal{W}(\epsilon)$,and find that these module structures are rather different from those of other graded Lie algebras. We also determine the simplicity and isomorphism classes of these modules.

Abstract:Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras spanned by {L-n, Y-p, M-k vertical bar n, k is an element of Z, p is an element of 1/2 +Z} are annihilation algebras of Lie conformal algebras of rank three, which are widely studied by mathematicians and physicists. In this article, we introduce the notion of Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie conformal algebras. Using the pseudoalgebra language, we study the Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie conformal algebras and classify all Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie conformal algebras.

Abstract:We construct and study non-finitely graded Lie algebras $\mathcal{HV}(a,b;\epsilon)$ related to Heisenberg-Virasoro type Lie algebras, where $a,b$ are complex numbers, and $\epsilon = \pm 1$. Using combinatorial techniques, we completely classify the free $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak h)$-modules of rank one over $\mathcal{HV}(a,b;\epsilon)$. It turns out that these modules are more varied and complex than those over non-finitely graded Virasoro algebras, and in particular admit infinitely many free parameters if $b=1$ and $\epsilon=-1$. Meanwhile, we also determine the simplicity and isomorphism classes of these modules.

Abstract:International Journal of Mathematics, Ahead of Print. The Schrödinger–Virasoro algebra was originally introduced during the process of investigating the free Schrödinger equations. In order to investigate vertex representations of the Schrödinger–Virasoro algebra, Unterberger introduced a new infinite-dimensional Lie algebra [math] called the extended Schrödinger–Virasoro algebra in the context of two-dimensional conformal field theory and statistical physics. In this paper, we study simple smooth modules over [math], which can be viewed as an extension of the Schrödinger–Virasoro algebra by a conformal current with conformal weight 1. More specifically, these modules are determined by simple modules over finite-dimensional solvable Lie algebras. Moreover, we present several equivalent descriptions for simple smooth modules over [math].

Abstract:Lie conformal algebras [Formula: see text] are the semi-direct sums of Virasoro Lie conformal algebra and its nontrivial conformal modules of rank one. In this paper, we first give a complete classification of all finite nontrivial irreducible conformal modules of [Formula: see text]. It is shown that all such modules are of rank one. Moreover, with a similar method, all finite nontrivial irreducible conformal modules of Schrödinger–Virasoro type Lie conformal algebras [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are characterized.

Abstract:For an arbitrary calibrated Frobenius manifold, we construct an infinite dimensional Lie algebra, called the Virasoro-like algebra, which is a deformation of the Virasoro algebra of the Frobenius manifold. By using the Virasoro-like algebra we give a family of quadratic PDEs that are satisfied by the genus-zero free energy of the Frobenius manifold. We also derive, under the semisimplicity assumption, the Virasoro constraints for the corresponding abstract Hodge partition function.

Abstract:In this paper, we find the Hochschild cohomology groups of the universal associative conformal envelope $U(3)$ of the Virasoro Lie conformal algebra with respect to associative locality $N=3$ on the generator with coefficients in all finite modules. In order to obtain this result, we construct the Anick resolution via the algebraic discrete Morse theory and Gröbner--Shirshov basis.

Abstract:In this paper, firstly we construct two classes of Lie conformal superalgebras denoted by $\mathcal{HVS}(\alpha)$ and $\mathcal{HVS}(\beta,\gamma,\tau)$, respectively, where $\alpha$ is an nonzero complex number and $\beta,\gamma,\tau$ are complex numbers. They are both of rank $(2+1)$ and the even part $\mathcal{HVS}(\alpha)_{\bar{0}}=\mathcal{HVS}(\beta,\gamma,\tau)_{\bar{0}}$ is the Heisenberg--Virasoro Lie conformal algebra, which is a free $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-module generated by $L$ and $H$ satisfying $[L_\lambda L]=(\partial+2\lambda)L,\ [L_\lambda H]=(\partial+\lambda)H,\ [H_\lambda H]=0$. Then we completely determine the conformal derivations, conformal biderivations, automorphism groups and conformal modules of rank $(1+1)$ for these two Lie conformal superalgebras.

Biderivations of Lie algebras

Abstract:In this paper, we first introduce the concept of symmetric biderivation radicals and characteristic subalgebras of Lie algebras, and study their properties. Based on these results, we precisely determine biderivations of some Lie algebras including finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras over arbitrary fields of characteristic not $2$ or $3$, and the Witt algebras $\mathcal{W}^+_n$ over fields of characteristic $0$. As an application, commutative post-Lie algebra structure on aforementioned Lie algebras is shown to be trivial.

Classification of irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over full toroidal Lie algebras and higher-dimensional Virasoro algebras

Abstract:In this paper, we completely classify the irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over the full toroidal Lie algebra, which is a natural higher-dimensional analogue of the affine-Virasoro algebra. As a by-product, we also obtain the classification of all possible irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over the higher-dimensional Virasoro algebra, which was introduced by Rao--Moody [Comm. Math. Phys. 1994] These directly generalize the well-known result of O. Mathieu [Invent. Math. 1992] for the classical Virasoro algebra and also the recent work of Billig-Futorny [J. Reine Angew. Math. 2016] for the higher rank Witt algebra. In particular, we show that any irreducible Harish-Chandra module over the higher-dimensional Virasoro algebra turns out to be either a quotient of a module of tensor fields on a torus or a highest weight type module up to a twist of an automorphism, as conjectured by Eswara Rao in 2004.

Abstract:The first cohomology group of generalized loop Virasoro algebras with coefficients in the tensor product of its adjoint module is shown to be trivial. The result is used to prove that Lie bialgebra structures on generalized loop Virasoro algebras are coboundary triangular. The authors generalize the results to generalized map Virasoro algebras.

Abstract:Let SV(z) be a class of Schrödinger-Virasoro type Lie algebras, where z∈Z . In this paper, we show that SV(z) is 2-local complete (namely, every 2-local derivation is a derivation) for almost all integers z 's. We also introduce the notion of full diamond thin Lie algebras, and construct an example F from SV(−1) . We completely determine the derivations of F by combinatoric techniques, and show that F is not 2-local complete.

Abstract:In this work, we construct a representation of the Virasoro algebra in the canonical Hilbert space associated to Liouville conformal field theory. The study of the Virasoro operators is performed through the introduction of a new family of Markovian dynamics associated to holomorphic vector fields defined in the disk. As an output, we show that the Hamiltonian of Liouville conformal field theory can be diagonalized through the action of the Virasoro algebra. This enables to show that the scattering matrix of the theory is diagonal and that the family of the so-called primary fields (which are eigenvectors of the Hamiltonian) admits an analytic extension to the whole complex plane, as conjectured in the physics literature.

Irreducibility of Virasoro representations in Liouville CFT

Abstract:In the context of Liouville conformal field theory, we construct the highest-weight representations of the Virasoro algebra at the degenerate values of the conformal weight (Kac table). We show that these modules are irreducible, giving a complete characterization of the algebraic structure of Liouville CFT. It also implies that all singular vectors vanish, which is one of the main assumptions usually made in theoretical physics. Our proof uses inputs from both probability theory and algebra, and gives new probabilistic content to the Kac table. Combining the information that singular vectors vanish with the main geometric properties of conformal blocks, we deduce that conformal blocks involving degenerate primary fields satisfy null-vector equations. These equations take the form of PDEs on the Teichmüller space of the underlying surface and generalize previous works in several directions.

Abstract:We use the SLE$_\kappa$ loop measure to construct a natural representation of the Virasoro algebra of central charge $c = c(\kappa) \le 1$. In particular, we introduce a non-degenerate bilinear Hermitian form (not positive-definite) using the SLE loop measure and show that the representation is (indefinite) unitary. Our proof relies on the infinitesimal conformal restriction property of the SLE loop measure.
