Abstract:Marx's theory of human liberalization originated from and exceeded reality as an ideal unified both ideality and reality.It is necessary for our research to explore Marx's distinction between ideality and reality in his classics about human liberalization,in order to construct a system of Marx's human liberalization theory.Especially,we should reveal his theory at the reality level,so as to construct a system of Marx's theory of human liberalization with reality.The current research in China on the theory of human liberalization must realize a transition from an ideal dimension to a real dimension,i.e.from Marx's ideality of ideal society to the reality of real life.

Abstract:Political Research Quarterly, Ahead of Print. This article explores the relationship between materialism and philosophical idealism in the political philosophy of Marxist revolutionary movements, by illuminating the influence of Neo-Confucian idealism on the sinification of Marxism. Although they had virtually no access to the writings of the young Marx, Li Dazhao and Mao Zedong incorporated idealist philosophical ideas into their sinified Marxism. I argue that three elements of Neo-Confucian idealism contributed to the sinification of Marxism that emerged by the 1940s: (1) acknowledgment of the real existence of the material world as apprehended by the mind-and-heart in Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism; (2) emphasis on human will and consciousness, drawn from Wang Yangming's Neo-Confucianism; and (3) recognition of an autonomous, even decisive role of consciousness and culture in revolutionary change. The resulting sinified Marxism constituted a revolutionary New Confucianism, highlighting the most universal, humanistic, liberative elements in the Chinese philosophical tradition. These community-affirming and spiritually rich elements can be mobilized against authoritarian forces to support the continuing struggle for human rights and democratization within and well beyond China today.

Abstract:In order to continue to promote the Sinicization of Marxism, we must further improve the work of combining Marxism with China’s specific reality and excellent Chinese traditional culture. The Confucian culture represented by Confucius’ thought has a high degree of self-consistency and compatibility between its excellent spiritual connotation of “the society of great harmony” and the lofty ideal of communism. These self-consistency, and compatibility characteristics mainly include the compatibility between Confucius’ “the world is for all” and communist public ownership; the compatibility between Mencius, “rule of the people” and Marxist “individual ownership”; the compatibility between Confucian “ practice learning” and Marxist practice view; the compatibility between “sages,” “gentlemen” “ key minorities” and “communists” and the compatibility between Confucian rational spirit and Marxist “atheism” thought. A profound understanding of the compatibility between the two has important practical significance for improving our cultural self-confidence and promoting and developing Marxism in China.

Abstract:Purpose Since the implementation of reform and opening up, China has made remarkable achievement in terms of economic reform and development. China’s path, as well as its experience, has simultaneously gained worldwide concerns. Developing the market economy against the backdrop of socialism brings conclusions from China’s achievement, deepens knowledge of China’s pathway and builds a socialist political economy with Chinese characteristics. That is the way to realise a basic socialist system, especially with regards to the organic integration of public ownership and market economy. This combination determines the future of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the success or failure of economic restructuring. Therefore, it requires consideration and in-depth study. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach The goal of economic restructuring is to establish and develop the socialist market economy. Its main content can be summarised in two parts. The first is the relationship between plan and market or government and market. The second is compatibility or combination of public ownership and market economy. The former is one of the superficial problems, relevant to resource allocation method or economic operation mechanism. The latter stems from deep-rooted problems, represented by ownership or the underlying economic system. These two work together to form the organic integrity of socialist market economy where both similarities and contrasts coexist. Findings The shared ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the lofty goals of communism will then become empty words. In this sense we can say that, whether we can realise the unity and opposition between public ownership and market economy and better integrate advantages of socialist system with strengths of market economy, will to a large extent determine the future and destiny of the socialist market economy. Originality/value As previously mentioned, the relationship between plan and market or government and market are part of resource allocation methods or economic operation mechanism. Compatibility and combination, however, with public ownership and market economy are part of an ownership or basic economic system. Science reveals the nature and developmental law of the socialist market economy. An in-depth study must be conducted on the relationship between public ownership and market economy.

Abstract:At present, economic reform in China is intensifying and has reached a crucial phase. Different segments of society and intellectuals are debating the direction of the on-going reforms both based on ideology and vested interests. The enormous growth China has experienced in the last three decades shows that reforms based on the socialist market economy has set China on an inevitable course to build a progressive society and help China to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation. The authors explain the essence of the China Model from four perspectives: the basic economic system, mode of economic regulation, driving force of economic growth and economic cooperation with foreign countries. Deepening economic reform requires adhering to core policies of the Communist Party of China and establishing a democratic politics with Chinese characteristics. Widespread and gradual political reform is crucial for the task of further development and perfecting the China Model.

Abstract:Although Marxist classical writers have extremely high moral expectations to "planned economy", it paid a price in socialist moral because it was misunderstood and misused, causing the significant gaps between the lofty moral ideals and the state of economic and social development, the predetermined moral man and people's material being, advanced political ideas and bureaucratic totalitarian reality. Revelations of rethinking the moral cost of the planned economy are: advanced the-ory cannot be separated from practice in no way, and not be amended arbitrarily or tampered maliciously regardless of the reality; the ideal moral implication of the concept of planned economy can not be given up, and the effect of "planning" in market economy should be given full play; the solution of moral problems should rely on the perfect design of the economic system, but not on the idealistic propaganda of political ideology.

Abstract:Purpose The socialist construction with Chinese characteristics must be based on history and reality. According to the requirements of liberation and development of productivity, efforts must be made to reform and improve the production relations, as well as continually consolidate the socialist system with Chinese characteristics. The purpose of this paper is to prove the necessity and superiority of a socialist system through China’s modernization achievements. Design/methodology/approach Marxist political economics is a critical legacy from classical economics. Its core question is also social production and distribution, which is epitomized in the labor theory of value and the theory of surplus value. Findings Regarding the significant principles that must be followed, these speeches summarized the logical system and prominent features of the socialist political system in the new normal from several significant and interrelated aspects such as basic methods, core propositions, main tasks and fundamental goals. Originality/value The socialist system with Chinese characteristics will gradually appear through further research and prove its superiority. How can a socialist system with Chinese characteristics innovate and develop? Does the system have a future? Is there any historical necessity for the socialist system to replace the capitalist system in human history? These are the questions that need urgent answers and in-depth exploration.
