Abstract:This research explores the integration of Industry 5.0 principles in the utilization of by-products from the processing of medicinal and aromatic plant-based teas. Emphasizing sustainability, human-centricity, and resilience, this model addresses efficient by-product management, leveraging advanced technologies to enhance collection, processing, and transformation processes. Case studies, such as Jambi Kiwa, demonstrate successful implementations within indigenous communities, highlighting improvements in economic and environmental outcomes. Key technological approaches include supercritical CO2 extraction, ultrasound-assisted extraction, and anaerobic digestion, optimizing byproduct valorization. This model not only boosts the sustainability and profitability of the tea industry but also fosters active worker participation, ensuring holistic development. The findings suggest that Industry 5.0 can significantly advance the efficient and sustainable management of by-products, contributing to the overall competitiveness and eco-friendliness of the tea production sector.
