Abstract:While the Chinese stock market has been in a slump due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the profitability of Baijiu companies has been attracting attention. This article analyzes the financial data of three Baijiu enterprises based on three types of indicators, i.e., solvency indicators, profitability indicators, operating capacity indicators. To be specific, for solvency indicators, current ratio and quick ratio are utilized; for profitability indicators, return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) are utilized; for operating capacity indicators, inventory turnover ratio and accounts receivable turnover ratio are utilized. According to the data analysis, Kweichow Moutai maintains a leading edge and leads the development of the industry. At the same time, the profitability of Luzhou Laojiao and Shanxi Fenjiu increased steadily year by year. Hence, the future development potential is strong and this study claims that the Baijiu industry stock future trend is good, worthy of investment. This article puts forward feasible suggestions according to the shortcomings of each enterprise, and provides investment suggestions for shareholders. Overall, these results shed light on guiding further exploration of Baijiu industry, showing the growth potentiality for each company as well as the investment suggestion for the stockholders.

Abstract:Baijiu is one of the important representatives of Chinese liquor culture. It plays an irreplaceable role in banquets and is often used as a gift in Chinese society. Baijiu production and the number of baijiu companies in the past ten years show that the market is saturated and shrinking. On the other hand, comparing the revenue and profits between listed baijiu companies and the entire industry, it can be found that the baijiu industry has obvious monopoly characteristics and structural prosperity. These two phenomena can be divided into political and economic reasons. Politically, the Chinese government promulgated restrictions on government spending and family planning policies, which directly reduced the consumption group of baijiu, leading to the shrinkage of the baijiu industry. Economically, China's rapid development has increased people's disposable income, and people began to care more about their health and pursue high-end baijiu, leading to a monopoly. To broaden the market, the baijiu industry can consider e-commerce channels and international expansion.

Abstract:Baijiu has always been a beloved and enduringly popular beverage in China, with Kweichow Moutai standing as a leader in the Chinese Baijiu industry. To assess the company comprehensively, an in-depth financial analysis is warranted. This study delved into three critical aspects disclosed in Kweichow Moutai's annual report - revenue recognition, fixed assets, and construction in progress - to evaluate the reasonableness of the company's accounting practices. Moreover, an exploration of the company's market performance was conducted by calculating the key financial indicators within four domains: liquidity, solvency, profitability, and investment analysis. While Kweichow Moutai exhibits some slight accounting deficiencies, the overall accounting practices remain clear and compliant with international standards. Furthermore, the company's market performance is highly favorable. Combined with insights from leading research institutions, the study concludes that Kweichow Moutai stands as an attractive investment option, supported by its impressive market performance and compliance with established accounting norms.

Abstract:The liquor industry has rebounded in recent years, especially in the high-end liquor market competition (represented by Kweichou Moutai and others) has gradually stabilized. However, many liquor companies are still facing multiple challenges due to the macro environment and industry environment. Therefore, this paper explored the financial situation of representative enterprises in the high-end liquor industry, selecting three listed high-end liquor companies as the research sample and conducting factor analysis based on their financial report data from 2019 to 2022 to rank the performance of the enterprises, focusing on the competitiveness issues of the industry leader Kweichou Moutai. According to the anlaysis, Kweichou Moutai had a significant advantage in profitability. Conversely, Moutai's growth ability was a shortcoming that needed to be focused on. This paper offers an in-depth analysis of Kweichou Moutai's weaker growth capability so as to provide a reference for each liquor company to improve its market competitiveness and the healthy development of the liquor industry.

Abstract:In the post-epidemic period, the liquor industry has entered a new round of adjustment cycle. This paper takes the average financial data of the annual reports of 18 listed companies in the liquor industry from 2021-2021-2022 as sample data. Through S PSS23.0 data analysis software, the factor analysis method selects the corresponding public factor, and the investment value of listed companies in liquor industry is analyzed according to the comprehensive evaluation of each public factor and weight. According to the scores of various factors, the profitability of Kweichow Moutai is far higher than that of other companies, the development capacity of Laobaigan liquor industry is at the forefront of the industry, and the operating capacity of Swellfun is strong, with high resource utilization efficiency, and Yanghe Stock's solvency and capital utilization efficiency are strong. According to the comprehensive score research, it is found that among the listed companies in the liquor industry with strong profitability, their business ability and solvency are generally weak. At the same time, according to the comprehensive score, the top three enterprises are Shanxi Fenjiu, Luzhou Laojiao and Shide Wine Industry.

Abstract:Baijiu industry, as a pillar industry of hundreds of billions of dollars, is an important part of the national economy, and has been strongly supported by the national and local governments at all levels. However, as China's consumption upgrading speeds up, the process of the liquor industry is accelerating, and the market competition led by homogenised products is intensifying, liquor enterprises need to seek an innovation path suitable for their own enterprises in order to form a sustainable competitive advantage. Using a three-stage DEA model, this paper measures the innovation efficiency of 18 listed liquor enterprises in 2022, and analyses the relationship between environmental variables and the innovation efficiency of listed liquor enterprises. The results show that environmental factors such as government subsidies, GDP per capita, and equity concentration all have a significant impact on the slack variables of the firms' R&D expenditure investment and the slack variables of R&D personnel investment. From a general point of view, the innovation efficiency of China's listed liquor enterprises still needs to be improved, and the gap between enterprises is large.

Abstract:Taking Kweichow Moutai company, a successful Chinese baijiu making company, as the research object, this paper introduces the background of China's baijiu industry and studies the reasons for the success of Moutai company through the analysis of its business model and financial data of Moutai company. This paper also analyzes the possible problems in the baijiu market and gives the corresponding solutions from the aspects of national policies and product substitution. Finally, through analysis, this paper concludes that although there may be future problems, Moutai has made the operation of the national company very successful through different business strategies and financial management.

Abstract:Chinese Baijiu industry has always been a popular investment choice. Since 2020, the scale of COVID-19 has been further expanded, followed by a gradual increase in the risk, therefore, calculation and analysis of the risk in Chinese Baijiu industry has become a priority. In this paper, the CAPM model is utilized for empirical research. Taking the 3-year interest rate of national debt as the risk-free interest rate, the opening and closing prices of Kweichow Maotai Co., Ltd, Shanxi Fenjiu Co., Ltd and Kouzijiao Co., Ltd, and Shanghai composite index and Shenwan Baijiu Industry Index from 2019 to 2022 are selected to calculate β, and the risk degree is determined according to the β range. According to the analysis, during the three-year pandemic, the expected rate of return of investment in the Chinese Baijiu industry is higher than the average market rate of return, and the risk level of Chinese Baijiu industry is higher than the risk of the entire market portfolio. In addition, the overall systematic risk of Chinese Baijiu industry is low. The research offers a guideline for investors in the A-share market to understand the real situation of companies in the Baijiu industry in all aspects and provide scientific value guidance for investors who prefer to make equity.

Abstract:Chinese liquor is a conventional fermented alcoholic beverage that plays an important role in East Asian traditional culture. Each person who lives in or wants to come to East Asia is familiar with Kweichow Moutai. Moreover, not only the adults know it, but also the small children do not feel strange with the brand of Kweichow Moutai, although they may not know what it is. There are so many different brands for liquor, why is the Kweichow Moutai so famous as the Chinese national liquor. This will raise questions, why Kweichow Moutai can reach such a height, both price and status, which has become the theme of research. Digging the reason why Kweichow Moutai can be successful can help other companies to learn experience from Kweichow Moutai so that they can improve themself. In order to explore this problem, this article analyzes the whole economical environment of China, the company's financial data and the decision made by Kweichow Moutai using Microsoft's PowerBI tool to perform a visual analysis of data. Data for this research were selected from the Tushare website. liquor as a special industry which has high level requirements for the process and resources makes each company have a chance to have their own special aspect to attract the customers. With the shock of the whole liquor industry around 2013 year, the veteran company Wuliangye lost control of the liquor industry due to their exposed problems. At the same time, Kweichow Moutai focuses on several main famous products and keeps them at a luxury level. The healthy financial data and clear decisions make Kweichow Moutai become Chinese national liquor.

Abstract:Coastal city enterprises are directly related to people's health and are considered to be a sunrise industry that does not fall, while the 14th Five-Year Plan proposes to vigorously develop coastal city enterprises. In this paper, the financial data of 20 coastal city enterprises in 2019 were selected as samples, and an index system reflecting the characteristics of coastal city enterprises was constructed and analyzed by factor analysis to obtain objective enterprise performance scores and rankings. The results show that the Chinese medicine industry has large disparities at different levels but relatively small disparities in the overall ranking. The highest overall score is Yunnan Baiyao, the highest profitability and shareholder return score is Jichuan Pharmaceutical, Ealing Pharmaceutical has the strongest solvency, Baiyunshan is the best at corporate asset inventory management, Yunnan Baiyao has the greatest asset expansion, and the Zhongheng Group has the best quality of accounts receivable. It is recommended that Chinese medicine companies should take into account their own situation, strengthen their core competitive ability, and improve their corporate performance.

Abstract:The Sichuan government has issued a series of policies and measures to ensure the high-quality development of spirits enterprises, based on the concept of high-quality development of the spirits industry. Luzhou Laojiao Distillery, as one of the representative enterprises of Sichuan spirits, has also undergone a number of reforms and breakthroughs. Based on the financial performance of Luzhou Laojiao Distillery over the last five years and using DuPont analysis, this paper studies the changes in financial performance of Luzhou Laojiao Distillery after reform, evaluates its development, and proposes reform suggestions to further promote the high-quality development of Luzhou Laojiao Distillery and provide some reference for enterprises in the same industry.

Abstract:Yunnan Baiyao Group Co., Ltd. has been actively expanding its business territory and product lines, led by its diversification strategy, thus achieving remarkable financial results. The company has also used scientific asset management strategies to optimize the allocation of resources and enhance the efficiency of asset utilization, while efficient operations have provided solid support for its diversified growth. However, the implementation of a diversification strategy also introduces specific financial risks and challenges. Increasing financial pressure and intensifying market competition have gradually emerged, which require Yunnan Baiyao Group Co., Ltd. to continuously improve its financial structure and strengthen risk management to ensure the durability and profitability of its strategy. Abstract:Since the invention of liquor in Song Dynasty, with the synchronous development of society, a large-scale industrial cluster has gradually formed. According to statistics, in 2022, the sales revenue of liquor enterprises above designated size in China reached 662.645 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.64%. Kweichow Moutai is one of the most famous liquor brands in China, enjoying a high reputation and wide recognition. As the main leader in the field of liquor manufacturing in China, it achieved an operating income of 127.554 billion yuan in 2022, up by 16.53% year-on-year, accounting for about one-fifth of the national liquor revenue. It belongs to a typical monopoly enterprise in the mootai-flavor liquor product industry. This study analyzes and evaluates the efficiency level of enterprise financial activities from three aspects: the quality of capital structure, the quality of assets and the quality of cash flow in Kweichow Moutai, and discusses the management level, operational efficiency and enterprise competitiveness of the company according to the annual report of the enterprise.

Abstract:Since the 18th Party Congress, the reform of state-owned enterprises has entered a pilot phase and accelerated. To improve corporate performance, a large number of outstanding enterprises have carried out mixed ownership reform. As a major restructured enterprise in Yunnan Province, Yunnan Baiyao's performance capability has been declining year by year under the influence of medical industry consolidation, but its brand value is high, so Yunnan's state-owned assets department has carried out mixed ownership reform of Yunnan Baiyao in order to be able to improve the financial performance of the enterprise. Using Yunnan Baiyao as a case study, this paper describes the process and motivation of the mixed ownership reform of Yunnan Baiyao, and analyzes the financial performance of Yunnan Baiyao before and after the mixed ownership reform in four dimensions, including profitability, solvency, development, and operational capacity, and the results show that the financial performance of the enterprise has been enhanced after the mixed ownership.

Results show that, on average, the profitability of Chinese listed companies has declined over the period. Post-IPO earnings also exhibit a downward trend. Abstract:<span>Baijiu is a traditional solid-state distilled liquor prepared from grain fermentation of China, with a more than 2,000 years of history. As the national liquor of China, Baijiu occupies an important position in China's food industry. In 2018, the total sales revenue of Baijiu industry reached 536.383 billion yuan and total annual profit was 147.645 billion yuan. Because of the complex raw materials, special technology and co-fermentation of multiple strains, the composition of Baijiu is complex. Of note, although the trace components only account for 2% of Baijiu, they contribute to the flavor and functional quality of Baijiu. As reported, these trace components mainly include alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, esters, acids, carbonyl compounds, nitrogen compounds, sulfur compounds, short peptides etc. Among them, volatiles play an important role on aroma profile and functional quality of Baijiu, while non-volatiles are the precursor of volatiles and the contents of them will influence the contents of volatiles in Baijiu, thereby affecting the flavor and functional quality of Baijiu as well. This perspective mainly introduces the technological process of Baijiu production, summarizes recent progress in the research on the trace components in Baijiu, especially for the influence of trace components on the flavor and functional quality of Baijiu.</span>

A Comprehensive Analysis of Stock Investment Recommendations Based on the Liquor Industry: Risk, Profitability, and Ratio Perspectives

Abstract:Focusing on the liquor industry, this study takes Kweichow Moutai Liquor Co., LTD., Shanxi Xinghuacun Fen Distillery Co., LTD., and Sichuan Tuopai Shed Liquor Co., LTD., as the objects, and provides targeted investment suggestions for different types of investors by analyzing risk, profitability, valuation and other indicators. The results show that Kweichow Moutai has an excellent performance in market value and ROA, which is suitable for index investment and ratio analysis investors. Shanxi Xinghuacun Fen Distillery attracts the attention of income investors with its high dividend rate; Sichuan Tuopai Shede Wine's low PE Ratio may attract value investors. Depending on the type of investment, we provide investment advice for index investors, ratio analysis investors, income investors, value investors, PEG investors, discounted cash flow investors, momentum investors, insider trading investors and share buyback investors. The results and analysis of this study can help investors more accurately evaluate the investment value of different liquor companies to meet their specific investment objectives and risk preferences.

Abstract:Baijiu, otherwise known as the national liquor of China, is a well-known distilled spirit that has been produced for over 2000 years. Baijiu is a clear and transparent fermented alcoholic beverage containing more than 1870 volatile compounds, including esters, alcohols, aromatics, ketones, heterocycles, nitrogenous compounds, acids, aldehydes, terpenes, sulfur compounds, acetals, and lactones. This perspective describes the baijiu production process, summarizes recent progress in the development and study of baijiu flavor chemistry, discusses the effect of fermentation processing on baijiu flavor, and presents novel development trends in the baijiu industry in the dual directions of flavor and health. Furthermore, the direction of research and development for modernization in the baijiu industry is discussed and proposed.

Abstract:The “14th Five-Year Plan" for the development of traditional Chinese medicine clearly states that "We should promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine inheritance and innovation". Under the favorable policy, the Chinese medicine industry has ushered in valuable development opportunities. However, some Chinese medicine enterprises have insufficient innovation ability, and the competition in the industry has been intensifying, and the quality of their profitability is of great concern. This paper takes Yunnan Baiyao as an example, and analyses its earnings quality from five dimensions: profitability, truthfulness, cash-change ability, growth and sustainability. Finally, we analyze the problems of Yunnan Baiyao's earnings quality problems and puts forward corresponding measures to solve them, in order to provide certain reference for the Chinese medicine industry to improve profitability quality.
