Abstract:This study focuses on the geometric exploration of helices in Minkowski $3-$ space. For this purpose, we study the problem of constructing a spacelike general helix, slant helix, or Darboux helix with a timelike principal from a given plane curve, fixed vector, and constant angle. We obtain a parametric representation for the helices whose projection is onto the plane $P$ perpendicular to the fixed vector $U$ share the same fixed vector. In addition, we furnish various illustrative examples showcasing the geometric characteristics of these helices.

Abstract:In classical differential geometry, the problem of the determination of the position vector of an arbitrary space curve according to the intrinsic equations $\kappa=\kappa(s)$ and $\tau=\tau(s)$ (where $\kappa$ and $\tau$ are the curvature and torsion of the space curve $\psi$, respectively) is still open \cite{eisenh, lips}. However, in the case of a plane curve, helix and general helix, this problem is solved. In this paper, we solved this problem in the case of a slant helix. Also, we applied this method to find the representation of a Salkowski, anti-Salkowski curves and a curve of constant precession, as examples of a slant helices, by means of intrinsic equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the position vectors of rectifying slant helices in $E^3$. First, we have found the general equations of the curvature and the torsion of rectifying slant helices. After that, we have constructed a second order linear differential equation and by solving the equation, we have obtained a family of rectifying slant helices which lie on cones.

Abstract:Let M be an n-dimensional closed hypersurface with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in a unit sphere. Denote by H and S the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form. We prove that if a(n, H) <= S <= alpha( n, H)+ CnH2, where n >= 4 and H not equal 0, then S = alpha( n, H) and M is a Clifford torus Sn-1(r(1)) x S-1(r(2)). Here alpha(n, H) = n + n(3)/2(n -1) H-2 - n(n - 2)/2(n - 1) root n(2)H(4) + 4(n - 1) H-2, and C-n is a positive constant explicitly depending on n. The emphasis is that our gap theorem imposes no restriction on the range of mean curvature. Moreover, we obtain gap theorems for complete hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in space forms.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate a curve whose spherical images (the tangent indicatrix and binormal indicatrix) are spherical slant helices and called it as a C−slant helix. This notation is a generalization of a slant helix and special case of k-slant helix defined by Ali (2012) . We obtain the axis of the curve and Theorem (3.5) via the alternative moving frame and the Sabban frame, respectively. Furthermore, we give some new characterizations of the C-slant helix and prove that a curve of C-constant precession is a C-slant helix.

Abstract:In this study, we have identified $V_3$ slant helix ($2^{nd}$ type slant helix, $V_5$ slant helix ($3^{rd}$ type slant helix) and attained some characteristic properties in the Euclidean 5-Space $E^5$. In addition to this, we have proven that there are no other helices other than $V_1$ helix (inclined curve), $V_3$ slant helix and $V_5$ slant helix in the 5-dimensional Euclidean space $E^5$.

Abstract:An off-lattice Monte Carlo method is used to study the conformations of semiflexible polymer chains confined in spheres. The local coil-helix transition is observed for the chains with moderate rigidity confined in small spheres, and the helical structures can be identified by the combination of the dihedral angles and the correlation functions between the tangent vectors. Through calculating the average number of monomers per helix turn, the average number of helix turns per chain, and the ratio of average helix pitch to average helix radius, we find that the radius of the confining sphere and the bending energy are the key factors in the formation of helical structures. This study can help us understand how DNA chains fold in confined spaces, such as viruses and cells.

Abstract:In classical curve theory, the geometry of a curve in three dimensions is essentially characterized by their invariants, curvature and torsion. When they are given, the problem of finding a corresponding curve is known as 'solving natural equations'. Explicit solutions are known only for a handful of curve classes, including notably the plane curves and general helices. This paper shows constructively how to solve the natural equations explicitly for an infinite series of curve classes. For every Frenet curve, a family of successor curves can be constructed which have the tangent of the original curve as principal normal. Helices are exactly the successor curves of plane curves and applying the successor transformation to helices leads to slant helices, a class of curves that has received considerable attention in recent years as a natural extension of the concept of general helices. The present paper gives for the first time a generic characterization of the slant helix in three-dimensional Euclidian space in terms of its curvature and torsion, and derives an explicit arc-length parametrization of its tangent vector. These results expand on and put into perspective earlier work on Salkowski curves and curves of constant precession, both of which are subclasses of the slant helix. Slant helices and Darboux helices in Myller Configuration

Abstract:In this paper, we study slant helix (or $\overset{\_}{\xi}_{2}$-helix) and Darboux helix in Myller configuration $M$. We show that a curve in $M$ is a slant helix if and only if it is a Darboux helix. We give the alternative frame of a curve in $M$. Furthermore, we obtain the differential equations characterizing the curves in $M$ by means of both Frenet type frame and alternative frame.

Abstract:In this paper, we study on three kinds of spacelike helicoidal surfaces in Minkowski $4$--space. First, we give an isometry between such helicoidal surfaces and rotational surfaces which is a kind of generalization of Bour theorem in Minkowski $3$--space to Minkowski $4$--space. Then, we investigate geometric properties for such isometric surfaces having same Gauss map. By using these results, we give the parametrizations of isometric pair of surfaces. As a particular case, we examine the right helicoidal surfaces in view of Bour's theorem. Also, we present some examples by choosing the components of the profile curves and the parameters of the surfaces via Mathematica.

Abstract:This study introduces a new type of general helix called associated helix which is associated to a special surface curve. The basic idea is to determinate the parametric form of an associated helix by means of Darboux frame and surface curvatures of a special surface curve such as helical curve, relatively normal-slant helix or isophote curve. For each surface curve, a differential equation system is obtained and by solving this system, parametric form of an associated helix is introduced.

Abstract:Given a function $\mathcal{H} \in C^1(\mathbb{S}^2)$, an $\mathcal{H}$-surface $\Sigma$ is a surface in the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^3$ whose mean curvature $H_\Sigma$ satisfies $H_\Sigma = \mathcal{H} \circ \eta$, where $\eta$ is the Gauss map of $\Sigma$. The purpose of this paper is to use a phase space analysis to give some classification results for helicoidal $\mathcal{H}$-surfaces, when $\mathcal{H}$ is rotationally symmetric, that is, $\mathcal{H} \circ \eta = \mathfrak{h} \circ \nu$, for some $\mathfrak{h} \in C^1([-1,1])$, where $\nu$ is the angle function of the surface. We prove a classification theorem for the case where $\mathfrak{h}(t)$ is even and increasing for $t \in [0,1]$. Finally, we provide examples of helicoidal $\mathcal{H}$-surfaces in cases where $\mathfrak{h}$ vanishes at some point.

Abstract:In this article, spherical indicatrices of a curve and helices are re-examined using both the algebraic structure and the geometric structure of non-Newtonian (multiplicative) Euclidean space. Indicatrices of a multiplicative curve on the multiplicative sphere in multiplicative space are obtained. In addition, multiplicative general helix, multiplicative slant helix and multiplicative clad and multiplicative g-clad helix characterizations are provided. Finally, examples and drawings are given.

Abstract:We derive various classification results for polyharmonic helices, which are polyharmonic curves whose geodesic curvatures are all constant, in space forms. We obtain a complete classification of triharmonic helices in spheres of arbitrary dimension. Moreover, we show that polyharmonic helices of arbitrary order with non-vanishing geodesic curvatures to space forms of negative curvature must be geodesics.

Abstract:Some new kinds of special curves called $\overset{\_}{\xi}$-helix, $\overset{% \_}{\xi}_{1}$-helix, $\overset{\_}{\mu}$-helix, $\overset{\_}{\nu}$-helix and $W_{k}$-Darboux helices $(k\in \left\{ {n,r,o}\right\} )$ in the Myller configuration $M(C,\overset{\_}{\xi },\pi )$ are defined and studied. The necessary and sufficient conditions for these curves are obtained, also the axes of those helices are given and the relationships between them are introduced.

Abstract:Leveraging on the results of [4], we carry out an investigation of the algebraic three-fold Σ C , h , the common level set of the Hamiltonian and the Casimir, for the two-body problem for equal masses on S 2 subject to a gravitational potential of cotangent type. We determine the topology of its compactification Σ ‾ C , h and how it bifurcates with respect to the admissible values of ( C , h ) , (C being the fixed value of the Casimir and h the fixed value of the Hamiltonian). This bifurcation diagram is actually equal to the bifurcation diagram that describes relative equilibria. We also prove that for h sufficiently negative Σ C , h is equipped with a global contact form obtained from the environment symplectic form via a suitable Liouville vector field.
