Abstract:Achieving higher accuracy and robustness stands as the central objective in the navigation field. In complex urban environments, the integrity of GNSS faces huge challenges and the performance of integrated navigation systems can be significantly affected. As the proportion of faulty measurements rises, it can result in both missed alarms and false positives. In this paper, a robust method based on factor graph is proposed to improve the performance of integrated navigation systems. We propose a detection method based on multi-conditional analysis to determine whether GNSS is anomalous or not. Moreover, the optimal weight of GNSS measurement is estimated under anomalous conditions to mitigate the impact of GNSS outliers. The proposed method is evaluated through real-world road tests, and the results show the positioning accuracy of the proposed method is improved by more than 60% and the missed alarm rate is reduced by 80% compared with the traditional algorithms.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper attempts to solve the problem that in complex urban environments, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals are easily interfered with, resulting in a significant decline in their performance in integrated navigation systems. Specifically, when the proportion of faulty measurements increases, it may lead to missed alarms and false positives. To improve this situation, the paper proposes a robust position estimation method based on Factor Graph, aiming to enhance the performance of the integrated navigation system. This method detects whether GNSS is abnormal through multi - condition analysis and estimates the optimal weight of GNSS measurements under abnormal conditions to mitigate the impact of GNSS outliers. Experimental results show that compared with traditional algorithms, the positioning accuracy of this method is improved by more than 60%, and the missed alarm rate is reduced by 80%. The main contributions of the paper include: 1. Proposing a loosely - coupled IMU/GNSS/ODO integrated navigation framework based on Factor Graph, which reduces the drift of the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) by introducing an odometer (ODO). 2. Proposing an Adaptive Weighted Estimation (AWE) algorithm, which can estimate the state and covariance simultaneously, and derives the principle of AWE from the perspective of Maximum A Posteriori (MAP). 3. Proposing a GNSS anomaly detection method based on multi - condition analysis. Through anomaly detection, the system can autonomously switch between two modes (original weighted estimation or adaptive weighted estimation), significantly reducing the missed alarm rate and the fault recovery time caused by parameter estimation delay. Through these improvements, the paper provides a more robust and accurate integrated navigation solution, especially suitable for high - precision positioning requirements in complex urban environments.
