Abstract:In this article, the modified extended direct algebraic method is applied for the perturbed highly dispersive nonlinear Schrödinger equation with conformable fractional derivative and sextic-power law refractive index. Various types of solutions are extracted such as bright solitons, dark solitons, combo bright-dark solitons, singular solitons, singular periodic wave solutions, exponential wave solutions and rational solutions. The impact of the fractional derivative is illustrated graphically using examples of some of the retrieved solutions with various values of fractional order.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to study optical solitons and other wave solutions in the perturbed highly dispersive conformal fractional - order nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a sixth - power - law refractive index. Specifically, the authors applied the improved extended direct algebraic method to solve this complex mathematical model and extract various types of solutions, such as bright solitons, dark solitons, combined bright - dark solitons, singular solitons, singular periodic wave solutions, exponential wave solutions and rational solutions. In addition, the dynamic characteristics of the extracted solutions were shown graphically, and the influence of the fractional - order derivative parameter \(a\) on these solutions was analyzed. The main problems mentioned in the paper can be summarized as follows: 1. **Complexity of the model**: This model is a very complex mathematical model, and it is very challenging to find its exact solutions. 2. **New types of solutions**: Study different types of solutions, such as bright solitons, dark solitons, combined bright - dark solitons, singular solitons, singular periodic wave solutions, exponential wave solutions and rational solutions. 3. **Influence of fractional - order derivatives**: Analyze the influence of conformal fractional - order derivatives on the solutions and show these influences graphically. 4. **Physical significance**: Explore the practical significance of these solutions in the fields of physics and engineering, especially for understanding the behavior of optical systems. Through these studies, the authors hope to provide theoretical support for understanding and predicting optical phenomena in highly dispersive media.
