Abstract:In prolegomena, The paper introduces the function of spatial index and kinds of methods to simply create Spatial Index. Spatial index is very important in geographical information systems and most of elements in GIS are lines or line complexes. Therefore, the paper modifies a line to creat arithmetic used in graphics to create spatial line index based on fixed grids and analyses arithmetic details based on 4 conditions. This arithmetic is simple and easy to be implemented.

Abstract:The concept of geometric-arithmetic index was introduced in the chemical graph theory recently, but it has shown to be useful. The aim of this paper is to obtain new inequalities involving the geometric-arithmetic index $GA_1$ and characterize graphs extremal with respect to them. Besides, we prove inequalities involving the geometric-arithmetic index of line graphs.

Abstract:In this paper, we analyze embeddings of grid graphs on orientable surfaces. We determine the genus of two infinite classes of 3-dimensional grid graphs that do not admit quadrilateral embeddings and effective upper bounds for the genus of any 3-dimensional grid graph, both in terms of a grid graph’s combinatorics. As an application, we provide a complete classification of planar and toroidal grid graphs. Our work requires a variety of combinatorial and graph theoretic arguments to determine effective lower bounds on the genus of a grid graph, along with explicitly constructing embeddings of grid graphs on surfaces to determine effective upper bounds on their genera.

Monotone Grid Drawings of Planar Graphs

Abstract:A monotone drawing of a planar graph $G$ is a planar straight-line drawing of $G$ where a monotone path exists between every pair of vertices of $G$ in some direction. Recently monotone drawings of planar graphs have been proposed as a new standard for visualizing graphs. A monotone drawing of a planar graph is a monotone grid drawing if every vertex in the drawing is drawn on a grid point. In this paper we study monotone grid drawings of planar graphs in a variable embedding setting. We show that every connected planar graph of $n$ vertices has a monotone grid drawing on a grid of size $O(n)\times O(n^2)$, and such a drawing can be found in O(n) time.

Abstract:For over 100 years, chemists, chemo-informatics and biochemists have explored the relationship between chemical structure and biological activity of a molecule using statistical tools (QSPR and QSAR studies, respectively) and have tried to predict them, as well as than other measurable properties. However, the use of graph theory and topological indices has become indispensable. In this case, this exploration can be done in several ways. In this article, we will deploy some bases of so-called molecular indices in order to optimize their calculation.
Geodetic Graphs: Experiments and New Constructions

Abstract:In 1962 Ore initiated the study of geodetic graphs. A graph is called geodetic if the shortest path between every pair of vertices is unique. In the subsequent years a wide range of papers appeared investigating their peculiar properties. Yet, a complete classification of geodetic graphs is out of reach. In this work we present a program enumerating all geodetic graphs of a given size. Using our program, we succeed to find all geodetic graphs with up to 25 vertices and all regular geodetic graphs with up to 32 vertices. This leads to the discovery of two new infinite families of geodetic graphs.

Graph Indices for Cartesian Product of -sum of Connected Graphs

Abstract:Background: A topological index is a real number associated with a graph that provides information about its physical and chemical properties and their correlations. Topological indices are being used successfully in Chemistry, Computer Science, and many other fields. Methods: In this article, we apply the well-known Cartesian product on F-sums of connected and finite graphs. We formulate sharp limits for some famous degree-dependent indices. Results: Zagreb indices for the graph operations T(G), Q(G), S(G), R(G), and their F-sums have been computed. By using orders and sizes of component graphs, we derive bounds for Zagreb indices, F-index, and Narumi-Katayana index. Conclusion: The formulation of expressions for the complicated products on F-sums, in terms of simple parameters like maximum and minimum degrees of basic graphs, reduces the computational complexities.

Abstract:Two isomorphic graphs can have inequivalent spatial embeddings in 3-space. In this way, an isomorphism class of graphs contains many spatial graph types. A common way to measure the complexity of a spatial graph type is to count the minimum number of straight sticks needed for its construction in 3-space. In this paper, we give estimates of this quantity by enumerating stick diagrams in a plane. In particular, we compute the planar stick indices of knotted graphs with low crossing numbers. We also show that if a bouquet graph or a theta-curve has the property that its proper subgraphs are all trivial, then the planar stick index must be at least seven.

Abstract:Very recently, a bond-additive topological descriptor, known as the Mostar index, has been proposed as a measure of peripherality in graphs and networks. In this article, we compute the Mostar index of corona product, Cartesian product, join, lexicographic product, Indu-Bala product and subdivision vertex-edge join of graphs and apply these results to find the Mostar index of various classes of chemical graphs and nanostructures.

Abstract:Vertex-degree-based indices have been widely used for describing and predicting physical, chemical and biological properties of molecules. They are expressed through the numbers mi,j of the edges connecting the vertices of degrees i and j. We generalize some known formulae for mi,j from graphs defined by simply connected sets of hexagons to those defined by sets of arbitrary topology in the regular hexagonal grid. We compute the most commonly used indices for three families of graphs in this grid.

Abstract:A graph $G$ is asymmetric if its automorphism group of vertices is trivial. Asymmetric graphs were introduced by Erdős and Rényi in 1963 where they measured the degree of asymmetry of an asymmetric graph. They proved that any asymmetric graph can be made non-asymmetric by removing some number $r$ of edges and/or adding adding some number $s$ of edges, and defined the degree of asymmetry of a graph to be the minimum value of $r+s$. In this paper, we define another property that how close a given non-asymmetric graph is to being asymmetric. We define the asymmetric index of a graph $G$, denoted $ai(G)$, to be the minimum of $r+s$ in order to change $G$ into an asymmetric graph.

Abstract:The arithmetic-geometric index AG(G) and the geometric-arithmetic index GA(G) of a graph G are defined as AG(G) = P uv∈E(G) dG(u)+dG(v) 2 √ dG(u)dG(v) and GA(G) = P uv∈E(G) 2 √ dG(u)dG(v) dG(u)+dG(v) , where E(G) is the edge set of G, and dG(u) and dG(v) are the degrees of vertices u and v, respectively. We study relations between AG(G) and GA(G) for graphs G of given size, minimum degree and maximum degree. We present lower and upper bounds on AG(G) + GA(G), AG(G) − GA(G) and AG(G) · GA(G). All the bounds are sharp.

Abstract:In this paper, a function on any pair of graphs is defined whose properties are similar to the properties of dot product in vector space. This function enables us to define graph orthogonality and, also, a new metric on isomorphism classes of $n$-vertex graphs. Using dot product of graphs, a coordinate system for graphs is provided which benefits us in graph isomorphism and related problems.

Minimal grid diagrams of the prime alternating knots with 13 crossings

Abstract:A knot is a closed loop in space without self-intersection. Two knots are equivalent if there is a self homeomorphism of space bringing one onto the other. An arc presentation is an embedding of a knot in the union of finitely many half planes with a common boundary line such that each half plane contains a simple arc of the knot. The minimal number of such half planes among all arc presentations of a given knot is called the arc index of the knot. A knot is usually presented as a planar diagram with finitely many crossings of two strands where one of the strands goes over the other. A grid diagram is a planar diagram which is a non-simple rectilinear polygon such that vertical edges always cross over horizontal edges at all crossings. It is easily seen that an arc presentation gives rise to a grid diagram and vice versa. It is known that the arc index of an alternating knot is two plus its minimal crossing number. There are 4878 prime alternating knots with minimal crossing number 13. We obtained minimal arc presentations of them in the form of grid diagrams having 15 vertical segments. This is a continuation of the works on prime alternating knots of 11 crossings and 12 crossings.

Abstract:We introduce the \emph{ID-index} of a finite simple connected graph. For a graph $G=(V,\ E)$ with diameter $d$, we let $f:V\longrightarrow \mathbb{R}$ assign \emph{ranks} to the vertices, then under $f$, each vertex $v$ gets a \emph{string}, which is a $d$-vector with the $i$-th coordinate being the sum of the ranks of the vertices that are of distance $i$ from $v$. The \emph{ID-index} of $G$, denoted by $IDI(G)$, is defined to be the minimum number $k$ for which there is an $f$ with $|f(V)|=k$, such that each vertex gets a distinct string under $f$. We present some relations between ID-graphs, which were defined by Chartrand, Kono, and Zhang, and their ID-indices; give a lower bound on the ID-index of a graph; and determine the ID-indices of paths, grids, cycles, prisms, complete graphs, some complete multipartite graphs, and some caterpillars.

Abstract:Graph theory is a topic that is still an important subject to discuss. This is because until now graph theory has many practical applications in various disciplines, for example in biology, computer science, economics, informatics engineering, linguistics, mathematics, health, and social sciences. This study discusses the Gutman index of nilradical graphs in the commutative ring with unity.A nilradical graph whose vertices are non-zero nilpotent elements, when the domain is a commutative ring with units, it forms a complete graph only if the commutative ring with units we use is limited to a positive integer modulo n (Z_n). Where n is the square of the prime number p which is less than equal to 3. It is known that the general pattern of harmonic indices and Gutman indices of nilradical graphs in the commutative ring with unity are H(N(Z_(n=p^2 ) ))=((p-2)^2+(p -2))/2(p-2) and Gut(N(Z_(n=p^2 ) ))=(1/2 ((p-2)^2+(p-2))) (p- 2)^2 respectively. In its application, this general form can be used as a numerical parameter of a graph in chemical graph theory, molecular topology, and mathematical chemistry.
A Novel Property of Generalized Fibonacci Sequence in Grids

Abstract:Fibonacci sequence, generated by summing the preceding two terms, is a classical sequence renowned for its elegant properties. In this paper, leveraging properties of generalized Fibonacci sequences and formulas for consecutive sums of equidistant subsequences, we investigate the ratio of the sum of numbers along main-diagonal and sub-diagonal of odd-order grids containing generalized Fibonacci sequences. We show that this ratio is solely dependent on the order of the grid, providing a concise and splendid identity.
