Abstract:A new fully reduced Hourglass-type {(P4Mo6)2Zn}-based compound, [(H6P4MoV 6O31)2Zn3]·3C10H10N2·8H2O (PMoZn-1), has been successfully synthesized under hydrothermal condition. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that PMoZn-1 contains an infinite two-dimensional layer connected by {(P4Mo6)2Zn} and Zn ions, which further constructs three-dimensional supramolecular structure by hydrogen bonds. The proton conduction (σ) and activation energy (E a) of PMoZn-1 are 5.74 × 10−5 S cm−1 and 0.42 eV under 80 ℃ and 98% RH. [(H7P4MoV 6O31)2Zn][Zn(C12H12N2)(H2O)]2[Zn(C12H12N2)(H2O)2]2·16H2O (PMoZn-2) was synthesized to compare the proton conductivity with PMoZn-1. Due to high proton mobility, free water molecules and coordinative unsaturated {PO4} in PMoZn-2, proton conductivity of PMoZn-2 is higher than PMoZn-1. The σ and E a can reach 6.65 × 10−3 S cm−1 and 0.63 eV for PMoZn-2, which indicates that PMoZn-2 may be a potential proton conductive material.
