Abstract:Objective To investigate the anatomic features and surgical repair of cardiac total anomalous pulmonary venous connection(TAPVC).Methods Twenty-five patients underwent cardiac TAPVC repair between April 1981 and December 2006.Seventeen were males and 8 were females.The operative age ranged from 26 days to 14 years,mean(2.56±3.56)years.The weight ranged from 3.3 kg to 21.0 kg,mean(6.85±10.06)kg.According to Darling method,25 cases were divided into two subgroups(ⅡA and ⅡB).Diagnosis was made in all cases by echocardiography and cardiac catheterization preoperatively.All the patients underwent total correction under cardiopulmonary bypass.Resultb There was no hospital mortality.The main postoperative complications were low cardiac output syndrome and pulmonary edema in two cases.All patients were followed-up with a range of 3 months to 26 years.Heart function of all patients was grade L There was no postoperative pulmonary venous obstruction in these groups.Conclusions The surgical repair should be performed once the diagnosis is made.It is crueial to accurately understand the anatomic features and determine a suitable septum before operation.

Abstract:To describe the anatomic variations of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) and its corresponding surgical techniques.A total of 143 TAPVC subjects were hospitalized from April 1981 to July 2010. Those patients with other complex congenital heart diseases, such as transposition of great artery and single ventricle, were excluded. A pathological diagnosis was made by echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, catheterization and intra-operative findings. The specific types of TAPVC were as follows:supra-cardiac (49.7%, 71/143), cardiac (40.6%, 58/143), infra-cardiac (4.2%, 6/143) and mixed (5.6%, 8/143). The subtypes were classified by the pathway of common confluence, distribution of pulmonary vein and their orifice site. The techniques of surgical repairs included modified Warden procedure and pulmonary vein transplantation.The patients with supra-cardiac type were further divided into 4 subtypes according to the course of vertical veins and their orifice site: right and left veins forming a common confluence, then draining into vertical and innominate veins (n = 65); common confluence of pulmonary vein drainage into superior vena cava through a short vertical vein at the right pulmonary hilus (n = 3); right and left pulmonary veins separately draining into superior vena cava (n = 2); common confluence draining into innominate vein through a right path beside trachea (n = 1). Cardiac types were further divided into 3 subtypes: coronary sinus (n = 20), right atrium (n = 37) and right atrium & sinus (n = 1). Infra-cardiac type had no subtype. Mixed type was more complex and it was further divided into 3 subtypes: bilateral & symmetrical connection (right 2 + left 2, n = 5); bilateral & asymmetrical connection (3 + 1, n = 3). Surgical repairs were performed on 135 patients. The surgical mortality of TAPVC was 5.9% (8/135). And there was no late death. The major causes of death were pulmonary infection and low cardiac output syndrome.A detailed classification of TAPVC is of great importance for surgical approaches and methodological designs. And an individualized surgical plan yields excellent patient outcomes.
Z-Scores for Fetal Left Atrial Size and Left Atrium-Descending Aorta Distance in Fetuses with Isolated Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection

Abstract:AbstractObjectivesTo construct Z‐score reference ranges for fetal left atrial (LA) size and left atrium–descending aorta distance (LDD or ‘post‐LA distance’) at 20 to 40 weeks' gestation and to compare these parameters between fetuses with isolated total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) and normal fetuses.MethodsThree hundred thirty‐three normal singleton fetuses from 20 to 40 weeks' gestation were enrolled in a prospective cross‐sectional study. Six cardiovascular dimensions were obtained by two‐dimensional echocardiography. Z‐score reference ranges of these measurements were determined against gestational age (GA) and fetal biometric variables, using regression analysis of the mean and standard deviation. Also, we reviewed fetal echocardiograms from ten fetuses with postnatal diagnosis of isolated TAPVC and made the measurements on archived images. Subsequently, all parameters were compared between the normal and TAPVC groups.ResultsA simple linear regression model was the best description of the mean and standard deviation of most variables in normal cases, with the exception of the mean LDD based on GA, which was best fitted by a quadratic regression. Fetuses with TAPVC had significantly lower LA size Z‐scores [80% (8/10) of which were under −2] and increased LDD Z‐scores [100% (10/10) of which were greater than 2]. Using an LDD Z‐score of >2.22 was both highly sensitive (100%) and specific (98.5%) for distinguishing between TAPVC and normal hearts.ConclusionNormal data and Z‐scores of fetal LA size and LDD were provided against GA and fetal biometry. This could be useful for quantitative assessment of fetal TAPVC. Increased post‐LA distance and decreased LA size may be markers for the prenatal diagnosis of TAPVC. © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
Echocardiographic evaluation of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection: Comparison of obstructed and unobstructed type

Abstract:This study aims to compare the differences between obstructed and unobstructed total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) using echocardiography, and to evaluate the clinical and echocardiographic parameters associated with pulmonary venous obstruction (PVO).We conducted a retrospective study of 70 patients with TAPVC between 2014 and 2019. The morphologic and hemodynamic echocardiographic parameters of patients were observed and measured, and the parameters between obstructed and unobstructed TAPVC were compared. The clinical and echocardiographic parameter differences between the two groups were used for ROC curve analysis.Obstructed TAPVC was found in 30 (42.9%) of 70 patients. Between obstructed and unobstructed TAPVC, there were significant differences in atrial septal defect size, pulmonary artery maximum velocity (PA Vmax ), peak E velocity of mitral valve, left ventricular fractional shortening, left ventricular ejection fraction, stroke volume and the incidence of patent ductus arteriosus, but there was no significant difference in birth weight. The first diagnosis age of obstructed TAPVC was earlier than unobstructed type. The ROC curve analysis for the first diagnosis age showed the sensitivity and specificity were 76.7%, 80% respectively. The ROC curve analysis for the PA Vmax showed the sensitivity and specificity were 88.5%, 67.6% respectively.Patients with TAPVC had a high incidence of PVO. The presence of PVO can affect the size of atrial septal defect and the closure of the ductus arteriosus, cause significant changes in PA Vmax, peak E velocity of mitral valve, left ventricular fractional shortening, left ventricular ejection fraction, stroke volume, lead to earlier symptoms and earlier first diagnosis age. The first diagnosis age and PA Vmax were excellent values since they associated with PVO.

Abstract:Objective To summarize the experience of surgical treatment of total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage in newborn.Methods From March 2002 to May 2012,the 154 cases of patients with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) were treated by operation in our department.There were 93 male and 61 female,aged from 12 days to 372 days with a mean of(101.8 ± 34.6) days,and weighted from 3.0 to 10.0 kg with a mean of (5.02 ± 2.96) kg.The specific types of TAPVC were supra-cardiac (50.6％,78/154),cardiac (40.2％,62/154),infra-cardiac (3.8％,6/154),and mixed (5.1％,8/154).Supracardic and infra-cardic TAPVC were chosen with side-to side anastomosis between the pulmonary veins confluence and the left atrium by median sternotomy.Cardic TAPVC were repaid by full cut off the top of coronary sinus,left atrium,and atrial septal tissue.The atrial septal defect(ASD) and let the ostium of the coronary sinus to left atrium was repaired.Cardiopulmonary bypass time was 39 ～ 173 (68.9 ± 37.3) ain ; aortic clamp time was 18 ～ 110 (41.3 ± 20.7) min.Results Total mortality rate was 8.4％ (13/154).The early mortality rate was 5.8％ (9/154),and the major cause of death was low cardiac output syndrome.The mid-term mortality rate was 2.6％ (4/154),and the major causes of death were pulmonary infection and postrepair pulmonary vein stenosis.Other patients were followed up from 1 months to 10 years,no death and anastomotic stenosis again operation in children.Echocardiographic results suggest that blood flow velocity in the anastomotic orifice was less than 1.4 m/s.Conclusions The clinical result of neonatal TAPVC who underwent operation treatment was satisfactory.
Echocardiographic manifestations of anomalous pulmonary venous drainage in 25 cases

Abstract:Purpose To evaluate the value of echocardiography in detection of anomalous pulmonary venous drainage(APVD). Methods Between June 2000 to June 2005,25 patients [14 male,11 female,mean age((29.56±10.38)) years] with APVD were diagnosed by transesophageal echocardiography(TEE) or surgery,including 7 total APVDs and 18 partial APVDs.Twenty-two of them underwent operation. Results All patients had dilated right ventricle and right atrium.14 of the 18 PAPVDs had atrial septal defect(ASD),4 of them had no other cardiac deformities.Six of the 7 cases with TAPVD(85.71%) were identified by transthoracic echocardiography(TTE),while only 9 cases of PAPVD(52.94%) were diagnosed or suspected by TTE. With TEE(only,) 84.62% of PAPVD cases could be detected.Combining TTE and TEE,92.31% cases with PAPVD could be correctly diagnosed. Conclusions For all patients with dilated right heart,no matter with ASD or not,the 4 pulmonary veins should be routinely explored.Combining TTE with TEE may improve the accuracy of diagnosis for APVD,especially for PAPVD.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To investigate partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC) with echocardiography.METHODS:The right ventricular volume overload was detected by routine echocardiography in 37 child patients, who underwent further echocardiography to find the abnormal locations of pulmonary vein opening at superior, inferior vena cava and right atrium. The ultrasound results were compared with surgical findings.RESULTS:In 30 patients the ultrasound diagnosis was consistent with surgery results, 7 were misdiagnosed by ultrasound with a detective rate of 81.1 %. All 37 PAPVC patients presented varying degrees of right heart enlargement; PAPVC combined with atrial septal defect (ASD) was found in 34 cases.CONCLUSION:The possibility of PAPVC should be considered when unexplained right heart volume overload was detected by echocardiography. Superior, inferior vena cava and right atrium should be inspected when the pulmonary veins were not seen in echocardiography.

Abstract:In this case report, we present the delayed diagnosis of an atypical partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection, which was initially misdiagnosed as primary pulmonary arterial hypertension. It was difficult to make a conclusive diagnosis using transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), because the two high right superior pulmonary veins drained into the superior vena cava and limited the shunt of patent foramen ovale. Preoperative TTE only showed right heart volume overload, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and severe tricuspid valve insufficiency. A chest CT-angiography (angio-CT) finally found the anomalous right superior pulmonary venous connection, which was further confirmed by surgery. The postoperative course was uneventful.

Partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection associated with hemoptysis: A case report.

Abstract:Rationale: Partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC) is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by the failure of fusion of embryologic pulmonary venous system with left atrium. Patient Concerns: A 45-year-old male patient with PAPVC who was hospitalized because of mild hemoptysis. Images showed the anomalous vein originated from the left upper pulmonary vein and flowed into the left brachiocephalic vein. No other underlying causes for hemoptysis were detected. Diagnosis: After multi-disciplinary discussion, the patient was diagnosed as PAPVC of left upper pulmonary vein draining into the left brachiocephalic vein with intact atrial septum. Interventions: Although surgical correction of PAPVC was feasible, left upper lobectomy was performed as the definitive treatment for both hemoptysis and PAPVC. Outcomes: The patient had an uneventful postoperative hospital course and was followed up for nearly 2 years without recurrence of hemoptysis. Lessons: PAPVC is associated with atrial septal defect in 80% to 90% of cases while isolated PAPVC with intact atrial septum is an extremely rare entity. We present a rare isolated PAPVC patient with hemoptysis. To our best knowledge, PAPVC associated with hemoptysis has never been reported before.

Abstract:Objective: To improve the diagnostic accuracy of transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) by analyzing its limitations in diagnosing partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage (PAPVD). Method: This was a retrospective analysis of PAPVD patients seen at the Children's Hospital of Fudan University from October 1 2006 to October 1 2016. The echocardiographic data were compared to findings on multi-slice spiral CT (MSCT), cardiac catheterization or surgery. The echocardiography machines used were Philip IE33, GE Vivid 7 and Vivid i with frequency ranging from 5.0 MHz to 7.5 MHz. The cardiac structure was analyzed according to Van Praagh segments. Result: A total of 43 cases of PAPVD were enrolled, male∶ female ratio 20∶23 with average age (27.9±21.4) months. Among them, 3 cases were simple PAPVD and 40 cases had other associated congenital heart diseases. TTE was successful in diagnosing 29 cases (67%) while 14 cases were missed. The diagnostic rate for right pulmonary vein drainage into superior vena cava, right atrium, inferior vena cava were 5/10, 17/20, and 3/5 respectively while left pulmonary vein drainage into left innominate vein was only 1/4. Added TTE images to re-exam the 9 of the 14 missed cases, 5 cases of abnormal drainage from right superior pulmonary vein were diagnosed, while 4 cases of drainage from right lower or left pulmonary vein were only picked up by indirect signs. Conclusion: The distance of the pulmonary veins from the routine ultrasound view and the possibility of branch number variation may limit the accuracy of TTE in diagnosing PAPVD, especially for drainage from right lower and left pulmonary vein. But TTE is still the preferred diagnostic method. The diagnostic rate could be increased by paying special attention to non-routine views including the suprasternal fossa, the right parasternal and subcostal area.

Abstract:Objective:To summarize and evaluate the therapeutic effect of total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage with obstruction.Methods:The clinical data of 189 children treated with TAPVC surgery in Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2010 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed, including 36 cases in the obstruction group and 153 cases in the non-obstruction group.The obstruction group contained 20 males and 16 females with age 1~140 (29.1±28.7) d and body weight at the time of operation 2.4~6.5 (3.6±0.9) kg.According to the postoperative death, the patients were further divided into the obstruction death group (5 cases) and the obstruction survival group (31 cases). Compare two groups of preoperative lactic acid levels, preoperative left ventricular end-diastolic volume index, extracorporeal circulation time, postoperative mechanical ventilation time, postoperative Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support cases, delayed chest closure cases, multifunctional organ failure cases, peritoneal dialysis cases, arrhythmia cases, postoperative pulmonary hypertension crisis cases and pulmonary venous obstruction cases.35 cases were done with the vertical veins ligation and establishment of the connection between pulmonary vein and left atrium, without sutureless technique of pericardium in situ.Results:Comparing the obstruction group and the non-obstruction group, ages were (29.1±28.7) vs.(98.3±121.6) days, body weight (3.6±0.9) vs.(5.1±3.4) kg, neonatal cases 21 (58.3%) vs.32 (20.9%), pulmonary venous velocity (1.4±0.5) vs.(1.1±0.4) m/s, delayed chest closure cases 15(41.6%) vs.10(6.5%), death cases 5(13.9%) vs. 10(6.5%). There were statistically significant differences in age, body weight, neonatal proportion, pulmonary venous velocity, delayed chest closure and death between the two groups ( P<0.05). Comparing the obstruction death group and the obstruction survival group, lactic acid levels were (6.7±3.8) vs.(2.5±1.2) mmol/L, left ventricular end-diastolic volume indices (27.1±19.5) vs.(29.2±16.8) mL/m 2, extracorporeal circulation time (216.3±64.3) vs.(159.3±73.4) mins, postoperative mechanical ventilation time (17.5±13.5) vs.(4.8±5.2) d, ECMO support cases 3 (60%) vs.1 (3.2%), delayed chest closure cases 4(80%) vs.11(35.5%), multifunctional organ failure cases 3 (60%) vs.0, peritoneal dialysis cases 4(80%) vs.16(51.6%), arrhythmia 2(40%) vs.3(9.7%), pulmonary hypertension crisis cases 3(60%) vs.1(3.2%), pulmonary venous obstruction cases 2(40%) vs.4(12.9%) respectively.There were statistically significant differences in preoperative lactic acid, extracorporeal circulation time, postoperative mechanical ventilation time, ECMO support cases, multifunctional organ failure cases and postoperative pulmonary hypertension crisis cases between the two groups ( P<0.05). No pulmonary vein obstruction was found in the surviving children after 6 months of follow-up. Conclusion:The operative mortality of children with complete pulmonary vein obstruction was high.Various techniques were used to expand the anastomosis during the operation.The early death was related to multiple organ failure and the perioperative application of ECMO, delayed chest closure and peritoneal dialysis can reduce the mortality.Pulmonary vein obstruction induced to the medium and long-term death.

Abstract:Background: Partial anomalous venous connections (PAPVC) are associated with left to right shunting and right heart dilatation. Identification of PAPVC has increased with widespread use of cross-sectional imaging modalities. However, management strategies are mostly based on expert opinion given the scarcity of data from large series. We aimed to define types and significance of isolated and atrial septal defect (ASD) associated PAPVC detected by cardiovascular magnetic resonance. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed our cardiovascular magnetic resonance database from 2002 to 2018 to identify isolated or ASD-associated PAPVC cases. Results: A total of 215 patients (median age 46 years; range, 6-83) with isolated or ASD-associated PAPVC were identified among 102 135 clinical cardiovascular magnetic resonance studies. Of these, 104 were isolated and 111 were associated with an ASD. Anomalous connection of right upper pulmonary vein was the most common single venous anomaly (99/215), but in the isolated PAPVC group there were more anomalous left than right upper pulmonary veins (39 versus 34). The Qp/Qs was significantly higher for isolated anomalous single right upper pulmonary vein than left upper pulmonary vein (1.6 versus 1.4 respectively; P=0.01) as were right ventricular end-diastolic volumes (113.7±30.9 versus 90 [57-157] mL/m2, P=0.004). In the PAPVC with an ASD group, sinus venosus ASDs (82%) were associated with right-sided PAPVCs while both right and left-sided venous anomalies were seen in secundum ASDs (18%). In a substantial number of patients (30 out of 91) with sinus venosus ASDs, PAPVCs were more complex and involved more than a single anomalous right upper pulmonary vein; and in 5 patients with ASD, PAPVC was identified only after the ASD closure. Conclusions: This large series provides descriptive and hemodynamic features for isolated and ASD-associated PAPVCs. Anomalous isolated right upper pulmonary vein may cause a significant shunt (Qp/Qs >1.5). PAPVC associated with sinus venosus and secundum ASDs might be more complex than a single anomalous pulmonary vein and missed before ASD correction.
Quantification of 3-Dimensional Confluence-Atrial Morphology in Supracardiac Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection

Abstract:Background: Pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS) continues to be a major complication after surgical repair of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC). Recent studies suggest that the morphology of pulmonary venous confluence and the left atrium (LA) is associated with PVS. However, there are limited data on the prognostic value of integrating quantitative confluence-atrial morphology into risk stratification. Objectives: This study sought to evaluate the prognostic impact of novel imaging metrics derived from 3-dimensional (3D) computed tomography angiography (CTA) modeling on postsurgical PVS (PPVS) in the supracardiac TAPVC (sTAPVC) setting. Methods: Patients undergoing sTAPVC repair in 2017 to 2022 from 3 centers were retrospectively reviewed. Study investigators developed 3D CTA modeled geometric features to quantify confluence-atrial morphology that were analyzed with regard to PPVS. Results: Of the 162 patients (median age 61 days; 55% having preoperative pulmonary venous obstruction [prePVO]) included, 47 (29%) with PPVS at a median of 1.5 months ([quartile 1-quartile 3: 1.5-3.0 months]). In the univariable analysis, the indexed total volume of the LA and confluence (iTVLC) and the ratio of the corresponding confluence length to the mean distance between the LA and confluence (CCL/mDBLC ratio) were significantly associated with PPVS. In a multivariable model adjusting for prePVO and age, the iTVLC and CCL/mDBLC ratio independently predicted PPVS (HR: 1.15; 95% CI: 1.06-1.25; and HR: 1.20; 95% CI: 1.08-1.35, respectively, all P < 0.01). Specifically, an iTVLC ≥20 cm3/m2 and a CCL/mDBLC ratio ≥7.7 were significantly associated with a reduced risk of PPVS. Conclusions: Quantification of 3D confluence-atrial morphology appears to offer a deeper and better metric to predict PPVS in patients with sTAPVC.

Abstract:Partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC) is an uncommon congenital heart disease, which may be difficult to identify and often remains undiagnosed. Accurate diagnosis of major aortopulmonary collaterals and partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage in patients with congenital heart disease is important but problematic. The goal of this publication is to present the diagnosis and surgical repair of this rare pathology in an eight-year-old boy. Atrial septal defect was found by echocardiography, but no anomalous pulmonary vein was found. However, multi-slice computed tomographic angiography (MSCTA) revealed that the isolated right superior pulmonary vein was replaced by right superior pulmonary vein 1 (RSPV1), right superior pulmonary vein 2 (RSPV2) and right superior pulmonary vein 3 (RSPV3), which connected to the superior vena cava (SVC), the orifice of SVC, and the left atrium, respectively. The patient underwent the repair of PAPVC with division of the SVC and re-implantation on the right atrial appendage to restore normal systemic venous drainage. Postoperative course was uneventful. In conclusion, PAPVC is a rare congenital cardiac pathology. MSCTA could contribute to an accurate anatomic and functional definition of this variant.
Next-generation Sequencing Identifies Novel Genes with Rare Variants in Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection

Abstract:BACKGROUND:Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) is recognized as a rare congenital heart defect (CHD). With a high mortality rate of approximately 80%, the survival rate and outcomes of TAPVC patients are not satisfactory. However, the genetic aetiology and mechanism of TAPVC remain elusive. This study aimed to investigate the underlying genomic risks of TAPVC through next-generation sequencing (NGS).METHODS:Rare variants were identified through whole exome sequencing (WES) of 78 sporadic TAPVC cases and 100 healthy controls using Fisher's exact test and gene-based burden test. We then detected candidate gene expression patterns in cells, pulmonary vein tissues, and embryos. Finally, we validated these genes using target sequencing (TS) in another 100 TAPVC cases.FINDINGS:We identified 42 rare variants of 7 genes (CLTCL1, CST3, GXYLT1, HMGA2, SNAI1, VAV2, ZDHHC8) in TAPVC cases compared with controls. These genes were highly expressed in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), mouse pulmonary veins and human embryonic hearts. mRNA levels of these genes in human pulmonary vein samples were significantly different between cases and controls. Through network analysis and expression patterns in zebrafish embryos, we revealed that SNAI1, HMGA2 and VAV2 are the most important genes for TAPVC.INTERPRETATION:Our study identifies novel candidate genes potentially related to TAPVC and elucidates the possible molecular pathogenesis of this rare congenital birth defect. Furthermore, SNAI1, HMGA2 and VAV2 are novel TAPVC candidate genes that have not been reported previously in either humans or animals. FUND: National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Aetiological distribution of pulmonary hypertension and the value of transthoracic echocardiography screening in the respiratory department: A retrospective analysis from China

Abstract:Methods: The aetiological composition and clinical characteristics of patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH) hospitalised in the respiratory department were retrospectively analysed, as well as the correlation between transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and right heart catheterization (RHC) for evaluating pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) and mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP). Results: Of 731 patients, 544 (74.42%) were diagnosed with PH by RHC. Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) was the most common type of PH, accounting for 30.10%; PH due to lung disease and/or hypoxia accounted for 20.79%, and PH due to pulmonary artery obstructions accounted for 19.29%. TTE has the highest specificity for diagnosing PH due to pulmonary artery obstructions. The specificity was 0.9375, the sensitivity was 0.7361 and the area under the ROC curve (AUC) was 0.836. PASP, and mPAP estimated by TTE were different for various types of PH. In terms of PASP, TTE overestimated PASP in PH due to lung disease and/or hypoxia, but there was no significant difference compared with RHC (P > 0.05). TTE underestimates PAH patients' PASP compared with RHC. In terms of mPAP, TTE underestimated the mPAP of all types of PH, as there was a significant difference in the TTE-estimated mPAP of patients with PAH compared with RHC but not on other types of PH. Pearson correlation analysis of TTE and RHC showed a moderate overall correlation (rPASP 0.598, P < 0.001; rmPAP 0.588, P < 0.001). Conclusions: Among the patients with PH in the respiratory department, patients with PAH accounted for the majority. TTE has high sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of PH due to pulmonary artery obstructions in the respiratory department.
