Abstract:Gardenia jasminoides Ellis, a dried and mature fruit of the Rubiaceae family plant, is a traditional Chinese medicine with rich medicinal and nutritional value that is designated by the city and the state as a dual use medicine. In recent years, studies have found that Gardenia jasminoides has an anti-tumor effect. Some active ingredients in Gardenia jasminoides can inhibit the growth and proliferation of cancer cells, and can also induce apoptosis of cancer cells, so as to play an anti-tumor role, especially in anti colon cancer, anti liver cancer, anti breast cancer and anti lung cancer. By summarizing and analyzing the research on the anticancer effect and mechanism of Gardenia jasminoides, it has important practical guiding significance to reasonably utilize the various anticancer active substances contained in Gardenia jasminoides, develop new tumor treatment drugs or cancer prevention foods, reduce the risk of exposure to chemical synthetic drugs, and improve the quality of life of patients.
