Abstract:In this paper, a novel method presented in [1] is applied to solve time-fractional Kudryashov-Sinelshchikov equation (KS equation), a nonlinear fractional partial differential equation (NFPDE). This method is highly effective in obtaining approximate solutions for strongly NFPDEs. The accuracy of the method is evaluated by estimating the error between the exact and approximate solutions. By applying this method, we obtain solutions for the KS equation at different values of the fractional order derivative and at different stages of time. These solutions are presented through tables and graphs, highlighting the behavior of the KS equation under various conditions.

Abstract:By introducing the fractional derivative in the sense of Caputo and combining the pretreatment technique to deal with long nonlinear items, the generalized two-dimensional differential transform method is proposed for solving the time-fractional Hirota-Satsuma coupled KdV equation and coupled MKdV equation. The presented method is a numerical method based on the generalized Taylor series expansion which constructs an analytical solution in the form of a polynomial. The numerical results show that the generalized two-dimensional differential transform method is very effective for the fractional coupled equations.

Abstract:In the present paper we propose a novel analytical technique to obtain the solution of nonlinear partial differential equations. Additionally, we also implement the proposed method to find out the solution of fractional Kudryashov–Sinelshchikov equation. Since the Kudryashov–Sinelshchikov equation exhorts the pressure waves in mixture of liquid gas bubble while considering the viscosity and heat transport. Here regularized version of Hilfer–Prabhakar derivative of fractional order is utilized to model the problem. The obtained results are presented graphically for some specific values of constants and for distinct values of fractional order at different stages of time. The graphical behaviour of results show that the proposed method is very efficient to solve the nonlinear partial differential equations and reliable.

Abstract:Generalized fractional operators are generalization of the Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional derivatives, which include Erdélyi-Kober and Hadamard operators as their special cases. Due to the complicated form of the kernel and weight function in the convolution, it is even harder to design high order numerical methods for differential equations with generalized fractional operators. In this paper, we first derive analytical formulas for α-th (α>0) order fractional derivative of Jacobi polynomials. Spectral approximation method is proposed for generalized fractional operators through a variable transform technique. Then, operational matrices for generalized fractional operators are derived and spectral collocation methods are proposed for differential and integral equations with different fractional operators. At last, the method is applied to generalized fractional ordinary differential equation and Hadamard-type integral equations, and exponential convergence of the method is confirmed. Further, based on the proposed method, a kind of generalized grey Brownian motion is simulated and properties of the model are analyzed.

Abstract:In the current paper, the numerical solutions for a class of fractional advection–diffusion equations with a kind of new generalized time-fractional derivative proposed last year are discussed in a bounded domain. The fractional derivative is defined in the Caputo type. The numerical solutions are obtained by using the finite difference method. The stability of numerical scheme is also investigated. Numerical examples are solved with different fractional orders and step sizes, which illustrate that the numerical scheme is stable, simple and effective for solving the generalized advection–diffusion equations. The order of convergence of the numerical scheme is evaluated numerically, and the first-order convergence rate has been observed.

Abstract:In this article, we construct the exact solutions of Kudryashov–Sinelshchikov equation (KSE) which is the generalization of KdV and describes the nonlinear waves in mixtures of gas–liquid in the absence of viscosity. We apply the Sardar-subequation method and the new extended hyperbolic function method to construct the exact solutions of KSE. Various novel computational solutions are demonstrated by two distinct types of sketches. These solutions reveal that current techniques are appropriate, fruitful and straightforward.

Abstract:The Adomian decomposition method is a semi-analytical method for solving ordinary and partial nonlinear differential equations. The aim of this paper is to apply Adomian decomposition method to obtain approximate solutions of nonlinear fractional order partial differential equations with fractional derivatives. The fractional derivatives are taken in the sense of Caputo. The solutions of fractional PDEs are calculated in the form of convergent series. Approximate solutions obtained through the decomposition method have been numerically evaluated, and presented in the form of graphs and tables, and then these solutions are compared with the exact solutions and the results rendering the explicitness, effectiveness and good accuracy of the applied method. Finally, it is observed that the applied method (i.e. Adomian decomposition method) is prevailing and convergent method for the solutions of nonlinear fractional-order partial deferential problems.

Abstract:This article deals with designing and analyzing a higher order stable numerical analysis for the time‐fractional Kuramoto–Sivashinsky (K‐S) equation, which is a fourth‐order non‐linear equation. The fractional derivative of order γ∈(0,1) present in the considered problem is taken into Caputo sense and approximated using the L1−2 scheme. In space direction, the discretization process uses quintic B ‐spline functions to approximate the derivatives and the solution of the problem. The present approach is unconditionally stable and is convergent with rate of accuracy O(h2+k2) , where h and k denote the space and time step sizes, respectively. We have also noted that the linearized version of the K‐S equation leads the rate of accuracy to O(h2+k3−γ) . The present approach is also highly effective for the time‐fractional Burgers' equation. We have shown that the present approach provides better accuracy than the L1 scheme with the same computational cost for several linear/non‐linear problems, with classical as well as fractional time derivatives.

Abstract:Due to the non-local property of the fractional derivative, the analytic solutions of fractional differential equations are hardly available in most cases. Consequently, researches on the numerical solutions of fractional differential equations are of great importance. In this paper, we will propose a new numerical method to obtain the solutions of the Caputo-type fractional differential equations. The error analysis is given to prove the accuracy of our method when the order of the fractional derivative satisfying . The numerical experiments also show that both linear fractional equations and nonlinear fractional equations can be solved with this method.

Abstract:This article is concerned with an approximate analytical solution for the time fractional Kudryashov Sinelshchikov equation by using the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method. The main tools of this method are reproducing kernel theory, some important Hilbert spaces, the normal basis, orthogonalisation process, and homogenization. The effectiveness of reproduc ing kernel Hilbert space method is presented through the tables and graphs. These computa tional results indicate that this method is highly accurate and efficient for the time fractional Kudryashov Sinelshchikov equation. Also, it is demonstrated that the approximate solution uniformly converges to exact solution by using reproducing kernel Hilbert space method.

Abstract:In this manuscript, the analytical solution to the general time fractional diffusion equation followed by the regularity analysis of its solution is presented. Further, a hybrid efficient numerical algorithm for a general fractional derivative of order α∈(0,1) is designed. The physical application of the developed approximation formula is employed to design a hybrid numerical algorithm to determine the numerical solution of the corresponding general time fractional diffusion equation. The proposed numerical techniques are subjected to solvability, numerical stability, and convergence analysis. Numerical example is utilized to verify that (3−α) -th order convergence is attained in time which is higher than the existing scheme (Xu et al., 2013). In the spatial direction, the fourth order convergence is obtained utilizing the compact finite difference method. Besides, such a hybrid numerical algorithm is also used in the stochastic model.

Abstract:An alternative method for solving the fractional kinetic equations solved earlier by Haubold and Mathai (2000) and Saxena et al. (2002, 2004a, 2004b) is recently given by Saxena and Kalla (2007). This method can also be applied in solving more general fractional kinetic equations than the ones solved by the aforesaid authors. In view of the usefulness and importance of the kinetic equation in certain physical problems governing reaction-diffusion in complex systems and anomalous diffusion, the authors present an alternative simple method for deriving the solution of the generalized forms of the fractional kinetic equations solved by the aforesaid authors and Nonnenmacher and Metzler (1995). The method depends on the use of the Riemann-Liouville fractional calculus operators. It has been shown by the application of Riemann-Liouville fractional integral operator and its interesting properties, that the solution of the given fractional kinetic equation can be obtained in a straight-forward manner. This method does not make use of the Laplace transform.

Abstract:The main aim of this paper is to study the exact traveling wave solutions of the generalized Kudryashov–Sinelshchikov equation by using the auxiliary equation method based on the conclusion of qualitative analysis. The advantage of this method is to choose the effective and proper auxiliary equation on the base of the behaviors and traits of solutions revealed by analysis of phase portraits to study the solution of differential equations. By applying the proposed approach to the generalized Kudryashov–Sinelshchikov equation, the number, behavior and existence of smooth and non-smooth traveling wave solutions are gained, at the same time, the new exact smooth solitary, periodic wave solutions and cusp solitary, periodic wave solutions are obtained. From the dynamic point of view, the behavior of traveling wave solutions is analyzed. The profile,type and the form of exact expression of traveling wave solutions are influenced by the order of nonlinear term and nonlinear terms.

Abstract:Abstract In this investigation, the fractional Hirota–Satsuma coupled Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) problem is solved using two modern semi-analytic techniques known as the Aboodh residual power series method (ARPSM) and Aboodh transform iteration method (ATIM). The two suggested approaches are briefly explained, along with how to use them to solve the fractional Hirota–Satsuma coupled KdV problem. Some analytical approximate solutions for the current problem are derived using the proposed techniques until the second-order approximation. To ensure high accuracy of the derived approximation, they are analyzed numerically and graphically and compared with the exact solutions of the integer cases. The offered techniques demonstrate more accuracy in their outcomes compared to other alternatives. The numerical results show that ARPSM and ATIM are highly accurate, practical, and beneficial for solving nonlinear equation systems. The current results are expected to help many physics researchers in modeling their different physical problems, especially those interested in plasma physics.

Abstract:In this paper, we present an efficient method for solving a class of higher order fractional differential equations with general boundary conditions. The convergence of the numerical method is proved and an error estimate is given. Finally, eight numerical examples, both linear and nonlinear, are presented to demonstrate the accuracy of our method. The proposed method introduces suitable base functions to calculate the approximate solutions and only requires us to deal with the linear or nonlinear systems. Thus, our method is convenient to implement. Furthermore, the numerical results show that the proposed method performs better compared to the existing ones.

Abstract:In this paper, two types of fractional nonlinear equations in Caputo sense, time fractional Newell-Whitehead equation (FNWE) and time fractional generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled KdV system (HS-cKdVS), are investigated by means of q-homotopy analysis method (q-HAM). The approximate solutions of proposed equations are constructed in the form of convergent series and are compared with the corresponding exact solutions. Due to the presence of the auxiliary parameter h in this method, just few terms of the series solution are required in order to obtain better approximation. For the sake of the visualization, the numerical results obtained in this paper are graphically displayed with the help of Maple.

Approximate Solutions to Fractional Subdiffusion Equations: The heat-balance integral method

Abstract:The work presents integral solutions of the fractional subdiffusion equation by an integral method, as an alternative approach to the solutions employing hypergeometric functions. The integral solution suggests a preliminary defined profile with unknown coefficients and the concept of penetration (boundary layer). The prescribed profile satisfies the boundary conditions imposed by the boundary layer that allows its coefficients to be expressed through its depth as unique parameter. The integral approach to the fractional subdiffusion equation suggests a replacement of the real distribution function by the approximate profile. The solution was performed with Riemann -Liouville time-fractional derivative since the integral approach avoids the definition of the initial value of the time-derivative required by the Laplace transformed equations and leading to a transition to Caputo derivatives. The method is demonstrated by solutions to two simple fractional subdiffusion equations (Dirichlet problems): 1) Time-Fractional Diffusion Equation, and 2) Time-Fractional Drift Equation, both of them having fundamental solutions expressed through the M-Write function. The solutions demonstrate some basic issues of the suggested integral approach, among them: a) Choice of the profile, b) Integration problem emerging when the distribution (profile) is replaced by a prescribed one with unknown coefficients; c) Optimization of the profile in view to minimize the average error of approximations; d) Numerical results allowing comparisons to the known solutions expressed to the M-Write function and error estimations.

Abstract:In this paper, a numerical approximation is shown to solve solutions of time fractional linear differential equations of variable order in fluid mechanics where the considered fractional derivatives of variable order are in the Caputo sense. Existence, uniqueness of solutions and Ulam–Hyers stability results are displayed. To solve the considered equations a numerical approximation based on the shifted Legendre polynomials are proposed. To perform the method, an operational matrix of fractional derivative with variable-order is derived for the shifted Legendre polynomials to be applied for developing the unknown function. By substituting the aforesaid operational matrix into the considered equations and using the properties of the shifted Legendre polynomials together with the collocation points, the main equations are reduced to a system of algebraic equations. The approximate solution is calculated by solving the obtained system which is technically easier for checking. We also study the error analysis for the approximate solution yielded by the introduced method. Finally, the accuracy and performance of the proposed method are checked by some illustrative examples. The illustrative examples results establish the applicability and usefulness of the proposed method.

Abstract:We study a numerical approximation for a nonlinear variable-order fractional differential equation via an integral equation method. Due to the lack of the monotonicity of the discretization coefficients of the variable-order fractional derivative in standard approximation schemes, existing numerical analysis techniques do not apply directly. By an approximate inversion technique, the proposed model is transformed as a second kind Volterra integral equation, based on which a collocation method under uniform or graded mesh is developed and analyzed. In particular, the error estimates improve the existing results by proving a consistent and sharper mesh grading parameter and characterizing the convergence rates in terms of the initial value of the variable order, which demonstrates its critical role in determining the smoothness of the solutions and thus the numerical accuracy.
