Abstract:Bhusal et al. show that peptidoglycan-recognition protein PGLYRP1 is highly induced in glial cells in the inflamed central nervous system. Silencing of Pglyrp1 suppresses glial reactivity, reduces neuroinflammation, limits behavioral disturbances, and accelerates recovery from injury. This study identifies microglial PGLYRP1 as a neuroinflammation mediator.
