Abstract:The genus Pseudocerocoma Pic, 1919 (Coleoptera: Cantharidae: Ichthyurini) was previously recognized as a monotypic genus. Based on material from Antioquia, Colombia, we describe and illustrate Pseudocerocoma tulenapa sp. nov. It differs from the other known species of the genus in the shape of the antennae and the abdominal segment 8, as well as in some aspects of coloration. This new species provides additional evidence for the position of Pseudocerocoma Pic, 1919 as a separate genus from Malthoichthyurus Pic, 1919, also represents the first record of the tribe Ichthyurini in Colombia and shows the importance of the conservation actions carried out in the only known locality, the Tulenapa Biological Station of the Universidad de Antioquia.

Abstract:The genus Coleoscirus Berlese, 1916, is revised and divided into two genera. Coleoscirus intermedius Corpuz-Raros, 1996 is designated the type species for Pseudoscirus Wurlitzer and Rocha gen. nov. This new genus is peculiar in having characteristics of both Coleoscirus Berlese, 1916 and Pseudobonzia Smiley, 1975. The general characters of Pseudoscirus Wurlitzer and Rocha gen. nov. within the subfamily Coleoscirinae Den Heyer, 1978 include the presence of a small dorsal shield that covers only the propodosoma, and having swollen apices of solenidia on tarsus I. The new genus resembles Coleoscirus species due to coxal plates I and II fused medially, forming the sternal shield, and idiosomal plates poorly developed. A new species from the Amazonic biome in Brazil, Pseudoscirus amazonae Wurlitzer and Rocha sp. nov., is also described and illustrated. Abstract:The Peruvian specimens of the family Cerambycidae Latreille, 1802 (Coleoptera) housed in the Biological Museum at Lund University in Sweden are cataloged and illustrated. Photographs of dorsal habitus, labels, and complete label data of all the specimens are provided. There are 81 specimens belonging to 38 species, 29 genera, three subfamilies, and 19 tribes. Anisopodus ligneus Bates, 1863 is a new country record. The presence of Aegomorphus nigricans (Lameere, 1884) in Peru is confirmed. Additionally, 22 species represent new regional records. Colobothea Lepeletier & Audinet-Serville, 1825 and Taeniotes Audinet-Serville, 1835 are the genera with the greatest number of species, three species each. A note on the variation of elytral pubescence in Anisopodus prolixus (Erichson, 1847) is provided.

Abstract:The remarkable sharpshooter Prodigiella silvanoi gen. et sp. nov. is described and illustrated (including the external form, color, male and female terminalia) from the Atlantic Forest of southern and southeastern Brazil (states of Paraná and Rio de Janeiro). The new genus can be distinguished from other Neotropical genera of the Cicadellini by a combination of various morphological features, including an asymmetrical aedeagus with a bifid shaft and peculiar basal and apical processes and ovipositor valvula II distinctly expanded beyond basal curvature, its dorsal margin with 35–40 teeth, and ventral margin without preapical prominence. A discussion comparing Prodigiella with superficially similar taxa of the genera Macugonalia Young, 1977, Ruppeliana Young, 1977, and Versigonalia Young, 1977 is provided. The discovery of this peculiar new genus indicates that much collecting work in the remaining parts of the Atlantic Forest is clearly and urgently needed.

Abstract:Dicranocentrus Schött, 1893 is one of the largest genera of Orchesellidae, with a Pantropical distribution. Here we describe and illustrate the first species of the genus recorded from the Brazilian Pampa domain, in the Southern Region of the country. Dicranocentrus pampaensis sp. nov. is unique within the genus especially by the combination of: basal labium scaled, with M1 chaeta ciliated and others smooth, presence of 6–7 P macrochaetae on the dorsal head, thorax II to abdomen IV with 12, 9, 5, 2, 2, 5 central macrochaetae, respectively, tenent hairs capitate, ungues with the apical tooth, and dens with 45–64 spines. The dorsal head macrochaetotaxy puts the new species into the gracilis-group sensu Mari-Mutt, so we compared Dicranocentrus pampaensis sp. nov. with other taxa from this species group, providing a comparative table encompassing all its species and an identification key to them.

Abstract:Neocoelidiinae is a subfamily of Cicadellidae endemic to the American continent with 199 valid species allocated in 36 genera and two tribes. Coelidiana comprises 23 species distributed in Central and South America. Here we describe a new species for the genus: Coelidiana aroeira sp. nov. from Paraná state, collected on Schinus terebinthifolia trees. The female genitalia for the genus are described and illustrated for the first time, and an identification key for the species occurring in Brazil is proposed. The immature stages are described and parasitism by Dryinidae (Hymenoptera) and Pipunculidae (Diptera) is reported. The new species is diagnosed by: 1) crown with four orange stripes, 2) forewing with a brown stripe, 3) male pygofer with dorsal margin with an elongate process and a dentiform process on ventral margin, 4) subgenital plates surpassing pygofer apex and fused along their length, and 5) aedeagus shaft tubular, with a single ventral atrial process fused at shaft basally.

Abstract:A new genus and species of chernetid pseudoscorpion, Alinnaechernes itororoi n. sp ., is described from the Brazilian Cerrado domain, southeast region, found under the bark of Copaifera langsdorffii Des. (Fabaceae). Alinnaechernes n. gen . can be distinguished from other genera by: (1) the presence of a bilobed protuberance on the prolateral margin of the pedipalpal chela of males, with a small distal tooth on each lobe; (2) the spermathecae consist of two small, elongated bulbous sacs that are broadly connected at the base; (3) trichobothrium et situated subdistally, it distal of et , est at same level as ist , ib slightly distal to eb and at same level as esb , ist at same level as esb . The description of this new genus represents an important contribution to the knowledge of the pseudoscorpion fauna of the Brazilian savanna.

Abstract:A new species of cuterebrine rodent bot fly, Cuterebra yanayacui sp. nov., is described from the cloud forest of Ecuador, and it is argued that the species mimics a range of aculeate hymenopterans, including euglossine orchid bees of the genera Eufriesea Cockerell and Eulaema Lepeletier and bumble bees of the subgenus Cullumanobombus Vogt. Montemyia bureni Dalmat, 1942 is proposed as a junior synonym of Cuterebra ornata Bau, 1928, syn. nov., and an updated identification key to the species of the Metacuterebra species group within Cuterebra Clark is provided. The 5’-end of the Cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene is sequenced for the new species and compared with published Cuterebra sequences.

Abstract:Augochloropsis (Glyptobasia) Moure, a small Neotropical subgenus, is revised, with the description of a new species, Augochloropsis aenea sp. nov., from Puno, southern Peru. Augochloropsis (Glyptobasia) comprised the two nominal species, A. bertonii (Schrottky) with a bluish-violet body coloration and A. chloera (Moure) with a bright green body coloration, both species have coarse integumental punctures and an unusual propodeal structure. We interpret these striking color differences, as a case of color polymorphism within a single species. Therefore, Moure’s taxon is placed as a junior synonym of A. bertonii. An identification key for the species and a distribution map are also provided.

Abstract:Coronamyia gen. nov., a new Neotropical genus of Psychodidae with records restricted to northeastern and southeastern Brazil is described, as well as four new species: C. paschoali sp. nov., C. santosi sp. nov., C. triangularis sp. nov., and C. trilobata sp. nov. The new genus is morphologically similar to Alepia Enderlein, 1937, but can be differentiated by the presence of a lightly sclerotized plate with long thin setae around the aedeagus, which is absent in Alepia. Abstract:The life histories of four species of sympatric Brazilian Cerurinae (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae), belonging to the recently erected genus Americerura St Laurent and Goldstein, are fully documented from egg to adult. During fieldwork targeting Cerurinae in Rio Grande do Sul, we were able to obtain eggs of the four species known to occur in the state. No immature stages of any of the four species had previously been reared or illustrated in the literature. One of the species, Americerura brasiliensis St Laurent, Carvalho, and Orlandin sp. n. , is described as new and is a close relative of the North and Central American A. rarata (Walker). The other species reared herein are A. argynnis (Schaus), A. rivera (Schaus) and A. splendens (Jones), all endemics of South America. All four species feed on Salicaceae, as is typical of the subfamily. Abstract:Eucharitolus Bates, 1885 is divided into two informal groups of species, and its provisional features are reported. The females of Eucharitolus longus Botero & Monné, 2012, and Xenocona senticosa (Monné & Martins, 1976) are described for the first time and both species are newly recorded from Bolivia. New state records are provided for Eucharitolus lituratus (Melzer, 1934) and E. spilotus Botero & Monné, 2012. Eucharitolus geometricus (Tippmann, 1960) is transferred to a new genus, which is included in a previous key. A new species of Eucharitolus , E. thomazi , is described from Brazil (São Paulo) and an updated key to the genus is provided. Lepturdrys Gilmour, 1960 is reinstated and a new species, L. capixaba , is described from Brazil. Notes and new record for Lepturges ( Lepturges ) melzeri Gilmour, 1959 are provided. Urgleptes ovalis (Bates, 1866) is transferred to Lepturges ( Lepturges ) Bates, 1863. A new species of Lepturges ( Lepturges ), L. ( L. ) dubius , is described from Bolivia; Nealcidion zigzag sp. nov. is described from Bolivia. Lophopoeum paiolai Monné et al. , 2023 is synonymized with L. kawense Roguet, 2022, and a new country record is provided. Misidentifications of Lophopoeum meridianum Fisher, 1938, L. fuliginosum Bates, 1863, and L. bimaculatum (Gilmour, 1961) are reported. The presence of erect setae on elytra of the type species of Lophopoenopsis Melzer, 1931 is reported for the first time, and the genus is included in a previous key.

Abstract:This study focuses on the description of a new Parastenocaridinae species belonging to a new genus from Brazil's Jalapão microregion and the establishment of a new genus for two West African Fontinalicaridinae species. Afrocaris gen. nov. and Pectenocaris gen. nov. differ in the morphology of the furca, with a gap between the outer setae I–III and the dorsal seta VII in Afrocaris gen. nov., and no gap between these elements in Pectenocaris gen. nov. The female genital field of Pectenocaris gen. nov. is rectangular and much broader than high than in other Parastenocaridinae. In Afrocaris gen. nov. the female endopod of the third pereopod is short, ending in a small tip, without a distal fused spine as in Pectenocaris gen. nov. Pectenocaris evilsoni gen. et sp. nov. is the type species of a new Parastenocaridinae genus. The maxillula praecoxal arthrite of Pectenocaris evilsoni is armed with six elements, a unique character within the family. The fourth pereopod of the male is heavily ornamented along the inner margin of the first and second exopodite, and cylindrical spinules with rounded tip are present on the basis, near the insertion of the short filiform endopod. The main characters supporting the new genus Afrocaris gen. nov. are the highly ornate inner margin of the first and second exopodites of the male fourth pereopod and the short fourth pereopod of the male endopod. The phylogenetic positions of Pectenocaris evilsoni gen. et sp. nov. and Afrocaris gen. nov. within their own subfamilies are challenging to ascertain due to the highly transformed male fourth pereopod in Pectenocaris evilsoni gen. et sp. nov. and the two species of Afrocaris gen. nov. as well as the absence of an intermediate condition in species closely related to each of these genera or a clear synapomorphy for a more inclusive group within each subfamily, requiring further field and morpho/molecular systematic work.

Abstract:The new genus Polyodontotrochus is described and illustrated with four new species: P. auriculatus from French Guiana, P. elevatus (type species) from Ecuador, P. extentapalaestrus from French Guiana, and P. inpa from Brazil, the genus differs from all other membracids in having the inner sides of their metathoracic trochanters developed into apposed, sclerotized studlike, flattened plates distributed throughout. Their metathoracic tibiae have cucullate setal rows II and III incomplete, row I missing. A key to all species is provided.
