Abstract:Non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) is a burgeoning approach with the potential to significantly enhance cognition and functional abilities in individuals who have undergone a stroke. However, the current evidence lacks robust comparisons and rankings of various NIBS methods concerning the specific stimulation sites and parameters used. To address this knowledge gap, this systematic review and meta-analysis seek to offer conclusive evidence on the efficacy and safety of NIBS in treating post-stroke cognitive impairment.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of non - invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) in the treatment of post - stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI). Specifically, through network meta - analysis (NMA), the paper systematically compares the effects of different NIBS methods in improving cognitive function and activities of daily living (ADL) after stroke, and evaluates different stimulation sites and parameters. The study aims to fill the knowledge gap in the current evidence regarding the lack of robust comparison and ranking among various NIBS methods, and to provide more comprehensive and reliable evidence support for clinical practice.
