Abstract:With the remarkable strides in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, a range of sophisticated techniques and products have sprung forth, including speech recognition and semantic analysis. These advancements have propelled the application of AI to new heights, particularly in the realm of education. Notably, AI applications such as speech recognition, human-computer interaction, and automated evaluation have revolutionized traditional English speaking teaching, introducing unprecedented changes to the way students learn and interact. The paper aims to investigate how AI might enhance high school pupils' English-speaking proficiency, which employs a literature review methodology to examine and illustrate the smooth integration of AI technology with high school English speaking instruction. This approach enhances speaking learning materials and fosters creativity in teaching strategies and assessment techniques. In addition, it creates room for the evolution of the oral teaching style and broadens the learning environment. This intelligent transformation of the oral teaching mode is expected to effectively enhance the effectiveness of high school oral English teaching and ultimately improve students' language proficiency.

Abstract:The emergence of large-scale language models such as ChatGPT has presented unprecedented challenges and opportunities in foreign language education. On one hand, artificial intelligence poses a disruptive crisis; on the other hand, it offers new educational insights, methodologies, and resources. Faced with these challenges and opportunities, university foreign language teachers must seize the opportunity to integrate intelligent technology into their teaching practices to enhance their teaching abilities and the quality of talent development. This study aims to investigate approaches for integrating artificial intelligence into foreign language teaching at the university level to improve teaching effectiveness and talent development outcomes. Through literature analysis and related research, the study identifies best practices and strategies for utilizing artificial intelligence in university foreign language education. The findings suggest that integrating artificial intelligence into foreign language teaching at the university level can significantly enhance teaching effectiveness and talent development. Thus, it is recommended that university foreign language teachers actively explore and implement artificial intelligence technology to enhance the quality of foreign language education and student talent development

Abstract:Abstract In recent years, with the development of computer linguistics and artificial intelligence technology in the field of English education, the research methods and technical means of artificial intelligence big data analysis have been introduced into the research and practice of foreign language teaching. As a new element, artificial intelligence big data analysis provides a new approach and research perspective for foreign language teaching. In order to solve the problems of foreign language teaching resources sharing, optimizing teaching resources, improve the efficiency of foreign language topic teaching, and improving the interaction between teachers and students, based on the theoretical and practical research of foreign language teaching in colleges and universities, this paper uses artificial intelligence and big data technology, firstly classifies the artificial intelligence system of foreign language teaching in colleges and universities, secondly, it classifies the information technology of artificial intelligence in high school. The ability of information storage and information processing in college foreign language teaching is analyzed theoretically in computer language. The software and hardware design of the artificial intelligence information integrated system of college foreign language teaching is carried out. The results show that: relying on the design of the storage module and system server, the hardware design of the system is realized, and the software design of the system is realized based on the system running environment design and database design. Finally, the paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions for the development of AI in foreign language teaching.

Abstract:The widespread use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in language education contexts has motivated several scholars around the world to uncover the advantages and disadvantages of AI and AI-powered instruments in different language classrooms. Yet, as the review of earlier investigations revealed, few inquiries have been carried out to divulge the pros and cons of leveraging AI in EFL classes. To narrow this gap, using the phenomenological approach, this inquiry investigated the opportunities and challenges of implementing AI in EFL classes from the perspective of Chinese EFL students. To do so, through the criterion sampling technique, a total of 45 EFL students was recruited from different educational institutions in China. To collect the dataset, participants were asked to complete an open-ended questionnaire. For the sake of triangulation, among the 45 participants, 15 were randomly selected to engage in a follow-up interview session. With the aid of MAXQDA software (version 2023), participants' perceptions of AI opportunities and challenges were carefully analyzed. Overall, the analysis findings uncovered that leveraging AI in EFL classes can bring numerous opportunities for EFL students, including individualized learning, timely and immediate feedback, rich educational resources, and an interactive learning atmosphere. However, as demonstrated by the analysis outcomes, implementing AI in EFL courses may also face students with a range of challenges and problems. The research outcomes would be of great help to teachers and educational leaders in mitigating the challenges of leveraging AI in language classrooms.

Abstract:This article presents a research on innovative approaches in English language teaching through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The aim is to address the issues found in traditional English language teaching methods by utilizing AI technology. The article begins by identifying the problems in traditional English language teaching and exploring the current applications of AI in education. Then, it specifically discusses the application of AI technology in English language teaching, such as interactive listening training, intelligent error correction and personalized post-class guidance, and cloud-based intelligent English translation teaching. Subsequently, a proposal is put forward to construct a new English language teaching system based on AI technology, including modules for engaging explanations, interactive English assignments, and creating scenarios for cross-cultural communication oral training. Lastly, an evaluation method for assessing the innovation of English language teaching models based on AI is introduced, which includes feedback and perceptions from both teachers and students, as well as an assessment of teaching outcomes. The research findings of this article can provide a more intelligent, personalized, and effective English language teaching approach, thus positively impacting the quality of English language teaching and enhancing students’ interest in learning.

Abstract:Foreign language teaching, like almost all other aspects of human existence, has been substantially influenced by recent advances in modern information and communication technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality and AI (Artificial Intelligence). Although AI has been in use for almost 30 years, educators remain sceptical towards the use of AI-technology in the education field more broadly and how its use might meaningfully affect English language skills. Through a systematic review, this work seeks to provide a summary of the available literature with regards to the applications of AI in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) education. This review considers a wide range of AI technologies and methodologies, with a specific focus on the integration of AI into the realm of EFL education. The review then delineates the possible effects of AI in terms of developing students' language skills, students' and teachers' perceptions of using AI applications, and the difficulties and challenges inherent to implementing AI applications. The discussion culminates by identifying research gaps.

Abstract:This paper explores the practical prospects for using artificial intelligence technologies in professional English-speaking translator education. At the online conference 'Translation Skills in Times of Artificial Intelligence' (DingTalk platform, January 2022), the teachers of higher education institutions in China prioritized the translator's competencies necessary for successful professional activity during the digital transformation of social and economic business relations. The educators also evaluated the demand for online services used in the education of English–Chinese interpreters. The survey results showed that the use of artificial intelligence technologies in educational practices could have a significant impact on the development of key competencies of future translators. Using a competency-based approach to interpreter training and considering the need to develop abilities, knowledge, and skills required for successful professional translation activity, the author developed the pedagogical concept of the online educational course 'Simultaneous and asynchronous translation in a digital environment.'

Abstract:With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, its application in the field of education is more and more extensive. This paper aims to deeply explore the application of artificial intelligence in translation courses, analyze its advantages, application models, problems and solutions, and forecast the future research direction and development trend. First of all, this paper gives a comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence technology, and elaborates its definition, classification and development history in depth. Then, in light of the problems and challenges of traditional translation courses, this paper focuses on the advantages of AI application in translation courses, including improving the accuracy and efficiency of translation and providing personalized learning support. At the same time, this paper also introduces the application mode and practice of artificial intelligence in translation courses in detail, including the principle and function of intelligent translation tools, case analysis of translation course design based on artificial intelligence technology. When discussing the problems faced in the application and solving strategies, this paper deeply analyzes the technical limitations and defects, the change of teacher's role and students' learning mode, and puts forward a series of feasible solving strategies. Finally, the practical value of artificial intelligence in translation courses is summarized, and the future research direction and development trend are prospected.

Abstract:This research article examines the potential applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English Language Teaching (ELT) in South Asia. AI is a rapidly developing technology that offers innovative and effective solutions to various educational challenges. The article explores how AI can be used to improve the teaching and learning of English as a second language in South Asian countries, which face significant language barriers due to a lack of adequate resources and training. The study highlights the various AI technologies that are currently available for ELT, such as speech recognition, machine learning, and natural language processing. It also analyses the potential benefits and challenges associated with the use of AI in ELT, including increased efficiency, personalized learning, and reduced teacher workload. The study concludes that AI has the potential to significantly improve the quality and accessibility of ELT in South Asia, and recommends further research and experimentation to fully realize its potential.

Abstract:The majority of the universities and private institutions have initiated the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine translation (MT) in teaching translation. Translators have been trained by a systematic teaching method with newly designed curriculum with the addition of computer-assisted technology. However, the learner’s face-to-face experience is relating them to advance self-learning of languages through AI machine, which lack the motivational mechanism. This review paper presents the recent advancement in the use of AI and MT in the teaching translations to translators. The aim of the study is to investigate the pedagogical implications of AI for teaching translation studies. The study concludes that there is lack of critical reflection of challenges and jeopardies of AI in translation teaching, there is a weak connection to academic instructive perceptions, and that there is a need for further exploration of principled and enlightening approaches in the application of AI in translation teaching in higher education.

Abstract:This study investigates college English teachers’ attitudes and acceptance of AI-driven language learning applications. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines a quantitative survey with qualitative interviews to explore teachers’ perceptions and experiences. Findings indicate a predominantly positive attitude towards AI applications, driven by perceived ease of use and usefulness. However, challenges such as the digital divide and data privacy concerns are identified as barriers to adoption. Recommendations include enhancing professional development and ensuring equitable access to technology. This study contributes to understanding the integration of AI in education and suggests implications for practice and future research.

Abstract:Abstract As any other area of human lives, current state of foreign language education has been greatly influenced by the latest developments in the modern information communication technologies. The paper focuses specifically on the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI), which includes a wide range of technologies and methods, such as machine learning, adaptive learning, natural language processing, data mining, crowdsourcing, neural networks or an algorithm, into foreign language learning and teaching. First, the paper is concerned with changes brought to foreign language education specifically through the application of AI-powered tools and discusses ICALL (intelligent computer assisted language learning) as a subset of CALL. Second, it summarizes eight types of AI-powered tools for foreign language education and related results of the existing research, however scarce it is. Third, it discusses the frame for effective preparation of foreign language teachers in order to integrate AI-powered tools into their teaching to make it easier, less time-consuming and more effective. The author argues for reconsideration of the existing frames of requirements for CALL teachers.

Abstract:With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the field of English teaching has ushered in an opportunity for innovation. This study explores the application of AI in mobile Assisted Language learning (MALL) and its impact on English teaching. Through the analysis of relevant literature in the Web of Science database from 2014 to 2024, the study found that AI can personalize learning content, enhance learning engagement and language ability, and significantly improve English learning results. Despite some challenges, the application of AI in English teaching has broad potential to help improve the quality of teaching and meet the needs of diverse learners.
