Abstract:This paper investigates the potential of ChatGPT for helping humans tackle problems that require creativity. Across five experiments, we asked participants to use ChatGPT (GPT-3.5) to generate creative ideas for various everyday and innovation-related problems, including choosing a creative gift for a teenager, making a toy, repurposing unused items and designing an innovative dining table. We found that using ChatGPT increased the creativity of the generated ideas compared with not using any technology or using a conventional Web search (Google). This effect remained robust regardless of whether the problem required consideration of many (versus few) constraints and whether it was viewed as requiring empathetic concern. Furthermore, ChatGPT was most effective at generating incrementally (versus radically) new ideas. Process evidence suggests that the positive influence of ChatGPT can be attributed to its capability to combine remotely related concepts into a cohesive form, leading to a more articulate presentation of ideas.

Abstract:In less than 2 months, the artificial intelligence (AI) program ChatGPT has become a cultural sensation. It is freely accessible through a web portal created by the tool's developer, OpenAI. The program—which automatically creates text based on written prompts—is so popular that it's likely to be "at capacity right now" if you attempt to use it. When you do get through, ChatGPT provides endless entertainment. I asked it to rewrite the first scene of the classic American play Death of a Salesman , but to feature Princess Elsa from the animated movie Frozen as the main character instead of Willy Loman. The output was an amusing conversation in which Elsa—who has come home from a tough day of selling—is told by her son Happy, "Come on, Mom. You're Elsa from Frozen . You have ice powers and you're a queen. You're unstoppable." Mash-ups like this are certainly fun, but there are serious implications for generative AI programs like ChatGPT in science and academia.

Abstract:Generative AI has the potential to change the way we do things. The chatbot is one of the most popular implementation areas. Even though companies like Google and Meta had chatbots, ChatGPT became popular as it was made publicly available. Although ChatGPT is still in the early stages of its development, it attracted the attention of people and capital groups. It has taken the public interest; people from different fields, ages, and education levels started using ChatGPT. There have been many trials with ChatGPT. It is possible to see a lot of news and shares on the Internet. The study aims to shed light on what is happening in the literature and get an insight into the user expectations of ChatGPT and Generative AI. We also give information about the competitors of ChatGPT, such as Google’s Bard AI, Claude, Meta’s Wit.ai and Tencent’s HunyuanAide. We describe technical and structural fundamentals and try to shed light on who will win the race. We also shared information about the GPT4 version of OpenAI's ChatGPT. We share the early stage due diligence and current situation analysis for all these points. We examine preprint papers and published articles. We also included striking posts on the LinkedIn platform and a compilation of various blogs and news. We also made use of ChatGPT in editing the content of these resources of this study. We can get an insight into the people's interests through their questions submitted to ChatGPT. We can also understand the capabilities of GPT3, GPT4 and also predict further enhancements.

Abstract:ChatGPT, one of the leading Large Language Models (LLMs), has acquired linguistic capabilities such as text comprehension and logical reasoning, enabling it to engage in natural conversations with humans. As illustrated in "What Does ChatGPT Say: The DAO from Algorithmic Intelligence to Linguistic Intelligence" [1], there are three levels of intelligence: 1) Algorithmic Intelligence (AI), 2) Linguistic Intelligence (LI), 3) Imaginative Intelligence (II). ChatGPT is a powerful demonstration of Linguistic Intelligence, another milestone after AlphaGo for Algorithmic Intelligence [1]–[3]. We believe the next break-through in intelligence should be Imaginative Intelligence for artistic creation.

Abstract:We investigate whether large language models can perform the creative hypothesis generation that human researchers regularly do. While the error rate is high, generative AI seems to be able to effectively structure vast amounts of scientific knowledge and provide interesting and testable hypotheses. The future scientific enterprise may include synergistic efforts with a swarm of "hypothesis machines", challenged by automated experimentation and adversarial peer reviews.

Abstract:This paper presents a novel approach to scientific discovery using an artificial intelligence (AI) environment known as ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI. This is the first paper entirely generated with outputs from ChatGPT. We demonstrate how ChatGPT can be instructed through a gamification environment to define and benchmark hypothetical physical theories. Through this environment, ChatGPT successfully simulates the creation of a new improved model, called GPT4, which combines the concepts of GPT in AI (generative pretrained transformer) and GPT in physics (generalized probabilistic theory). We show that GPT4 can use its built‐in mathematical and statistical capabilities to simulate and analyze physical laws and phenomena. As a demonstration of its language capabilities, GPT4 also generates a limerick about itself. Overall, our results demonstrate the promising potential for human‐AI collaboration in scientific discovery, as well as the importance of designing systems that effectively integrate AI's capabilities with human intelligence.

Abstract:Artificial intelligence (AI) has elicited much attention across disciplines and industries (Hyder et al., Citation 2019 ). AI has been defined as "a system's ability to correctly interpret external data, to learn from such data, and to use those learnings to achieve specific goals and tasks through flexible adaptation" (Kaplan & Haenlein, Citation 2019 , p. 15). AI has gone through several development stages and AI winters. In the first two decades (i.e., 1950s and 1960s), AI demonstrated success which included programs such as General Problem Solver (Newell et al., Citation 1959 ) and ELIZA (Weizenbaum, Citation 1966 ). However, limitations in processing capacity and reduced spending on AI turned its development into stagnation.

Abstract:ChatGPT has been hailed as the latest and most powerful AI that appears in the second decade of 21st century. This paper argues that “the probability of information theory” and “the feedback of cybernetics” are the fundamental theoretical principles of ChatGPT’s intelligence, which have also pushed the development of communication studies; that ChatGPT’s probabilistic language practices and content-generation by“collaging” have always been approaches of human cultural production since the era of orality when Homer and Confucius lived; that ChatGPT will challenge the instituion of authorship that’s in place today, and will continue to learn from human being and become more creative, which in turn will stimulate humans to innovate; that in the future, we human beings will become more creative by using ChatGPT as training companion to set off new “romantic movements” that build on but prevail over AIGC.

Abstract:Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) has made significant advancements in natural language processing, leading to the development of AI language models such as ChatGPT. While it can generate text that appears to be human-like, it lacks the imagination and creativity that is essential to humans. This paper examines the potential threat of ChatGPT to human imagination and creativity, considering both the limitations of AI language models and the ethical concerns that arise from their development and use. This research paper explores the limitations of ChatGPT in the domains of creativity and imagination, as well as the ethical implications of its development and usage. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research approaches, the study delves into the experiences and perceptions of ChatGPT users, examining its impact on human creativity. It argues that while ChatGPT may not pose a direct threat to human creativity, it highlights important ethical considerations about the development and use of AI language models. Furthermore, ethical concerns related to the spread of disinformation and potential job displacement are discussed. Ultimately, the paper emphasizes the importance of responsible and transparent practices in the development and utilization of AI language models, guided by ethical frameworks that prioritize human values and respect for human rights.

Abstract:The emergence of an AI-powered chatbot that can generate human-like sentences and write coherent essays has caught the world's attention. This paper discusses the historical overview of chatbots and the technology behind Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, better known as ChatGPT. Moreover, potential applications of ChatGPT in various domains, including healthcare, education, and research, are highlighted. Despite promising results, there are several privacy and ethical concerns surrounding ChatGPT. In addition, we highlight some of the important limitations of the current version of ChatGPT. We also ask ChatGPT to provide its point of view and present its responses to several questions we attempt to answer.

Abstract:Generative AI (GenAI) technology is evoking both excitement and fear about its potential impact across a host of industries—including advertising, where it is expected to have a significant disruptive effect. This article utilizes the paradox lens to explore the implications of text-to-text GenAI in the form of ChatGPT for the advertising industry. Drawing on 48 interviews with advertising professionals, we identify three operational paradoxes that are associated with conducting research, creativity, efficiency, and one psychological paradox related to work identity. To gain a competitive advantage, we urge practitioners to adopt a confrontation-based coping strategy to navigate these paradoxes. This can be mobilized via an ambidexterity or contingency paradox management approach. We outline specific tactics in this article.

Abstract:Open Artificial Intelligence (AI) published an AI chatbot tool called ChatGPT at the end of November 2022. Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) architecture is the foundation of ChatGPT. On the internet, ChatGPT has been rapidly growing. This chatbot enables users to discuss with the AI by inputting prompts, and it is based on OpenAI’s language model. Although ChatGPT is fantastic and produces exciting results for writing tales, poetry, songs, essays, and other things, it has certain restrictions. Users may ask the bot questions, and it will reply with pertinent, convincing subjects and replies. ChatGPT has now risen to the top of several academic agendas. Administrators create task teams and hold institution-wide meetings to react to the tools, with most of the advice being to adopt this technology. This paper briefs about the ChatGPT and its need. Further, various Progressive Work Flow Processes of the ChatGPT Tool are stated diagrammatically. Specific features and capabilities of the ChatGPT Support System are studied in this paper. Finally, we identified and discussed the significant roles of ChatGPT in the current scenario. The neural language models that form the foundation of character AI have been developed from the bottom up with talks in mind. This technology implies that the programme uses deep learning methods to analyse and produce text. The model “understands” the subtleties of human-produced natural language using vast amounts of data from the internet.

Abstract:ChatGPT has garnered unprecedented popularity since its release in November 2022. This artificial intelligence (AI) large language model (LLM) is designed to generate human-like text based on patterns found in massive amounts of data scraped from the internet. ChatGPT is significantly different from previous versions of GPT by its quality of output, capability to interact and hold human-like conversations, enormous speed, and ability to have its output refined by users or experts. New iterations of ChatGPT as well as open source and alternative LLMs, and ChatGPT plugins extend the current capabilities of ChatGPT and offer unlimited opportunities to change how we do things. Despite its newfound popularity and capabilities, ChatGPT is fraught with concerns such as cheating, misinformation, bias, abuse and misuse, and privacy and safety. On the other hand, the integration of ChatGPT in the classroom prompts us to envision better ways of providing instruction and assessment of writing skills. ChatGPT also provides unparalleled approaches for personalized learning. As educators, we must consider and deal with the serious concerns of using ChatGPT but simultaneously explore how this AI technology can enhance and extend current methods of instruction. In this paper, authors explain what ChatGPT is and how it works, and future iterations of ChatGPT. They also present concerns and opportunities, and educational implications of using ChatGPT in the classroom.
ChatGPT and Its Educational Impact: Insights from a Software Development Competition

Abstract:This study explores the integration and impact of ChatGPT, a generative AI that utilizes natural language processing, in an educational environment. The main goal is to evaluate how ChatGPT affects project performance. To this end, we organize a software development competition utilizing ChatGPT, lasting for four weeks and involving 36 students. The competition is structured in two rounds: in the first round, all 36 students participate and are evaluated based on specific performance metrics such as code quality, innovation, and adherence to project requirements. The top 15 performers from the first round are then selected to advance to the second round, where they compete for the final rankings and the overall winner is determined. The competition shows that students who use ChatGPT extensively in various stages of development, including ideation, documentation, software development, and quality assurance, have higher project completion rates and better scores. A detailed comparative analysis between first-round and second-round winners reveals significant differences in their experience with generative AI for software development, experience learning large-scale language models, and interest in their respective fields of study. These findings suggest that ChatGPT enhances individual learning and project performance. A post-survey of participants also reveals high levels of satisfaction, further emphasizing the benefits of integrating generative AI like ChatGPT in academic settings. This study highlights the transformative potential of ChatGPT in project-based learning environments and supports further research into its long-term impact and broader application in a variety of educational contexts.

Abstract:European Journal of Cultural Studies, Ahead of Print. The emerging discourse catalyzed by the opening up of generative artificial intelligence (Gen-AI) applications for everyday usage often presents Gen-AI as radically and disruptively new. I revisit two moments in early conversations in computational history to offer a historicization of Chat GPT: the making of digital narratives through computational methods of storing, sorting and sequencing semantic units and the production of digital narratives through computational architecture of computability and stacks. I offer a framework of critical turns that unpack Gen-AI as a new form of digital narrative practice that challenges the future of meaning and function of narratives in everyday lives.
