A Study on the Plans of Dokdo Instructional Design in Teacher Training Education: Focusing on the Dokdo Lesson Plan

Abstract:Objectives The purpose of this study is to study the plans of Dokdo instructional design in teacher training education, focusing on the Dokdo lesson plan. In this study, the characteristics of the Dokdo lesson plan written by students in the pre-teacher course were analyzed, and based on this, the demand for Dokdo class of university students in teacher training education was presented.
Methods In this study, data were collected through the Dokdo lesson plan for 12 university students in the pre-teacher course. This study analyzed the contents of the Dokdo lesson plan collected by using elements of instructional design by Reiser and Dick(1996) as an analysis framework.
Results First, the characteristics of the Dokdo lesson plans were in terms of class goals, setting cognitive area-centered goal, setting specific goals, setting goals linked to majors, in terms of class contents, constructing contents centering on Dokdo history, constructing contents related to grounds for Dokdo controversy, constructing various contents related to Dokdo, in terms of class methods, using learner-centered methods, using methods of communication between instructor and learner, using methods of communication between learner and learner, in terms of class evaluation, using content comprehension and output focused evaluation, using learning outcome evaluation, using learning process evaluation with learning outcome evaluation, in terms of class media, using video media, using media for attentions, using media for delivery of contents. Second, the plans of Dokdo instructional design in teacher training education were in terms of class goals, the setting of specific goal based on cognitive domain, the setting of goals linked to major goals, in terms of class contents, constructing contents of Dokdo controversy based on historical content, constructing various contents related to Dokdo, in terms of class methods, using learner-centered methods for communication between instructor and learner, using learner-centered methods for communication between learner and learner, in terms of class evaluations, evaluating learning outcomes focused on content comprehension and output, evaluating learning process with learning outcomes, in terms of class media, using video media for inducing interest, and using video media for effective content delivery.
Conclusions This study suggested in the direction of Dokdo instructional design in teacher training education, strengthening history education in connection with elementary and middle school education, strengthening general education linked to majors educarion, development of instructional and assessment types suitable for history education and general education and enacting policies to promote Dokdo education in higher education institutions.
