Abstract:Throughout the oncologic treatment, ruptures are perceived, marked by changes in routines, as well as changes in roles and habits. This leads the subject to search for meaning and strategies for coping with the disease, which are often found in spirituality. In this sense, the present study aims at analyzing spirituality from the perspective of young people undergoing oncologic treatment - or after a year has passed since its completion - during the pandemic of COVID-19. Secondary data from a survey were analyzed, which used a biosociodemographic questionnaire and the Free Word Association Technique, through on-line forms, with the snowball sampling strategy. Bardin's Content Analysis technique was used to analyze the data. Three thematic categories were created: Expectation of healing; Spirituality as a foundation; and Illness as divine permission. The data referred to spirituality as a mechanism of support and coping with the disease by providing resources to deal with the difficulties that arise in daily life when facing oncologic treatment.
