Abstract:This study deals with one of the important axes of tourismdevelopment, which is "cultural heritage tourism" due to itsimportance in achieving the objectives of tourism developmentstrategies to create job opportunities and increase the state'sresources from foreign currency, since cultural heritage areas areconsidered one of the most important tributaries of tourismdevelopment, due to the importance of the relationship betweentourism and cultural heritage sites in showing the culture of localcommunities and eliciting information through tourists visitingthese areas. The tourism industry is directly linked to the historyand civilization of different societies, as it is concerned with thevalue of cultural heritage and works to highlight its features,preserve it and advance it through the search for diversity in thevalues that characterize local communities, and since Egypt isrich in huge potentials of tangible and intangible cultural heritageelements.Which expresses the history and civilization of this country andthe diversity of the culture of its people, whose roots go backthousands of years, so attention should be paid to culturalheritage tourism as one of the important tourism components thatbenefit the tourism sector and then the state. This study aims toshed light on the importance of cultural heritage tourism(economic, social, and environmental), supporting and preservingcultural heritage in heritage areas, and increasing the economic,social, and interpersonal return of cultural heritage tourism tolocal communities, preserving their heritage and preserving theirtraditions and beliefs.
