Abstract:T he year 1961 in the American Chemical Society has been one of exceptional effort devoted to the problem of carrying new scientific information more effectively to those who need and want it. Major results of that effort will begin to appear next month. As explained in more detail on pages 16—17, Industrial and Engineering Chemistry has been redesigned in the interest of more effective service in specialized areas, while at the same time giving attention to developments of broad interest in the field of industrial and engineering chemistry. CA—Biochemical Sections will present, as a separate biweekly unit, material from Chemical Abstracts relevant to biochemistry. The Journal of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry , a bimonthly prestige journal in its field, will appear for the first time under ACS auspices.
