Influence of steel exports to carbon emissions of Hebei Province and the countermeasures

Abstract:Steel exports has contributed a lot to the economy in Hebei Province,while iron and steel production pollution problem has been prominent.With steel exported to foreign countries,pollution becomes more and more serious in domestic.The contradiction between environmental protection and economic development is becoming more and more conspicuous.In recent years,Hebei has become the most serious area in haze.Controlling air pollution has become the urgent problem to Hebei Province.Therefore,researching on the influence of steel exports to carbon emission in Hebei Province and putting forward the countermeasures is the purpose of this research.Based on a large number of Hebei iron and steel exports and carbon emissions data,by using granger causality analysis and regression method,the steel exports and carbon emissions are analyzed,showing that there exists close causal relationship between them.The iron and steel exports are the granger cause of carbon emissions.Through the econometric methods,it is found that steel exports has an impact on carbon emissions.The result shows that when the steel exports increases by 1%,the carbon emissions will increase 1.396%.Based on the conclusion of this research,this article puts forward measures from the government and enterprise respect.
