Abstract:Rapid growth in rail transit in recent years has led to an increase in the number of underground and above-ground commercial spaces actively connecting with rail transit in the hopes of attracting passenger flow. Its morphological space combination is different from the creation of underground and above-ground space because of the complex environmental factors. Simultaneously, there is a lack of specialized research, which contributes to numerous issues, such as inefficient space utilization and a lack of commercial vitality. Using statistical correlation analysis, regression fitting, and questionnaires, this study investigates the impact of underground space connected to rail transit stations on the comfort of various behavioral groups. The transitivity of the underground space has a significant and negative relationship with the overall comfort of each user group. The proportion of block space and the layout of rest and sanitation facilities are directly proportional to the level of sojourners' comfort. It is discovered that significant relationships exist between the comfort of passers-by and the detour coefficient of underground space, the width of linear space, and the density of signs. In this light, the study offers a synergistic response strategy from the perspectives of development, design, and operation to offer a theoretical foundation for the comprehensive coordination and planning of underground commercial spaces.
