Abstract:Digitization technologies play more and more important role in relic protection now. This article summarizes the current status of digitization technology application in relic protection. Combined with work achieved in the digitization protection, restoration and development of Dunhuang Cave in recent years, the application of digitization technology in the relic protection fields such as information acquisition, display, mural copy and intelligent pattern creation of Dunhuang style is introduced. Artificial intelligence and multi-media technology was combined with arts; many techniques were developed to resolve the problems and achieved excellent results. At the end of the article, a conclusion about achievement and experience of digitization relic protection is drawn and some possible future directions are also suggested.

Abstract:Many rare culture relics and sites have been on the verge of great danger because of natural disaster, economic and tour development, etc. How to conserve, research and exploit the heritage resource is becoming more and more instant and important. In this paper, we discuss how to conserve, rebuild and restore culture relics and sites digitally, through the integration of computer science and conventional heritage-protection technology. Now, we have developed Dunhuang Cave Virtual Navigation System, Faded Mural Restoration and Evolvement Simulation System through taking advantage of the Virtual Reality, Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence technology. These works improve the efficiency of heritage conservation and research extremely.

Abstract:The Belt and Road Initiative, as an innovative continuation of the ancient Silk Road, provides a possibility for the exchange and docking of cultural values of countries around the world. As a cultural name card of China, Dunhuang culture is not only an important source of cultural consciousness and self-confidence, but also the best medium for cultural exchange and dialogue between the East and the West. Digital communication has the advantages of fast speed, wide audience and vivid information presentation, which opens up a new path for the inheritance and protection of Dunhuang culture. The use of digital technology to present Dunhuang culture to the public in a new way, so that the audience and Dunhuang culture have "close contact", to achieve an interactive experience. Artists provide artistic regeneration carriers for the digital communication of Dunhuang murals, audiences bring broader and more core inheritance forces for the digital communication of Dunhuang murals, and social context expands a multi-level and multi-dimensional strong communication platform for the digital communication of Dunhuang murals. Abstract:This paper delves into the utilization of NFT (Non-Fungible Token) technology for safeguarding and perpetuating Dunhuang culture, with a focus on media safety. It proposes a research methodology aimed at constructing a digital resource library and management platform utilizing this innovative technology. Addressing the imperative requirements of safeguarding work copyrights and establishing robust transaction mechanisms, it introduces the unique features of NFTs, such as non-fungibility and smart contract transactions, in a novel manner. By digitizing cultural artifacts, this approach establishes clear copyright and ownership attributes, facilitating transparent transactions and seamless transfers of ownership. Moreover, the paper explores the integration of NFT technology into the online dissemination and preservation of Dunhuang cultural works, which encompasses the creation of digital exhibitions and online museums. Through collaborative efforts both domestically and internationally, the digital works of Dunhuang culture are poised to garner global exposure, thereby enhancing its international significance. By delving into the future potential of NFT technology for safeguarding and perpetuating Dunhuang culture, this paper seeks to foster better cultural dissemination strategies, ultimately contributing to the enhanced protection, inheritance, and promotion of Dunhuang culture on a global scale.

Abstract:The understanding of Chinese culture and arts from the perspective of other cultures and countries has been the mainstream trend in the past. From ‗The Travels of Marco Polo' to the film ‗Red Lanterns', Chinese culture has mostly suffered a status of being depicted and interpreted but not examined as a vibrant civilization for real communication and interaction. Mostly, Chinese culture has been depicted as a culture of difference, misery, and agony. This approach has hampered communication between China and other nations in the past and even today. Chinese culture and arts have a long history of its own, it is extensive and profound, and needs more understanding, respect, logical evaluation and new approaches to communication. Authors argue that the rich cultural characters and charm need to be communicated across cultures via new media platforms. In this new world of digital media and information, especially, on the mobile terminal and the mode of UGC (User Generated Content), the traditional cultures and arts have new opportunities for their propagation, transportation, and demystification in real time circumstances. This essay assesses the communication of Chinese traditional culture and arts in the contemporary digital era and offers social-contextual analysis to reveal the internal tensions ambiguities, strategies, issues and prospects in its communication through digital platforms.

As a display platform for the export of Dunhuang culture, Dunhuang Art Academy has few scholars to study it. Therefore, based on the various opportunities and challenges posed by the works of Dunhuang Art Academy in the process of preservation, inheritance, and innovation, this paper takes the intangible cultural heritage of Dunhuang Art Academy as an example, focusing on the protection of inheritance, innovation realization in the digital society. The omni media development of Dunhuang Art Academy is discussed from four aspects: simulacra, education, media, and value realization, in order to obtain some new explorations and inspirations for expanding Dunhuang's intangible cultural heritage.

Abstract:Implementing computational methods for preservation,inheritance,and promotion of Cultural Her-itage(CH)has become a research trend across the world since the 1990s.In China,generations of scholars have dedicated themselves to studying the country's rich CH resources;there are great potential and opportunities in the field of computational research on specific cultural artefacts or artforms.Based on previous works,this paper proposes a systematic framework for Chinese Cultural Heritage Computing that consists of three conceptual levels which are Chinese CH protection and development strategy,computing process,and computable cultural ecosystem.The computing process includes three modules:(1)data acquisition and processing,(2)digital modeling and database con-struction,and(3)data application and promotion.The modules demonstrate the computing approaches corresponding to different phases of Chinese CH protection and development,from digital preservation and inheritance to presentation and promotion.The computing results can become the basis for the generation of cultural genes and eventually the formation of computable cultural ecosystem Case studies on the Mogao caves in Dunhuang and the art of Guqin,recognized as world's important tangible and intangible cultural heritage,are carried out to elaborate the computing process and methods within the framework.With continuous advances in data collection,processing,and display technologies,the framework can provide constructive reference for building up future research roadmaps in Chinese CH computing and related fields,for sustainable protection and development of Chinese CH in the digital age.

Abstract:This paper aims at responding to the questions in the traditional cultural heritage protection and exploring new visual representation forms and human-computer natural interaction design methods to carry forward the Digital Cultural Heritage(DCH) projects. This paper combined interaction design with Chinese traditional shadow puppet art to create a new media artwork based on computer image capturing technology, in order to actively reveal the relationship of the inner construction factors about culture context and outside restriction factors about Cultural Heritage Zeitgeist and achieve the culture systematic preservation, heritage sustainable development and civilization effective broadcasting. The paper provides interaction design principles and guidelines.

Abstract:With the continuous development of social civilization, people began to pay more attention to the needs of cultural and spiritual life. Cultural heritage is the spiritual product of which countries all over the world are proud. To evaluate whether a country's cultural heritage is deep enough is determined by the accumulation of traditional culture to a certain extent. Countries all over the world try their best to protect and carry forward their traditional culture, and apply for world cultural heritage through the Olympic Games and other ways to highlight their country's cultural heritage. This paper mainly studies the protection of intangible cultural heritage by using modern computer digital technology. In order to improve the shortcomings, low efficiency and high cost of these past protection methods, this paper decides to use computer digital technology for protection, and carefully introduces the methods of using computer data to protect intangible cultural heritage. The results show that the digital recording of intangible cultural heritage protection methods (text, image, audio, video, etc.), the reproduction of virtual cultural relics and the reconstruction of cultural activities are executable and available.

Abstract:Abstract With the globalization of global economy, the protection of intangible cultural heritage is facing a crisis of survival. Intangible cultural heritage is the crystallization of the wisdom of the working people of a country in past dynasties, with strong national characteristics. Applying digital technology to the protection of intangible cultural heritage can promote the inheritance, transformation and application of intangible cultural heritage. Since China put forward the information development strategy, it has become more practical to use digital technology to protect cultural heritage. Abstract:This paper discusses the profound impact of the digital age on the protection and dissemination of ethnic minority art. In the context of globalization and technological innovation, traditional art forms are in urgent need of digital transformation in terms of survival, innovation and sharing. This paper aims to develop effective conservation and communication strategies to explore how digital technologies are reshaping art creation, preservation and dissemination patterns, how to balance the original presentation of art with public acceptance, and how to stimulate young people’s interest in and responsibility for inheritance of minority art through digital means. This study not only helps to enrich the theoretical framework of cultural diversity and promote cross-cultural exchange and understanding, but also provides strategic direction for ethnic policymakers and cultural workers to ensure that ethnic minority arts are properly protected and widely disseminated in the digital process, thereby enhancing their global impact. Abstract:Traditional culture represents the spiritual essence and civilization symbols of a nation, facing numerous challenges in inheritance and development in the era of new media. Traditional cultural dissemination is hindered by outdated and monotonous forms, failing to engage modern audiences effectively. Public awareness and identification, especially among the younger generation, remain relatively low. Additionally, digital preservation efforts lag behind, exacerbating the shortage of skilled inheritors of traditional arts and crafts. These factors collectively constrain the dissemination and protection of traditional culture. Therefore, innovation in dissemination methods to enhance influence, intensified efforts in digital preservation to cultivate inheritors, and a focus on sustaining cultural vitality while avoiding excessive formalization are essential. Only through embracing the original, integrating external influences, and innovating continuously can traditional culture thrive and shine brightly in the new era. Maintaining its vitality in the current cultural landscape requires a balance of preservation and adaptation.

Abstract:Abstract As a new trend of cultural heritage protection, digital technology has brought opportunities and challenges to the detection, protection and development of traditional villages. First, this article introduces the specific application of digital technology in the three stages of data collection, information processing and display and dissemination, and constructs the corresponding integrated application diagram, then summarizes the implementation obstacles in the protection process. Finally, a prospect is made for the development of digital protection of traditional villages. The results show that digital technology can provide a strong data foundation and flexible processing methods for the storage, restoration, display and dissemination of traditional village protection, and promote the transformation of single technology to multiple integrated applications.
