Abstract:The dynamics of the total and dissolved iron concentrations was studied in 2012–2019 in the surface and bottom horizons of the Rybinsk Reservoir. The seasonal and year-to-year variations in iron concentrations in the water body were determined. Correlation analysis was used to show the existence of a reliable positive correlation between the concentrations of total and dissolved iron and the volume of water flow. Comparative analysis is given to the obtained and retrospective data. It is noted that no considerable changes have taken place in the recent years in the concentration of total iron in the reservoir, and the obtained iron concentrations are comparable with those obtained before.
