Abstract:With the vigorous development of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations, the concept of LEO-enhanced GNSS is proposed and quickly becomes the research hotspot, especially in precise positioning. Precise LEO clock corrections are the prerequisite for single receiver precise positioning applications. In order to bridge the gap between the calculation time of generating the products of clock corrections and the time of positioning, the precise LEO clock corrections need to be predicted over a certain period depending on the latency and the sampling interval of the clock products. In this article, the least-squares harmonic estimation is adopted to analyze the characteristics of LEO clock as well as its prediction performance with Ultra-Stable Oscillators on GRACE Follow-On mission. The results show that two periodic terms, e.g., 12-h and 6-h, account for the most dominant energy of the periodic clock corrections signals for GRACE-C, while three periodic terms (12-h, 6-h, and 4-h) for GRACE-D. Therefore, the quadratic polynomial with 2 and 3 periodic terms is adopted in clock corrections prediction for GRACE-C and GRACE-D, respectively. For LEO clock corrections prediction, two strategies of parameter estimation are assessed, i.e., estimating periodic and polynomial coefficients simultaneously or separately. The results show that the separate estimation outperforms the simultaneous estimation. For GRACE-C, the prediction accuracy of 0.1 ns is achieved for the prediction time of 8 min, while for GRACE-D is 6.5 min.
