Abstract:(ed from Am J Obstet Gynecol 2019;220(2):191.e1–191.e7) Cesarean delivery (CD) is associated with higher morbidity and mortality than vaginal birth. More than one-third of all indications for primary CD are due to labor dystocia (abnormal progression of labor defined as abnormal descent of the fetal head) in the second stage of labor.
