Abstract:This research was carried out with the aim of presenting an environmental management plan for steel production complex (SPC) in central Iran. Following precise identification of the plant activities as well as the study area, possible sources of environmental pollution and adverse impacts on the air quality, water, soil, biological environment, socioeconomic and cultural environment, and health and safety of the employees were determined considering the work processes of the steel complex. Afterwards, noise, wastewater, and air pollution sources were measured. Subsequently, factors polluting the steel complex were identified by TOPSIS and then prioritized using Excel Software. Based on the obtained results, the operation of the furnaces in hot rolling process with the score 1, effluent derived from hot rolling process with the score 0.565, nonprincipal disposal and dumping of waste at the plant enclosure with the score 0.335, walking beam process with the score 1.483 respectively allocated themselves the highest priority in terms of air, water, soil and noise pollution. In terms of habitats, land cover and socioeconomic and cultural environment, closeness to the forest area and the existence of four groups of wildlife with the score 1.106 and proximity of villages and residential areas to the plant with the score 3.771 respectively enjoyed the highest priorities while impressibility and occupational accidents with the score 2.725 and cutting and welding operations with score 2.134 had the highest priority among health and safety criteria. Finally, strategies for the control of pollution sources were identified and Training, Monitoring and environmental management plan of the SPC was prepared.

Abstract:Due to the scope and volume of activities, the petrochemical industry has a high potential for risk to humans and the environment. This study aimed to evaluate the environmental risks caused by the ammonia and urea production process. To screen the risks identified in the follow-up phase, the process hazard analysis (PHA) was used. The environmental aspects were also assessed using environmental failure mode and effects analysis (EFMEA). The most significant environmental aspect with a Risk Priority Number (RPN) of 100 was related to CO 2 emissions from the disposal tower. To rank the final aspects, the criteria "severity," "probability of occurrence," "probability of detection," and the "extent of contamination" were first weighed by the fuzzy Shannon entropy method. Then, each aspect was prioritized based on the mentioned criteria and using fuzzy Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS). According to this technique, among the 24 environmental aspects, the highest score (with a value of 0.702) was given to CO 2 emissions from the disposal tower. Finally, suggestions were made to mitigate the risks.

Abstract:Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present an integrated framework for performance evaluation and analysis of human resource (HR) with respect to the factors of health, safety, environment and ergonomics (HSEE) management system, and also the criteria of European federation for quality management (EFQM) as one of the well-known business excellence models. Design/methodology/approach In this study, an intelligent algorithm based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) along with fuzzy data envelopment analysis (FDEA) are developed and employed to assess the performance of the company. Furthermore, the impact of the factors on the company's performance as well as their strengths and weaknesses are identified by conducting a sensitivity analysis on the results. Similarly, a design of experiment is performed to prioritize the factors in the order of importance. Findings The results show that EFQM model has a far greater impact upon the company's performance than HSEE management system. According to the obtained results, it can be argued that integration of HSEE and EFQM leads to the performance improvement in the company. Practical implications In current study, the required data for executing the proposed framework are collected via valid questionnaires which are filled in by the staff of an aviation industry located in Tehran, Iran. Originality/value Managing HR performance results in improving usability, maintainability and reliability and finally in a significant reduction in the commercial aviation accident rate. Also, study of factors affecting HR performance authorities participate in developing systems in order to help operators better manage human error. This paper for the first time presents an intelligent framework based on ANFIS, FDEA and statistical tests for HR performance assessment and analysis with the ability of handling uncertainty and vagueness existing in real world environment.

Abstract:Background: Resilience engineering (RE) can be an alternative technique to the traditional risk assessment and management techniques, to predict and manage safety conditions of modern socio-technical organizations. While traditional risk management approaches are retrospective and highlight error calculation and computation of malfunction possibilities, resilience engineering seeks ways to improve capacity at all levels of organizations in order to build strong yet flexible processes. Objectives: Considering the resilience potential measurement as a concern in complex working systems, the aim of this study was to quantify the resilience by the help of fuzzy sets and Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) techniques. In this paper, we adopted the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) method to measure resilience in a gas refinery plant. Methods: A resilience assessment framework containing six indicators, each with its own sub-indicators, was constructed. Then, the fuzzy weights of the indicators and the sub-indicators were derived from pair-wise comparisons conducted by experts. The fuzzy evaluating vectors of the indicators and the sub-indicators computed according to the initial assessment data. Finally, the Comprehensive Resilience Index (CoRI), Resilience Grade (RG), and Resilience Early Warning Grade (REWG) were established. Results: To demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method, an illustrative example in a gas refinery complex (an instance of socio-technical systems) was provided. CoRI of the refinery ranked as "III". In addition, for the six main indicators, RG and REWG ranked as "III" and "NEWZ", respectively, except for C3, in which RG ranked as "II", and REWG ranked as "OEWZ". Conclusions: The results revealed the engineering practicability and usefulness of the proposed method in resilience evaluation of socio-technical systems.

Abstract:Working in hot and humid environments can jeopardize the health and safety of the workers and reduce their efficiency. Different physical, environmental, and human factors can influence the risk level of working in these atmospheres. Therefore, the risk assessment of such atmospheres must be carried out from a holistic point of view. This paper aims to introduce a novel risk assessment and prioritization model, using hybrid AHP and VIKOR methods in a fuzzy environment. The AHP method was adopted to determine the importance (weight) of the risk influencing parameters. Also, the VIKOR as a compromise solution method was applied to rank the different working stations against the risk criteria. Fuzzy set theory was used to handle the inherent ambiguity and vagueness of the data encountered in the evaluation process. Furthermore, the fuzzy TOPSIS was adopted to further represent the efficacy of the proposed model. To demonstrate the applicability of the model, a small size foundry shop was selected as the real case and a sensitivity analysis was performed to confirm the validity of the model. The results revealed that the "Environment" has the most contribution to the risk level of hot environments (WE = 0.615). That is followed by "Temperature" (WDBT = 0.268), "Air velocity" (WAV = 0.170), "Safety training" (WST = 0.161), "Mean radiant intensity" (WMRT = 0.110), "Humidity" (WH = 0.066), "Seniority structure" (WSS = 0.063), "Work intensity" (WWI = 0.058), "PPE" (WPPE = 0.047), "Work nature" (WPPE = 0.034), and " Work duration" (WT = 0.022), in sub-factors. Using the F-VIKOR method, the "melting furnace" workstation was determined as the compromise solution with the index value of Q = 1.

Abstract:Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a popular technique in reliability analyses. In a typical FMEA, there are three risk factors for each failure modes: Severity (S), occurrence (O), and detectability (D). These will be included in calculating a risk priority number (RPN) multiplying the three aforementioned factors. The literature review reveals some noticeable efforts to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional FMEA. The objective of this paper is to extend the application of FMEA to risk management for agricultural projects. For this aim, the factor of severity in traditional FMEA is broken down into three sub-factors that include severity on cost, the severity on time, and severity on the quality of the project. Moreover, in this study, a fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) integrated with a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was used to address the limitations of the traditional FMEA. A sensitivity analysis was done by weighing the risk assessment factors. The results confirm the capability of this Hybrid-FMEA in addressing several drawbacks of the traditional FMEA application. The risk assessment factors changed the risk priority between the different projects by affecting the weights. The risk of water and energy supplies and climate fluctuations and pests were the most critical risk in agricultural projects. Risk control measures should be applied according to the severity of each risk. Some of this research’s contributions can be abstracted as identifying and classifying the risks of investment in agricultural projects and implementing the extended FMEA and multicriteria decision-making methods for analyzing the risks in the agriculture domain for the first time. As a management tool, the proposed model can be used in similar fields for risk management of various investment projects.

Abstract:Many occupational environments require labor intensive activities, which could result in fatigue and injuries and cause decreased work performance. Recently, the breakthroughs of Industry 4.0 have allowed for tracking worker conditions. Based on these, various analytical models have been performed with the aim of guiding work design in occupational environments, which contributes to ultimately achieving a safe and productive Operator 4.0. However, there is a lack of systematic analysis and implementation guidelines. In this paper, we review the literature on upper-limb fatigue modeling in occupational settings, since it is reported shoulder injuries are a pressing issue. From the reviewed papers, our main observations are that the majority of studies focus on identifying human fatigue/reliability indices, and the corresponding factors contributing to these indices, through statistical and biomechanical models. However, existing models lack the consideration of several important aspects of upper-limb fatigue analysis, such as the full use of wearable sensor data in a real-time manner, consideration of the heterogeneity of workers and measurement devices, and the difference between simulated and actual work environment. Moreover, the issue of fatigue development for the workers' upper extremities, which could significantly have an impact on workers' performance, has not yet been studied from a system reliability point of view to the best of the authors’ knowledge. Reliability engineering models that are widely used to model machines can play an important role in modeling humans in occupational settings. We discuss the limitations of the reviewed articles and provide insights for future research.

Abstract:AbstractThe topic of green human resource management has attracted considerable attention during this last decade. Despite this interest, little research has been conducted to explore the successful implementation of green human resource management to achieve environmental sustainability goals. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors affecting the effective implementation of green human resource management in petrochemical companies in Bushehr City. This research is the first article that has evaluated green human resource management measures in petrochemical industries, and on the other hand, it can be stated that it is the first paper to perform green measures of human resource management using the combined method of fuzzy hierarchical analysis and type-2 fuzzy DEMATEL. The present study seeks to identify these factors and examine their relationships based on existing theoretical foundations and expert opinions. Based on results, factors affecting green human resource management implementation were divided into five categories: recruitment and employment, training and development, performance appraisal, service compensation and reward, and green organizational culture management. In other words, a total of five criteria and twenty green sub-criteria were identified for the implementation of green human resource management. Fuzzy AHP and type-2 fuzzy DEMATEL were applied to determine the weights of the criteria. The results showed that the process of green training and development is the most critical factor in the effective implementation of green human resource management. Also, training and development processes, service compensation, and green organizational culture management are affecting factors to achieve this critical issue. In order to implement green human resource management, this study has proposed the priority of green measures for petrochemical industry managers.

Abstract:Single-minute exchange of dies (SMED) is one of the most significant lean tools which reduces the required time for setup operations. The consideration of appropriate ergonomic interferences during the SMED implementation improves working conditions, productivity, and flexibility. The SMED literature has an opportunity for expansion with ergonomic assessment. Moreover, ergonomic assessment studies have various limitations in terms of a broad hierarchy of ergonomic factors and their weighting. Therefore, this study enriches the literature by providing the ergonomic assessment of the setup process through integrating multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) into SMED. In this context, a wide hierarchy of ergonomic risk factors is compiled for ergonomic assessment. The Interval Valued Pythagorean Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (IVPF-AHP) method is used to determine the weights of factors. Then, Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is used to prioritize setup tasks in terms of ergonomic factors by using the Interval Valued Pythagorean Fuzzy Sets (IVPFSs). The proposed model was validated by applying it to a real-life manufacturing system in the white goods supplier industry. The application results justify the proposed model with a setup time reduction of 58% and an ergonomic improvement of 19%.

Application of Meta-Synthesis Technique for Identifying Safety, Health, and Environmental Indicators in the Value-Added Model of the Petrochemical Industry Supply Chain

Abstract:The aim of this research is to apply the meta-synthesis technique to identify safety, health, and environmental indicators in the value-added model of the petrochemical industry supply chain. In the petrochemical industry, safety, health, and the environment hold significant importance. Safety indicators such as work accident rates, safety training, and the use of protective equipment can indicate operational sustainability in the petrochemical industry. The researcher employed a systematic review and meta-synthesis approach to analyze the results and findings of previous researchers. By following the seven-step method of Sandelowski and Barroso, influential factors were identified. Out of 556 articles, 55 were selected based on the CASP method, and the validity of the analysis was confirmed with a Kappa coefficient of 0.711. To assess reliability and quality control, the transcription method was used, which revealed an excellent agreement level for the identified indicators. The results of the collected data analysis using MAXQDA software led to the identification of 84 initial codes in 16 categories. The 16 criteria are: political factors, cultural factors, legal factors, financial factors, individual factors, managerial factors, information resources, implementation, review, feedback analysis, performance evaluation factors, risk concepts, identification of environmental issues, identification of health issues, learning about safety topics, and the value-added supply chain of the petrochemical industry with a sustainable development approach. In the value-added model of the petrochemical industry supply chain, safety, health, and environmental indicators are of great importance. Safety in these industries is essential, as non-compliance with safety standards can lead to serious incidents, including personal and environmental damage. Therefore, adherence to safety standards and training, along with the development of safety technologies, can lead to significant improvements in this industry. Additionally, the health of employees and maintaining their well-being is another priority of this supply chain. Creating a healthy work environment and providing appropriate health services to workers can play a crucial role in increasing productivity and reducing injury rates caused by working conditions.

Abstract:Fugitive emissions from petrochemical facilities have become a major concern due to their impact on plant productivity, the environment, and health. In regard to health, petrochemical workers are at higher occupational health (OH) risk due to their continuous exposure to these harmful emissions. Inherent OH and safety indexes are the most common methods used for assessing OH risk due to fugitive emissions. These methods usually focus on the sources of health hazards, such as chemical substances, process conditions, and process equipment. Therefore, these methods are considered good for measuring the severity of the OH risk. However, based on the source, pathway, receptor (SPR) model, the OH risk due to fugitive emissions is also dependent on the pathway and receptor, where leak and exposure hazards may take place, respectively. For a holistic OH risk assessment, these hazards need to be considered. This was achieved by developing an OH risk assessment methodology that provides an effective assessment that takes into consideration hazards at the source, pathway, and receptor. This paper focuses on the source part of the SPR model, while the pathway and receptor parts will be covered in future publications. This paper presents an index‐based method named the inherent health hazard level index (IHHLI) developed for evaluating the severity of the fugitive emission‐induced OH risk. The IHHLI is developed by an expert‐based selection of the most common and relevant health hazard indicators published in the literature. Based on industry testing, the IHHLI can provide a reliable OH hazard evaluation.

Abstract:Background: The petrochemical industry is hazardous, in part because of the inherently dangerous nature of the work conducted, and incidents frequently result in significant financial and social losses. The most common immediate cause of incidents and injuries in this industry is unsafe worker behaviour. Identifying the factors encouraging unsafe work behaviours is the first step in taking action to discourage them. The aim of this study was to (a) explore workers', supervisors' and safety managers' attitudes and perceptions of safety in a petrochemical company in Iran, and (b) identify the factors that discourage safe work behaviours. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted by applying the steps described by Graneheim and Lundman (2004). Twenty participants were recruited from an Iranian petrochemical company using a multi-stage approach, with initial purposive sampling followed by snowball sampling to enhance recruitment. Individual face-to-face and semi-structured interviews were conducted to gain an in-depth understanding of factors acting as barriers to safe behaviour. The interviews were recorded and transcribed in Persian and then translated into English. Conventional content analysis was performed. Results: The main themes emerging from the interviews were: (i) poor direct safety management and supervision; (ii) unsafe workplace conditions; (iii) workers' perceptions, skills and training; and (iv) broader organisational factors. Conclusions: The findings give insights into practical organisational measures that can be implemented by management to promote workers' commitment to safety and engage in safe behaviours in their workplace. Abstract:Organizational performance evaluation is a very vital and sensitive process in any industry. One of the most crucial aspects of performance assessment is consideration of financial performance evaluation. In this kind of evaluation, we face many criteria and index to performing and also designing a comprehensive and effective model. Thus, this situation can be regarded as a fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem, so the fuzziness and uncertainty of subjective perception should be considered. In this paper performance evaluation of seven active companies in the petrochemical industries was evaluated using combined method of fuzzy and analytic hierarchy process. In this paper at the first, Iranian petrochemical industry was studied and then the required framework for a good decision making model was introduced after that financial evaluation criteria and the main financial ratios used in this article was defined the criteria are as follows: current ratio, quick ratio, debt ratio, long term debt, EBIT, total asset, inventory turnover ratio, total asset turnover ratio, fixed asset turnover ratio, receivable accounting turnover ratio, net profit margin, ROI, ROE, asset growth, shareholder's equity growth are among the financial criteria that were used, in the nest stage fuzzy set and fuzzy AHP is described and results of analysis have been presented.

Abstract:PurposeWork-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are common occupational problems affecting the health and productivity of workers worldwide. Ergonomic intervention programs (EIPs) can play an effective role in preventing these disorders in the workplace. Assessing the effectiveness of an EIP is a challenge faced by both industries and researchers. This study was aimed at assessing the effectiveness of an EIP on human resources productivity (HRP), musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), general health and occupational fatigue in a steel industry.MethodsThis study was conducted in a steel industry in Isfahan, Iran, between 2018 and 2021. To assess the effectiveness of the EIP with a participatory approach, training and redesign of workstations, the criteria of HRP, MSDs, general health and occupational fatigue were investigated before and after the intervention, using HRP Questionnaire, Nordic musculoskeletal questionnaire (NMQ), 28-item General Health Questionnaire (28-GHQ), Swedish Occupational Fatigue Inventory (SOFI-20) and Occupational Fatigue/Exhaustion Recovery (OFER-15) Questionnaire, as data collection tools, respectively.ResultsThe implementation of EIP in the studied industry significantly led to an increase in HRP (p < 0.05). The prevalence of MSDs decreased significantly in most regions of the body after the interventions (p < 0.001). In addition, the program significantly improved general health (p < 0.001) and reduced occupational fatigue among employees (p < 0.001).ConclusionsThe implementation of EIP was significantly effective in working conditions improvement. Therefore, implementing EIP with participatory approach, workforce training, as well as redesigning of workstations are recommended in industries.

Abstract:Employee satisfaction is one of the main indicators of attitudes assessment in organizations and is one of the factors which can be used to assess the status of an organization. This is important because of the role that this construct plays in improvement of the organization and the workforce. Organizationally, a high level of job satisfaction reflects a highly desirable organizational climate which leads to recruitment and retention of employees and increases efficiency and effectiveness. Accordingly, this study tended to identify and prioritize employee satisfaction strategies in Tehran's Regional Water Company using analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The data was analyzed using AHP method by Expert Choice software. The statistical population included 16 experts in human sciences and in management science working in the Tehran Regional Water Company. Due to the limited number of statistical population, sampling was not used and census method was used; that is, all people in the statistical population participated in the study. Prioritization of the criteria showed that organizational strategies are the most important, followed by organizational policies and organizational achievements. Sub-criteria of these criteria were also prioritized.

Abstract:A dam construction project is exposed to various risks due to the amount of investment, duration of implementation, the complexity of design and implementation, etc., and these risks will lead to human and financial losses. Thus, based on three principles, including (i) time, (ii) quality, and (iii) cost, identifying, assessing, ranking risks, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) can have a significant impact on project objectives. The machinery maintenance unit has the largest share of the organization's cost model. Manpower, tools, spare parts, and working standards of planning and scheduling are the most important elements of the implementation of the maintenance process in these organizations. Methodology In the present research, first, all the failure modes of the machinery maintenance unit were identified. Then, to assess and rank them, in addition to the three traditional attributes in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) (severity-S, occurrence-O, and detection-D) and calculate the Risk Priority Number (RPN), we used fuzzy numbers corresponding to real-world problems instead of crisp numbers for risk ranking.

Abstract:The surge of socio-economic and environmental problems in the recent decades have exacted a clarion call for transitioning to more sustainable and responsible business practices. Developing multiple bottom line performance evaluation systems, in order to track the progress made, is at the fulcrum of such a transition. The purpose of this study is to design a triangular rating system for multiple bottom line performance evaluation using corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and corporate financial performance ratings. Furthermore, using a case study approach, the framework is tested in a high impact industry i.e. Iranian petrochemical industry. The result of the analyses showed no significant relationship among the three dimensions of the rating system which mainly stemmed from the failure of the examined market in adopting responsible business practices. Moreover, sensitivity analyses were conducted to account for any discrepancies in the outcomes as a result of using fuzzy numbers and weighting vectors. The study makes two major contributions. Theoretically, it proposes a triangular framework for performance evaluation using key performance indicators. Empirically, it applies the framework to a set of cases from the petrochemical industry by employing two prominent multi-attribute decision making models using fuzzy sets. Finally, the study concludes that failing to integrate environmental, social, and governance measures into decision making processes, in brazen defiance of stakeholders' needs, is the main culprit of an unsustainable and irresponsible corporate environment.

Abstract:Background: In the petrochemical industries, accidents are generally catastrophic which endanger human, environment and economic. In the industries, there is a wide range of flammable and toxic substances that affect health and safety of workers. They have also adverse effects on society. Numerical risk and impact assessment as well as design for protective layers against catastrophic events are necessary for designing process units. Methods: First, the occupational-process and environmental safety hazards were measured by hazard and operability (HAZOP) and environmental failure mode and effects analysis (EFMEA) techniques. Then, the risk was assessed using the layer and operability analysis (LOPA) method. Results: The results showed that a total of 50 safe and health items and 37 environmental risks were identified by HAZOP and EFMEA methods in Imam Khomeini Petrochemical Aromatic Unit. There were 17, 19 and 14 items with low, medium and high level risk, respectively. Conclusion: This study showed that the LOPA method is more comprehensive than hazard identification methods for the analysis of protective layers. The important actions were blockage of the excess gas to the flare and release the H2S gas. Also, evaluation of the environmental aspects of aromatic unit activities showed that air pollutant production in the power supply unit, waste disposal of reactor tank, waste disposal of condensate tank and reactor fire and explosion were at a high level risk.
Development and psychometric evaluation of an occupational health and safety performance tool for manufacturing companies

Abstract:Background: The occupational health and safety (OHS) performance of organizations maybe affected by internal and external factors. According to a literature review, standardized tools for studying these factors are limited. Therefore, the main aim of this study was to examine psychometric properties of a tool for evaluating OHS performance. The tool was used to investigate the relationship between the identified OHS performance influencing factors and occupational injury. Methods: The questionnaire developed through conducting a literature review about the OHS performance and constructing a question pool. The number of items was reduced to 93 after performing a screening process. Sixteen OHS scholars offered feedback on the tool's phrasing and applicability to check face and content validity. Test-retest reliability was examined through intraclass correlation coefficients. 850 questionnaires were distributed at 12 manufacturing companies in the West Azerbaijan province in Iran, 600 valid questionnaires were returned. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to assess construct validity. Criterion validity was investigated by measuring agreement between its OHS performance scores and occupational injury. A set of regression analyses examined the variables associated with OHS influencing factors. Results: Validity analysis revealed that 93 items had an excellent content validity ratio (>0.79) and content validity index (>0.47). The exploratory factor analysis resulted in eleven OHS performance factors. Thirty-three items were removed because of inadequate reliability. The result of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the OHS performance model is satisfactory. The final 60-item scale's reliability score was 0.96. The safety system was identified as the main influencing factor (3.54 ± 0.65). Participants with more safety training reported more injuries. Safety training and injury experiences, company size, and occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) adoption affected OHS performance influencing factors. Occupational injuries were linked to company size (OR = 1.39, CI = 1.06-1.82), whereas the absence of OHSMS was connected with an increased risk of occupational injury (OR = 0.09, CI = 0.02-0.55). Conclusions: The developed tool had satisfactory psychometric properties for assessing OHS performance in manufacturing companies. OHS performance could be improved by implementing safety systems and focusing more on incentive programs. Implementing the requirements of an OHSMS may improve the OHS performance and decrease occupational injuries.

Abstract:Many workers are exposed to electrical energy during the fulfillment of their tasks. It is necessary to identify the potential risk factors for electrical damages. The present study aimed to develop a novel Electrical Industry Safety Risk Index (EISRI) in the electricity power distribution industry based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP). In this study several different safety risk assessment methods were analyzed. Then, common activities in the electricity distribution industry were classified into ten occupational groups. To identify the general structure of risk assessment and determine three main components, including personal, environmental, and organizational a three-stage Delphi study was conducted with the participation of 30 experts. The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process approach was used to weight the components and parameters in each job group. Finally, the results of the EISRI were compared with the failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) method. The most effective component in determining the risk level was the personal component (PC), with a 0.537 weighted average. Cronbach's alpha values for each of the personal, environmental, and organizational components and the entire model were 0.90, 0.85, 0.82, and 0.86, respectively, and model reliability was confirmed. The results obtained from the EISRI method were compared with the FMEA method, the results of both methods were very close to each other (p < 0.05). The results of this study revealed that the highest weighted average was related to the personal component due to the high impact of the human factors in carrying out activities in various occupations. The EISRI can be applied as a substitute for general risk assessment methods due to the suitability of this method with the nature of activities in this industry. The present technique can be a practical step toward developing suitable risk management algorithm.
