Abstract:Narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-IoT), one of the emerging paradigms of low power wide area networks (LPWAN) for Internet of Things (IoT), has been envisioned as a promising solution to enable massive connectivity, cost-efficient, and highly reliable Internet of Thing (IoT) systems in future smart cities. In this work, we build up an indoor environment-temperature monitoring system based on NB-IoT. We present a detailed design of our system and illustrate the key technologies. Based on our system and the collected data (i.e., the temperature data), we further design an abnormality-detection mechanism based on the support vector machine (SVM). We provide experimental results to show the performance of our designed system and the proposed abnormality-detection mechanism.

Abstract:Abstract This paper introduces a moisture monitor based on NB-IoT which can be used to remotely measure the moisture of tobacco packet that will be stored for a long time. The sensor section of the device uses a capacitive method to complete capacitance to voltage conversion and the monitor uses STM32 to control the sensor work. The measured data is transmitted to the web server through NB-IoT, and further data analysis and processing can be performed on the server side. The moisture monitor designed by us in this paper has achieved high precision, low power consumption and low packet loss rate after being used in the tobacco warehouse. The device can work for two years and the status of tobacco moisture was monitored steadily.

Abstract:Aiming at the problem of on-line measurement of the flow of oil, gas and water multiphase flow in the production process of oil and gas wells, a set of real-time flow monitoring system based on STM32 and Lora was designed. It realizes realtime monitoring and remote control of flow, temperature and pressure in the production process of oil and gas wells. This system selects STM32F103ZET6 as the main control chip, and uses serial communication to form a data acquisition platform by connecting with sensor acquisition modules such as flow, temperature, and pressure. By using Lora wireless communication technology, real-time measurement data is transmitted to the upper computer and transmitted to Cloud Server. It is verified through the built system experiment platform that the system has the advantages of low power consumption, strong real-time performance, low cost and strong reliability. It has great production guiding significance and value for the optimization of oilfield production and the realization of intelligent well completion.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of traditional smoke detectors such as wiring difficulties, high line construction cost, weak anti-interference ability, and short transmission distance, this paper presents a design scheme of smoke detection and alarm system based on LoRa. The terminal is designed with the main control chip and LoRa module as the core, and the MCU is the control core to design the gateway, combined with the design of the communication protocol, to realize the functions of periodic data reporting, data abnormal alarm, abnormal state alarm and so on. Based on the LoRa network, this paper designs the overall architecture of the system. In addition, the article designs the system software, elaborates the system workflow, and proposes a low power consumption strategy for the terminal, which effectively reduces the system power consumption.

Abstract:There are some problems in the traditional warehousing monitoring systems, such as complex wiring and high power consumption. Sometimes the warehousing is so remote that it is not quite convenient to supply the alternating current with cable. This paper introduces a new warehousing environment monitor system based on wireless sensor network (WSN), which can acquire real-time warehousing environment parameters and reduce the unnecessary loss caused by emergency such as fire. We adopt the CC2530 as a wireless data transceiver, SHT11 temperature and humidity sensors to realize the gathering of warehousing environment parameter, and voice module to realize audio acquisition. The communication system run the corresponding program for the coordinator nodes and terminal nodes under the IAR system, and realize data transmission between the nodes in a star network. The experimental results show that the system can realize the acquisition and processing of environmental temperature and humidity in a wide area.

Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience

Abstract:With the rapid development of China's social economy, the transportation needs of its residents continue to increase and encourage rapid and continual development of the Chinese high‐speed railway system. The design of China's high‐speed railway station is the integration of a new model that includes the layout of upcoming booking, traffic, waiting, tickets, and other functions to be set in the area known as the waiting hall. As such, the waiting hall has become an extremely important element of the environmental monitoring system. This paper proposes the design of a high‐speed rail station environmental monitoring system based on the LoRa communication technology. This system aims to enable the real‐time monitoring of temperature, humidity, illuminance, and noise decibels in high‐speed railway stations. The wireless communication present in the proposed system adopts the LoRa technology features of low power consumption, low cost, and long‐range communication. In this study, we set up a prototype of a LoRa enabled network in the lab building of Hohai University to transmit the environmental data. Moreover, we analyzed the signal propagation of LoRa in an indoor environment.

Abstract:In order to solve the problems of high labor cost, long detection period, and low degree of information in current water environment monitoring, this paper proposes a lake water environment monitoring system based on LoRa and Internet of Things technology. The system realizes remote collection, data storage, dynamic monitoring, and pollution alarm for the distributed deployment of multisensor node information (water temperature, pH, turbidity, conductivity, and other water quality parameters). Moreover, the system uses STM32L151C8T6 microprocessor and multiple types of water quality sensors to collect water quality parameters in real time, and the data is packaged and sent to the LoRa gateway remotely by LoRa technology. Then, the gateway completes the bridging of LoRa link to IP link and forwards the water quality information to the Alibaba Cloud server. Finally, end users can realize the water quality control of monitored water area by monitoring management platform. The experimental results show that the system has a good performance in terms of real-time data acquisition accuracy, data transmission reliability, and pollution alarm success rate. The average relative errors of water temperature, pH, turbidity, and conductivity are 0.31%, 0.28%, 3.96%, and 0.71%, respectively. In addition, the signal reception strength of the system within 2 km is better than -81 dBm, and the average packet loss rate is only 94%. In short, the system’s high accuracy, high reliability, and long distance characteristics meet the needs of large area water quality monitoring.

Abstract:Abstract This paper describes a distributed industrial park monitoring system based on NB-IoT technology. The system uses the STM32 to control the sensors work, and uses the NB-IoT communication module to realize the remote data transmission between the monitor terminal and the network server. This design is different from the traditional monitoring system based on the wide area Internet of Things, and has the advantages of low cost, low power consumption and wide coverage area.

Abstract:In recent years, China has participated in the global climate governance with a positive stance.The accurate, rapid, and reliable monitoring is fundamental for the situation awareness and layout optimization of the carbon emission.However, the state-of-the-art review with systematic studies of this topic has hardly been identified.The development process and the existing standards of carbon emission monitoring were investigated.The terminal equipment-based methods and the internet of things (IoT)-based applications for carbon emission monitoring were explored, and the IoT-based methods were concluded which hold the advantages including clear structure, flexible design, and reliable transmission.Based on the IoT, an industrial carbon emission monitoring method using the “cloud-tube-edge-end” IoT structure was established.The enabling technologies that can implement the functions of the “cloud-tube-edge-end” were summarized, which are expected to provide guidance for future carbon emission monitoring.

Abstract:This project intends to use 6LoWPAN technology to display the geographical location, temperature, humidity and other information of each cold chain storage node in real time. In this way, the electronic temperature and humidity of the cold chain library can be intelligently controlled. MSP430 is used as a microprocessor, and temperature and humidity sensors SHT11 and nRF24L01 are used as external devices to realize data detection and transmission. The cold chain logistics warehousing operation flow model combined with UML and multicolor set was constructed, and the model structure and time accessibility were analyzed. The expected execution time of the job flow model before and after optimization is compared. The effectiveness of the model optimization is verified.

Abstract:In view of the current intelligent agriculture’s collection and processing of production site data and the control requirements of related equipment, ZigBee, WiFi, GPRS traditional wireless sensing technology has short trans-mission distance and signal interference in greenhouse environment monitor-ing systems such as large-scale farms. shortcomings such as complex net-working, This work proposes a low-power farm environment detection system based on LoRa wireless technology. This model can use various sensors in the laboratory to complete the detection of soil and model environmental param-eters, and implement lighting control and irrigation control, cooling control and man-machine control. The designed system sleep current is as low as 0.3 $\mu$ A, the average working current, has the advantages of long transmission distance and low power consumption. After verifying the feasibility of the technology through an experimental model, the system was applied to a spe-cific greenhouse and data collection and analysis were completed.

Abstract:Abstract Aiming at the problems of high power consumption, weak scalability and short wireless transmission distance of dam safety monitoring system, the key technology of dam safety monitoring based on Lora is proposed. An intelligent monitoring terminal is designed based on ARM LPC1788 and Lora wireless communication module. The low-power relay mode with Lora and 4G transmission function is adopted, and the active loop calling process and threshold trigger early warning process are designed. The platform software automatically receives data to realize the intelligent collection, analysis and early warning of dam multi factor safety data. The engineering application effect is good.

Abstract:The development of communication technologies has brought about a revolution in agriculture and greenhouse farming. It has empowered farmers with the ability to monitor and control various parameters with greater precision and efficiency. As prolonged rainfall and excessive heat increase the risk of pests and diseases resulting in crop failure, an agricultural greenhouse is more important in the agricultural sector. The system of greenhouse cultivation is relatively new; therefore, farmers still use this system traditionally. The monitoring of different agriculture parameters, like humidity, temperature, brightness, etc., is done with the help of a human being. It is observed that farmers have to bear huge financial losses due to bad weather forecasts and bad methods of irrigation. Therefore, this research aims to develop a multi-greenhouse monitoring and control platform using IoT architecture based on LoraWAN modules.

Abstract:Soil temperature and humidity are important factors in affecting the condition of agricultural sector, which has an impact on the quality and quantity of the production. Lack of information on the condition of agricultural soil is one of the causes in productivity deficiency in the process of agricultural cultivation. The application of technology in the field of agriculture is expected to be able to reduce various adverse effects of agricultural soil conditions. One of which is by periodic monitoring, such as the temperature and humidity of agricultural soil. This research aims to design LoRa technology to be used as a data transmission medium for monitoring soil temperature and humidity by applying a system that is based on the Blynk application, which will make the users easier to monitor the system remotely. The temperature sensor was able to acquire data with 98.37% accuracy and the soil humidity sensor was able to acquire data with 91.63% accuracy. The changes in LoRa transmission parameters for monitoring data have an effect on the quality of its performance. The experimental results with Bandwidth variation (BW) from 31.25 kHz, 62.50 kHz, 125 kHz, 250 kHz, and 500 kHz at a distance of 15m, the best SNR and RSSI values were obtained for BW 31.25 kHz with values of 5.42 dB and -104.90 dBm. Whereas, the best ToA is obtained with a BW of 500 kHz with a value of 27.50 ms. While, the experimental result with the variation of Coding Rate (CR) from CR 4/5, 4/6, 4/7, and 4/8 at a distance of 15m, the best SNR and RSSI values were obtained CR 4/8 with values of 4.10 dB and -106.40 dBm and he best ToA was obtained CR 4/5 with a value of 112.70 ms. In testing by using variation Spreading Factor (SF) from SF7, SF9, and SF12, the higher the SF value used, the wider the range of area data communication will be. Configuration SF7 and SF9 were only able to reach a distance of 25m, while SF12 was able to reach a distance of 35m.

Abstract:Since transmission towers are generally located in areas with complex geological environments, such as mountains and rivers, relying only on conduct regular personnel inspections wastes considerable human and material resources. At present, the existing monitoring system has also the problems of data transmission, parameter accuracy and transmission distance. Based on this premise, a novel transmission tower tilt monistoring system was proposed in this paper. This research adopted the latest Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) technology. Among tehm, LoRa (Long Range) is a modulation technology that provides a longer communication distance. NB-IoT (Narrow Band-Internet of Things) technology is an emerging technology in the IoT field that supports the cellular data connection of low-power devices in a wide area network. The proposed system through the data transmission of a LoRa multinode network, the tilt parameters of tower were uploaded to an online real-time monitoring system through NB-IoT. Each subnode included MPU6050 tilt sensors and a wireless communication LoRa module. The main node contained an NB-IoT module. It can upload the tilt information to the cloud platform. After uploading the data, administrators can arrange timely targeted maintenance for transmission towers with faults according to the analysis results. The proposed approach covers a wide range, has high service quality, and supports many connections.

Abstract:Aiming at the lagging for the monitoring of warehouse and lacking the intelligence, an automated warehouse monitoring system is designed using the internet of things, which may be used to monitor the temperature, humidity, and case of fire in the warehouse simultaneously. The temperature and humidity sensor SHT10 is implemented as the detector of the temperature and humidity, the flame sensor R2868 and the ionic smoke transducer HIS-07 are implemented as the detector of smoke and flame to find the fire. These data are sent to the computer in the manager center through Zigbee technology and the computer will process and analyze them. When the fire occurs, this system can extinguish the fire and call the manager or 119 automatically. The experiments have been performed, and it is shown that the performance of system is reliable, which has the practical value.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of complex networking, high power consumption, and short communication distance of the communication technology used in the existing multi-loom data monitoring system, this paper adopts a LoRa technology with the advantages of strong anti-jamming ability, low operating power consumption, and long communication distance, and proposes a multi-loom data monitoring system program based on LoRa technology. Due to the large number of looms in the industrial field, multiple LoRa terminal nodes need to report data to the LoRa gateway nodes at the same time, the transmission frequency is relatively high and the channel load is heavy, and there is the problem of low channel utilization under the traditional data anti-collision algorithm. Aiming at the above problems, this paper proposes a communication mechanism based on the combination of binary tree conflict decomposition algorithm and TDMA, which can ensure that the communication of static time-slot type terminal nodes is free of data collision and reduce the node's power consumption, and at the same time, it can ensure that the terminal nodes that do not receive the receive answer frame can use the competition to report the data again within the dynamic time-slot assigned, so that the packets involved in the collision can be successfully transmission. In this paper, the remote monitoring system is designed in terms of both hardware and software systems. In order to prove the feasibility of the solution, practical tests show that the terminal nodes and gateway nodes can realize 100% no packet loss within 400 m in the loom industrial field environment, and the designed terminal nodes have low power consumption. It has some reference value in loom data monitoring.

Abstract:Abstract In the closed warehouse environment, this paper designed an intelligent temperature and humidity monitoring system based on the modular design method to solve the problem that the product is easy to damage. Based on the interaction between the STM32 Main control chip and the upper computer, the warehouse temperature, humidity dual control, and other functions can be realized. Experimental results show that the design can timely control the temperature and humidity in the warehouse. Moreover, the system has the function of data broadcasting. Consequently, product quality can be guaranteed to a great extent.
