Abstract:Science barely exists until it is published. It is only then that the information surpasses the limits of the author and can be shared by the scientific community. Although scientific articles must follow a rigidly defined structure, there is still room to tell a fascinating story, one that clearly conveys the science and is, at the same time, enjoyable for the reader. To do this, we must use the attributes that characterize good scientific style, with simple, clear, precise, direct, rigorous, and consistent language. Authorship implies authenticity and authority, and considering a researcher as an author entails rights and responsibilities. Scientific writing is not easy, it requires patience and practice; learning to write well is a lifelong task. With the philosophy that most of the qualities required to proficiently write a scientific article depend on attitude, and can be learned and improved upon, in this manuscript we will share with the reader a series of recommendations (based on our own experiences, both positive and negative), which we consider important for writing and successfully publishing. We will focus on the so-called «original» articles (as opposed to review articles, although many of the recommendations presented are applicable to both). Our main purpose is to encourage researchers to take the necessary step and face the challenge of becoming authors of their own scientific articles and successfully publishing their research.

Abstract:Writing scientific research article is necessary for the evolution of scientific knowledge and may be helpful in the professional advancement of researchers. It, thus far, not only improves the writing skill of the researcher but also opens the door to getting scientifically connected with peer groups. Many manuscripts are not being published in any scientific journal, simply because the author(s) have not adhered to the basic rules to construct a good manuscript or have not followed the publication guidelines as recommended by the journal. It is not a difficult job if the minimum standards or protocols are being followed systematically. The authors, in the present review, highlight the salient points to keep in mind before starting to write the manuscript and provide readers with a few elementary steps to generate a good quality manuscript. Moreover, a plan of the revision process that may require to publish the manuscript has also been highlighted.

Abstract:Scientific writing is a process requiring dedication, knowledge, and skills from different scientific fields. However, the authors, especially young people starting graduate studies and scientific careers, are likely to make some mistakes when writing, which often goes unnoticed. This study describes common mistakes in scientific writing and how to avoid them. Mistakes can occur in the writing process before and during the act of writing, as many authors are not familiar with or skip important steps to be considered beforehand. To prepare the manuscript, it is essential that authors master the study subject matter and that research results are supported. During writing, the author often misuses the necessary items in each section, losing the logical sense of research data and making the article difficult to read. Before the writing process begins, it is, therefore, necessary to plan each paragraph and use textual techniques that ensure cohesion and coherence between paragraphs. This study thus describes the main mistakes in the process of writing scientific articles, aiming at improving techniques, optimizing researchers' time to develop an appropriate, clear, and elegant text.

Abstract:Publication is the last stage of research. Writing the research article is also probably the shortest, least-expensive, and arguably the most important part of the process because the published article is usually the only lasting record of your research. In addition, readers often assume that the quality of the writing indicates the quality of the research. Clear, concise writing implies clear, concise thinking, which is necessary for good research. However, few authors are taught how to write an article; how to properly document their research and statistical analyses; how to prepare tables, graphs, and images for publication; what ethical issues need to be addressed; how to choose a journal; and how to communicate with the journal throughout the publishing process. In this article, I describe several ways to write a better research article. In addition to how to improve each section of the article—the title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and references—I offer advice for improving the writing itself. Using the techniques presented, you should be able to shorten your article substantially, without eliminating needed information, while improving clarity. Nothing guarantees acceptance by a journal, but a well-written article is easier to accept than a poorly written one. Once published, your article will be in the literature—forever—with your name on it. Given that the quality of your publications affects your professional reputation, making sure your publications are the best they can be is one of the greatest investments you can make in your career.

Abstract:Abstract Communicating research findings is an essential step in the research process. Often, peer-reviewed journals are the forum for such communication, yet many researchers are never taught how to write a publishable scientific paper. In this article, we explain the basic structure of a scientific paper and describe the information that should be included in each section. We also identify common pitfalls for each section and recommend strategies to avoid them. Further, we give advice about target journal selection and authorship. In the online resource 1, we provide an example of a high-quality scientific paper, with annotations identifying the elements we describe in this article.

Abstract:Over 15 years of teaching, advising students and coordinating scientific research activities and projects in computer science, we have observed the difficulties of students to write scientific papers to present the results of their research practices. In addition, they repeatedly have doubts about the publishing process. In this article we propose a conceptual framework to support the writing and publishing of scientific papers in computer science, providing a kind of guide for computer science students to effectively present the results of their research practices, particularly for experimental research.

Abstract:Context: A correctly drafted original article gives information on what was done, why it was done, how it was done, the result of what was done, and the significance of what was done. Many articles fail to report their results effectively. Objective: To describe the characteristics of an original article and to give practical recommendations to prevent the most common errors in our environment. Evidence acquisition: We performed a systematic search of the terms "how to write a scientific article", "structure of the original article" and "publishing an article" in the databases PubMed and SCOPUS. We analysed the structure of an original article and the characteristics of its parts and prepared advice on the publication of an article. Evidence synthesis: The journal's guidelines for authors should be read. It is usual for the original article to follow the IMRAD structure: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. The introduction states briefly why the study was performed. The methods' section should give a detailed explanation of how the study was performed. The results should be clearly presented, with the help of tables, without repeating information. The discussion explains the relevance of the results and contrasts them with those of other authors. Any limitations and a conclusion supported by the results must be included. Conclusions: Writing an original article correctly requires practice and it must be supported by a good research work in order to be published.

Abstract:How to write and publish quality papers and that too in a quality journal, is a puzzle that every scholar and researcher, particularly in their early careers, struggles to solve as early as possible. Here, I want to outline, in brief, how one can work toward writing and publishing a good paper. The writing style and structure of a paper depends on the type of manuscript, which can be broadly be categorised as empirical, and non-empirical. Empirical papers, which use empirical data to answer the research questions and/or testing hypotheses, are the most used form of published work in scientific journals. The types of non-empirical papers include conceptual, theoretical, review-based, case study, perspective, notes, commentary etc.

The focus is on the following ethical and non-technical issues: (1) when to start writing, and in what language; (2) how to choose a good title; (3) what should be included in the various sections (abstract, introduction, experimental, results, discussion, conclusions, and supporting information (supplementary material); (4) who should be considered as a co-author, and who should be acknowledged for help; (5) which journal should be chosen; and (6) how to respond to reviewers’ comments. Abstract:A research paper is a piece of academic writing that provides analysis, interpretation, and arguments based on in-depth independent research. A good research paper solidifies a researcher’s skill in scholarly writing. This paper describes the process it takes to write a good research paper; it highlights the processes necessary to write various sections of a research paper - Abstracts, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion. Digesting this research paper's content would ensure researchers can document information that would otherwise seep through due to a lack of research writing skills. The aim of this is to ensure that researchers can make original contributions to the scholarly base. An author's career, institution, and nation will be impacted by high-quality publication in indexed journals. Significant rejections could result from poor scientific writing. Therefore, writing a successful scientific publication for a peer-reviewed journal takes considerable time and expertise. A few easy actions and advice are provided to help researchers publish the findings of their work in the right scientific publications with greater expertise. Effective scientific writing frequently adheres to a specific format with important elements. The introduction to a specific issue with relevant background literature and theories to be studied, a list and explanation of the techniques, results, and a discussion that connects the results to the topic's broader information should all be included in a scientific paper's main text. For early researchers aiming to raise the caliber of their submissions for publication, this review piece is essential.

Abstract:Many young researchers face extreme difficulties while writing scientific articles, and there is seldom any specific training imparted as a part of under and postgraduate curriculums toward the art of presenting research work in written format. Yet, the publication is considered essential toward career advancement and for obtaining academic qualifications. We herein discuss the basic steps to follow in writing a scientific article using the Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion format. The Introduction explains the scope and objective of the study in the light of current knowledge on the subject; the Materials and Methods describes how the study was conducted; the Results section reports what was found in the study; and the Discussion section explains the meaning and significance of the results and provides suggestions for future directions of research. We enumerate the main elements that should appear in these sections, and some pointers for making the overall result attractive and acceptable for publication. We also have placed special emphasis on the methods section (Finer nuances of data collections, Informed consent, steps to seek approval by the Institutional Ethics Committee and authorship directives as per IJCME guidelines), Results (How to highlight the results of the study using illustrations, charts, and legends, and Discussion section ("Structured approach" and the "Divide and rule" approach). A hastily written article with incorrect methodology remains the primary reason for rejection by the journal reviewers, and following the above directives would contribute toward obtaining a fruitful result.

Abstract:Scientific writing is a demanding task and many students need more time than expected to finish their research articles. To speed up the process, we highlight some tools, strategies as well as writing guides. We recommend starting early in the research process with writing and to prepare research articles, not after but in parallel to the lab or field work. We suggest considering scientific writing as a team enterprise, which needs proper organization and regular feedback. In addition, it is helpful to select potential target journals early and to consider not only scope and reputation, but also decision times and rejection rates. Before submission, instructions to authors and writing guides should be considered, and drafts should be extensively revised. Later in the process editor's and reviewer's comments should be followed. Our tips and tools help students and advisors to structure the writing and publishing process, thereby stimulating them to develop their own strategies to success.

Abstract:SUMMARY Writing and publishing a scientific paper may seem a puzzling process, particularly to the initiate. There are, however, a number of rules that can make the process easier and ultimately more likely to meet with success. At the outset, you must be sure you have reason for writing the paper. You must have a message for your readers. This means that you have a well-constructed study and that any statistical analysis was planned along with the original study. Because you want the paper published, you understand that you have to first convince the journal reviewers and the editor of the value of your work. To help the reviewers, you will follow the usual rules of medical writing, and furthermore, you will write clearly and concisely. All numbers and statistics will be checked and double-checked by the senior author before sending the paper in. All figures will be looked at to see that they are easily understood and that they help the reader to better understand the manuscript. The reference section will contain the current work necessary for readers to be brought up to date, but not large numbers of out-of-date classics. Before writing the paper, you, as the author, will check the Information for Authors guidelines published in each journal and follow those instructions assiduously. Then, when a reply is received from the selected journal, you will understand that there are more steps to be completed before the paper is ready for the happy day of publication. Having thought of all of this in the preparation of the study and the writing of the manuscript, the likelihood is that you will meet with much success.

Abstract:A group of international researchers and editors summarize how (promptly and easily) an original manuscript can be written using certain tips and tricks. The authors guide novice colleagues with minimal experience using simple hints and straightforward advice in scholarly publishing. The main body of an original article is composed of four parts: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion (the IMRaD format). We make recommendations about how to write these sections. We also make suggestions regarding the title, abstract, key words, and references. In addition, we underline the importance of carefully reading and following general recommendations for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly papers. Specific guidelines are reviewed for improving clarity, accuracy, and transparency, from protocol registration and ethical approval to submission issues, inclusive of rehabilitation specificities. A thorough review of the mission and instructions of the journals under consideration is also critical, inclusive of manuscript preparation guidelines such as word limits of main text, limits in number and style of references, tables and figures, format, checklist, and other specific instructions. Finally, each and every sentence should be iteratively revised for grammar, style, and clarity.

Abstract:Abstract Scientific writing is an important skill in both academia and clinical practice. The skills for writing a strong scientific paper are necessary for researchers (comprising academic staff and health-care professionals). The process of a scientific research will be completed by reporting the obtained results in the form of a strong scholarly publication. Therefore, an insufficiency in scientific writing skills may lead to consequential rejections. This feature results in undesirable impact for their academic careers, promotions and credits. Although there are different types of papers, the original article is normally the outcome of experimental/epidemiological research. On the one hand, scientific writing is part of the curricula for many medical programs. On the other hand, not every physician may have adequate knowledge on formulating research results for publication adequately. Hence, the present review aimed to introduce the details of creating a strong original article for publication (especially for novice or early career researchers).
