Abstract:BackgroundThe aim of the study is to evaluate the role and efficacy of transvaginal ultrasound in detection of endometrial changes in breast cancer patients under hormonal therapy in correlation with histopathological results of endometrial biopsies. Fifty patients with breast cancer under tamoxifen were subjected to transvaginal ultrasonography, and the results are compared with histopathological results of endometrial biopsies from March 2018 to November 2018.ResultsTwenty-two patients (44%) had normal regular endometrium, and twenty-eight patients (56%) had abnormal ultrasonographic appearance with different types of pathology; there were 24 patients (85.7%) with endometrial abnormality and 4 patients (14.3%) with adnexal pathology. The twenty-four patients with endometrial abnormality were as follows: 10% endometrial atrophy, 4% endometrial carcinoma, 14% endometrial hyperplasia, and 7% endometrial polyp with sensitivity of 92.9% and accuracy of 96% in comparison to histopathology results.ConclusionWe found in our study that transvaginal ultrasonography is a sensitive and rather specific method to evaluate the endometrial lesions, so we concluded that it is a necessary screening tool for detection of endometrial abnormalities in breast cancer patients under hormonal therapy.
Diagnostic Accuracy of Transvaginal Ultrasound Versus Hysteroscopy in Evaluation of Endometrial Pathology in Breast Cancer Women Receiving Tamoxifen: Correlation with Histopathological Examination

Abstract:ABSTRACT Background: Multiple endometrial lesions have been reported in tamoxifen -treated breast cancer patients. As a consequence, a thorough uterine cavity examination is often necssary. Objective: To compare the efficacy of transvaginal ultrasound versus hysteroscopy in detecting the endometrial changes in tamoxifen-treated breast cancer patients, and to correlate the findings of both methods with histopathological examination of endometrial biopsies. Patients and methods: Twenty seven patients who had mastactomies for breast cancer and receiving tamoxifen (TAM) were enrolled in this prospective study. They subjected to transvaginal ultrasonography (TVUS) and hysteroscopy for endometrial assessment. Endometrial biopsy was taken from all participants for hitstopathological examination. The ultrasongraphic and hysteroscopic findings were compared and correlated with the histopathological results. Results: The diagnostic accuracy of TVUS versus hysteroscopy in detecting endometrial changes in breast cancer TAM treated women was as follows;TVUS had a sensitivity (82.4%), specificity (30.0%), PPV (66.7%), NPV (50.0%) and accuracy (63%) ;while, the hysteroscope had sensitivity (94.1%), specificity (60.0%), PPV (80.0%), NPV (85.7%) and accuracy (81.5%). Conclusion: Because of certain discrepancies between TVUS and histopathological results in TAM treated women, TVUS is not the best tool for evaluating the endometrium in those patients. The utility of the hysteroscopic image processing helps in the triage of women who require endometrial surveillance, so it will reduce the pathologist's workload and the patient's apprehension while waiting for histopathology result. Nevertheless hysteroscope cannot establish a conclusive diagnosis of premalignant or malignant lesions, but it provides a direct view for targeted biopsies to create a definitive diagnosis.

Abstract:Background: Breast cancer with advanced stages at a young age is a significant new challenge in Sudan. The purpose of this study was to determine the most common presentations of breast cancer patients in western Sudan. Methodology: For this retrospective descriptive investigation, materials for 183 breast cancer patients were obtained from two histopathology centers (Kordofan histopathology center and El-Obeid International Hospital). A full coverage sample was collected, spanning from January 2019 to May 2024. All data pertaining to the patient's essential identifying, clinical, and histological data were gathered. Results: This study looked at 183 breast cancer patients (177 (96.7%) women and 6 (3.3%) men). Their ages ranged from 20 to 90, with a mean ± standard deviation of 50.78 ± 13.6 years. The majority of participants were aged 41-50 years, followed by ≥61 and 51-60 years, with 50/183 (27%), 43 (23%), and 35 (19%), respectively. For clinical appearance, the most common skin change was unremarkable, followed by ulcerated skin change, which accounted for 127/183 (69%) and 48 (26%) respectively. Conclusion: Breast cancer with advanced stages upon presentation is common in Sudan. The majority of patients presented at a younger age and had distinct initial manifestations.

Abstract:Abstract Background The poor prognosis of breast cancer in Sudan could be due to delayed treatment and diagnosis at an advanced stage. Our study aimed to assess the extent of delays from onset of symptoms to treatment in Sudanese women with breast cancer, as well as identify factors contributing to these delays. Materials and Methods We conducted a multi-center cross sectional study between March and April 2023. Data were collected from the medical records and interviews with women with breast cancer in the two main oncology centers in Sudan. Linear regression was used to identify the predictors of delayed presentation. Results We interviewed 601 women with breast cancer. The majority of women (50.1%) were diagnosed at locally advanced or metastatic disease. The median interval from the onset of symptoms to receiving oncologic treatment was 221 days (IQR = 92, 496). The longest delay was the presentation delay 61 (31 244) days. The median duration for diagnosis delay and treatment delay was 21 (10.57) days and 27 (10.64) days, respectively. Predictors of early presentation included, being young (β = −5.3; 95% CI = 0.06 to 10), married (β = −264; 95% CI = −427 to −101), divorced (β = −306; 95% CI = −549 to −63), or widowed (β = −320; 95% CI = −-543 to −97), urban residence (β = −107; 95% CI = −213 to −2.3), and seeking traditional healer (β = −204; 95% CI = −383 to −26). Conclusion Most Sudanese women with breast cancer experience significant patient delays, often presenting at advanced stages. Factors like being single, older, and living in rural areas contribute to these delays. Increasing breast cancer education, improving healthcare access and addressing sociodemographic barriers can potentially expedite diagnosis and improve outcomes.

Evaluation of endometrial thickness in breast cancer patients with tamoxifen treatment - Difference between 2-dimensional ultrasonography and elastosonography

Abstract:Objective: This study aimed to confirm the clinical significance of elastographic endometrium measurement in comparison with conventional ultrasonography for tamoxifen users with breast cancer. Materials and methods: In this retrospective analysis, 98 women receiving tamoxifen as postoperative breast cancer treatment were included. Patient medical charts were reviewed, and related medical, obstetric, and gynecological information and histories relevant to breast cancer were evaluated. Patient clinical imaging data included endometrial thickness measurements using both conventional ultrasonography and elastography, and the differences between these two modalities in delta values were statistically analyzed along with possible influencing factors. Results: Endometrial thickness measured using 2-dimensional ultrasonography had a mean value of 5.81 mm (standard deviation [SD] = 3.09), and elastosonography showed a mean value of 3.07 mm (SD = 1.62). A paired t-test was conducted and a significant difference between them was confirmed (P-value <0.001). Logistic regression analysis revealed that age and duration of tamoxifen treatment significantly influenced the degree of difference between endometrial thickness measurements. Conclusions: Elastosonography may be a more successful and useful tool for measuring actual endometrial thickness than generalized 2-dimensional ultrasonography. In clinical cases with limited use of elastosonography and consequent inability for thorough evaluation of endometrial thickness, practitioners should exercise caution in deciding whether or not to adopt invasive diagnostic procedures, such as endometrial curettage, especially for young patients of reproductive age or those with prolonged treatment of breast cancer with tamoxifen.

Abstract:Background: Tamoxifen (TMX) is regarded as standard treatment for breast cancer (BC) patients‎. In recent years, several studies have reported gynecological side effects and due to TMX's estrogenic effects. Here, we evaluate the side effects of TMX on the ‎endometrium and ovaries of female BC patients. Methods: This was an ultrasound-based cohort study conducted in three oncology centers in Baghdad, Iraq. A total of ‎‎255 female patients were included, 140 premenopausal (PreM) and 115 postmenopausal (PostM), with estrogen receptor (ER)-positive BC using TMX adjuvant hormonal treatment for at least three months after surgery and adjuvant ‎chemo/radiotherapy.‎ Ultrasound (US) on the endometrium and ovaries of the women following ‎BC surgery/chemotherapy (baseline) and at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months following was performed‎. Data collected included age, menopausal status, co-morbid chronic illness and medications, including duration of TMX treatment. Results: Presence of ovarian cyst was significantly higher in the PreM ‎compared to PostM ‎women, while there were no significant differences for other gynecological findings.‎ At ‎baseline, endometrial thickness (ET) was significantly higher in the PreM compared to the PostM women. In both groups, women with increased ET became more frequent from baseline to 3 ‎months, from 3 to 6 ‎months, from 6 to 12 months, and from 12 ‎ to 24 months. At all time periods, ‎women with increased ET was ‎significantly higher in the PostM compared PreM women, resulting ‎in a risk of ET increase by 6 folds (ranging from 3 – ‎‎11 folds) ‎in PostM compared to PreM women. Conclusions: Longer duration of TMX is associated with increased ET. Duration of TMX did not appear to increase the risk of various gynecological outcomes, for example endometrial cancer rate was low. Finally, there was an increase in ET, which appeared to be six-folds higher in PostM compared to PreM women.‎

Abstract:Background: Chemotherapy-related toxicity affects the quality of life (QOL) of patients with cancer. Measuring the QOL in breast cancer (BC) patients has been the focus of clinical practices and research in recent decades. This study aimed to assess the impact of BC medications on QOL of Sudanese patients with BC. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Khartoum Oncology Hospital, Sudan, from November 2020 to March 2021. All patients diagnosed with BC were included in the study. QOL was assessed using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality of life (EORTC QLQ-C-30) and breast cancer supplementary module (QLQ-BR23). ANOVA, independent t-test and logistic regression analysis were used to assess the association between variables. Results: Two hundred patients were enrolled in the study, with a mean age of 50 ± 11.7 years. 52.5% of the patients were on a conventional therapy whereas 40.5% and 7% received hormonal and HER2-targeted therapies, respectively. In QLQ-C30 scale, the global health-QOL status score was (53.2 ± 1.9), with 54.0% of patients having poor global health-QOL status. In the functional scale, the cognitive functioning was the highest score (80.7 ± 1.8). In QLQ-C30 symptom scale, the most distressing issue was financial difficulties (63.7 ± 2.9). In QLQ-BR23 scale, body image scored the worse functioning (47.7 ± 2.7), with 54.5% of patients having poor QOL. In QLQ-BR23 symptoms scale, "being upset by hair loss" was the highest disturbing symptom (62.1 ± 3.3), with 68.6% of patients having poor QOL. Global health status (P = 0.000), social (P = 0.000), emotional (P = 0.002) and role functioning (P = 0.000) were significantly higher in patients taking HER2-targeted or hormonal therapy compared to conventional therapy. The level of symptomatology was significantly low in patients taking HER2-targeted therapy or hormonal therapy (P = 0.000) than those on conventional therapy. Hormonal (OR = 3.7, p = 0.01) and HER2-targeted therapies (OR = 10.2, p = 0.04 ) were positive predictors of QOL. Conclusion: BC survivors in Sudan had a low QOL/global health status. Hormonal and HER2-targeted therapies were predictors of good QOL.

Abstract:Background: Tamoxifen shows complex hormonal actions, breast cancer that occurs in the premenopausal period treated with tamoxifen created huge quantities of estrogen. Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of ovarian cysts formation in tamoxifen treatments by ultra-sonographic examinations. Method: A prospective study was carried out in the Oncology and Nuclear medicine specialist Hospital, Mosul/Iraq. There were 14 premenopausal and 36 postmenopausal patients. The inclusion criteria were patients with breast cancer who had been on tamoxifen therapy. Fifty patients were included during a period of 10 months. The following parameters were assessed by ultrasound, endometrial thickness and ovaries conditions, with clinical parameters, age of patients, weight, and associated symptoms. Results: A total of 50 patients getting tamoxifen management, 14 (28%) of them are premenopausal range their age was between 25 to 44 years, and 36 (72%) postmenopausal range their age was between 45 to 78 years. There’s a correlation between the age group of patients and ovarian changes and cystic formation the ovarian cysts were diagnosed. There’s a relation between increased endometrial thickness and incidence of ovarian cyst in patients receiving tamoxifen therapy and mild relation between increased endometrial thickness and RT ovarian cystic formation in which the p-value of RT ovary = .049. In contrast, the LT ovary shows a relation with p-value = .025, which was significant. Conclusion: Ovarian cysts are common genital tract complications of tamoxifen therapy, which had been developed in this study in about 20% of cases. Ovarian cysts can grow together with premenopausal and postmenopausal patients getting tamoxifen for treated breast cancer.

Abstract:Abstract Background Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed malignancy among women worldwide. In contrast to Europe, it presents generally very late in Africa. As with the rest of Africa, it is the most common primary malignancy of females in Sudan, and generally presents in stage III or IV disease. This study is intended to analyse the level of breast cancer awareness among women of Sudan. Objective To assess the level of awareness of breast cancer among Sudanese females, and their attitude towards breast changes. Also, to establish possible associations between several variables: (education level, age, contact with a breast cancer patient, residence) on awareness. Methodology A descriptive cross-sectional community-based study of 385 females in Omdurman city, selected by convenience sampling. An interview based Arabic version of Breast Cancer Awareness Measure (BCAM) was used. Data was coded and analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) v.20. Results A total of 385 females were included, of which 38.7% were 20–30 years, 47.8% were single, 53.8% had university education, 41% of them were currently unemployed, and 54.3% resided in Ummbadda’s locality. When asked about the signs and risk factors of breast cancer, 55.06% and 55.8% failed to name any. The cumulative percentage of correct answers of close-ended question about signs, risk factors and Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) screening program were 42.8%, 30.7% and 44.7% in that order. Only 38.2% knew the right method BSE, 48.2% of them rarely practiced it. 38.2% noticed a change in the breast tissue but didn’t visit a doctor. The majority of them, though, said they would see a doctor if they noticed a change in the future. Conclusion There is a severe lack of awareness of breast cancer among females of the Sudanese society. Also, there was a clear ignorant attitude practiced by a significant proportion of the candidates. Recommendations Further research, to address the limitations of this study is to be done. FMoH has to improve its media massage and arrange targeted awareness campaigns.

The clinic-pathology of gynecological complications in 134 cases of breast cancer

Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinic-pathology characteristics of gynecological complications in 134 women with breast cancer, and to explore the relationship between these characteristics and postoperative management of Tamoxifen (TAM).Methods The clinic-pathological features of 90 patients taken postoperative TAM and 44 without TAM were analyzed retrospectively. Results Different main complain was observed in the two groups: TAM group was the abnormalities detected by B sonography (68.9%), while vaginal irregular bleeding or the changes of menstruation in the control group (31.8%,P<0.05). Endometrial polyps were found in 25.6% of the TAM group whereas 9.1% of the control group (P<0.05). More endometrial hyperplasia was diagnosed in TAM group than in the control group, 30.0% vs. 13.6%, P<0.05. The TAM group and the contral group developed endometrial carcinoma at ratio of 1∶3. More TAM group had uterus myoma or adenomyosis than the control, 66.2% vs. 44.1%, P<0.05. No significant difference between the two groups was observed on the pathology of cervix and ovary. The most common pathological changes were chronic cervicitis (82.8%), and functional ovarian cysts (34.2%). The incidences of endometrial polyps and cervical polyps increased as the TAM taken time increased (P<0.05), while the incidences of uterus myoma or myoma degeneration was not related to the TAM taken time (P>0.05). TAH+BSO was conducted in 68.9% of the TAM group and 61.4% of the control group. The therapy by IUD was 10.0% and 2.3% in the two groups, respectively. Conclusions The incidences of endometrial diseases and uterus myoma or adenomyosis in the patients with breast cancer receiving Tamoxifen are increased. And the endometrial diseases are positively related to the TAM taken time. All breast cancer patients should be closely and routinely checked up by transvaginal sonography or hysteroscopy, and receive effective and less invasive therapy.

Abstract:Tamoxifen is a selective oestrogen receptor modulator widely used in breast cancer treatment, with good survival rates. Its partial agonist action on other tissues such as the uterus, however, promotes the development of endometrial hyperplasia and cancer. It appears that tamoxifen does not alter the age of menopause and women may still get pregnant while on tamoxifen. We present the case of a 47-year-old Chinese woman with breast cancer on tamoxifen, who presented with one episode of heavy per vaginal bleeding after 2 years of amenorrhoea. Her urine pregnancy test was negative and the ultrasound scan was suspicious for malignancy. She underwent a hysteroscopic evaluation for abnormal bleeding on tamoxifen. Histopathology confirmed products of conception. This case illustrates the importance of understanding the rise and decline of human chorionic gonadotropin in pregnancy, as well as the pivotal role of contraception despite having amenorrhoea on tamoxifen.

Abstract:Objective:To explore the characteristics and significances of expressions of Ki67,estrogen receptor,and progestogen receptor in endometrium,the relationship between the thickness of endometrium and time,age in patients with breast cancer after oral administration of Tamoxifen. Methods:A total of 48 patients with breast cancer who were treated with Tamoxifen were selected,then routine transvaginal ultrasonography was performed to examine the situations of bilateral uterine appendages,diagnostic curettage was conducted when ultrasonography indicated that the thickness of endometrium was more than 5 mm;the endometrial tissues of 16 patients after curettage received pathological examination,estrogen receptor,progestogen receptor,and Ki67 were detected by immunohistochemical method.Thirty patients without drug therapy were selected as control group,pathological examination showed there was no endometrial lesions,and the samples received immunohistochemical staining,the expressions of estrogen receptor,progestogen receptor,and Ki67 in endometrium were detected,the thickness of endometrium was detected by ultrasonography. Results:The results of ultrasonography in the patients with breast cancer: 23 patients were found with hysteromyoma(47.92%),9 patients were found with ovarian cyst(18.75%),one patient was found with endometrial polyps(2.08%),4 patients were found with adenomyosis.In Tamoxifen group,the expression levels of estrogen receptor and progestogen receptor in glands of endometrium were higher than those in normal endometrium(secretory phase).The correlation between expression of progestogen receptor in glands and positive rate of Ki67 in Tamoxifen group and control group was the strongest. Conclusion:There was a positive correlation between estrogen receptor expression,progestogen receptor expression and Ki67 expression.The endometrium of patients with breast cancer who were treated with oral administration of Tamoxifen after menopause was easy to thicken.The proportion of endometrium with estrogen receptor and progestogen receptor(+++) after curettage was high after oral administration of Tamoxifen,which was correlated with Ki67 expression.Ultrasonography showed that Tamoxifen can induce gynecological complications,such as hysteromyoma,ovarian cyst,endometrial polyps,and adenomyosis.The endometrium of postmenopausal patients with breast cancer was easy to thicken.
Adherence, clinical benefits, and adverse effects of endocrine therapies among women with nonmetastatic breast cancer in developing countries: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract:Background: Despite significant advances in breast cancer control and survival with endocrine therapies (ETs), treatment utilization and outcomes in developing countries have not been adequately explored. This review evaluated ET adherence, potential benefits, and harms in populations across developing countries. Methods: A literature search was conducted through August 2023 in five databases: PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Global Health, and WHO Global Index Medicus. Retrieved records were screened to identify observational research presenting at least one outcome in women with nonmetastatic breast cancer in developing countries who received ET (tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors). A random effects model was used to compute the rates of adherence, discontinuation, adverse events (AEs), disease progression, and death. Results: A total of 104 studies met the inclusion criteria. Risk of bias was low in most studies, and a large portion of the patients involved Asians. The overall heterogeneity between studies was partially attributed to variations in study design or outcome measurement method. Results showed a pooled adherence rate of 75% (95% confidence interval [CI], 67%-81%) and a discontinuation rate of 16% (95% CI, 10%-25%). Treatment side effects and young age consistently emerged as significant predictors of nonadherence. A wide range of AEs was identified in our analysis. The estimated average rates of cancer recurrence and mortality at 5-years were 16% and 8%, respectively. Conclusions: The findings of this study underscore suboptimal ET use in developing countries and provide comprehensive insights into treatment experiences in the real-world setting. Targeted strategies are warranted to enhance adherence and subsequently optimize treatment benefits.

Abstract:Background . Difficulties in the prevention and treatment of endometrial pathology in hormone-positive breast cancer are associated with the lack of an unambiguous understanding of the mechanisms of the effect of tamoxifen on target tissues and the development of possible hyperestrogenism. Aim . To study the effect of ovarian steroidogenesis on the endometrium during adjuvant therapy with tamoxifen in pre-menopausal patients with hormone-dependent breast cancer. Materials and methods . All patients at inclusion in the study had intact menstrual function and received adjuvant therapy with tamoxifen. Group 1 included 42 patients without chemotherapy, group 2 included 41 patients with chemotherapy. Depending on the safety of the menstrual function, each group was divided into 2 subgroups. At the control points (3, 6 and 9 months from the start of tamoxifen therapy) patients underwent transvaginal ultrasound with measurement of endometrial thickness, and also determined the content of follicle-stimulating hormone and estradiol in peripheral blood. When menstruation persisted, blood sampling and measurement of endometrial thickness were performed on days 5-8 of the menstrual cycle. Results . In subgroups 1A and 2C, patients with preserved menstrual function showed a trend towards higher values of estradiol levels and endometrial thickness, compared with subgroups 1B and 2D of patients with amenorrhea. Against this background, the absence of statistically significant intergroup differences in the content of follicle-stimulating hormone in patients receiving tamoxifen with a preserved menstrual cycle (1A and 2C) and amenorrhea (1B and 2D) attracts attention. An intragroup analysis of follicle-stimulating hormone dynamics in patients with amenorrhea without chemotherapy in subgroup 1C shows an increase in its content by 162 %, without statistically significant changes in endometrial thickness and estradiol concentration. The statistically significant increase in endometrial thickness by 25 % and the proportion of patients with increasing endometrial wall thickness in 63.3 % in the 2D subgroup in patients receiving tamoxifen, with amenorrhea and previous chemotherapy treatment are cause for concern. Conclusion . The results of the study indicate a possible additive effect of such factors as intact menstrual function before the start of treatment for hormone-positive breast cancer, chemotherapy, and the development of amenorrhea on the progressive increase in endometrial thickness when using tamoxifen in premenopausal patients.

Abstract:Purpose: Sexual dysfunction is an important concern of premenopausal women with early breast cancer. We investigated predictors of sexual problems in two randomized controlled trials. Methods: A subset of patients enrolled in TEXT and SOFT completed global and symptom-specific quality-of-life indicators, CES-Depression and MOS-Sexual Problems measures at baseline, six, 12 and 24 months. Mixed models tested the association of changes in treatment-induced symptoms (baseline to 6 months), depression at 6 months, and age at randomization with changes in sexual problems over 2 years. Results: Sexual problems increased by 6 months and persisted at this level. Overall, patients with more severe worsening of vaginal dryness, sleep disturbances and bone or joint pain at 6 months reported a greater increase in sexual problems at all time-points. Depression scores were significantly associated with sexual problems in the short-term. All other symptoms had a smaller impact on sexual problems. Age was not associated with sexual problems at any time-point. Conclusion: Among several key symptoms, vaginal dryness, sleep disturbance, and bone and joint pain significantly predicted sexual problems during the first 2 years. Early identification of these symptoms may contribute to timely and tailored interventions.

Abstract:Background: Menopause is a natural stage in life and part of the aging process. it marks when a woman’s period stops as her ovaries stop producing eggs. Many changes take place in the physiological parameters some of which are known to enhance the risk of vascular-related diseases such as stroke and ischemic heart disease. This study aimed to estimate the platelets count, PT, APTT, fibrinogen level D-dimer, and protein C level among Healthy Menopausal Sudanese Women. Material and methods: This was a case-control study conducted at the laboratory of the national university at Khartoum state during the period of December 2022 to April 2023. Apparently, healthy menopausal women who lost their menstrual period for more than one year were included as a case group, and apparently healthy women during the reproductive period were included as a control group. The platelets were counted by using Automated Hematology Analyzer, Sysmex KX 21N (series SN B 2010), PT, APTT by coagulometer (Automated Bio Bas), Fibrinogen level by using the coagulometer (Automated Bio Bas) by BioMed-Fibrinogen kite BioMed-Fibrinogen kite, I chroma was used for the D-dimer, protein C was measured by using (URIT 660 AESKULISA Protein C and S Microplate read. Results: In the case group the means of platelets count, PT, APTT, Fibrinogen, D-dimer, and Protein C were; (251.3±38.2), (16.9±2.1), (32.9±7.7), (381.0±269.1) (0.59±0.17) and (89.9±16.3) respectively. while in the control group, the means of platelets count, PT, INR, APTT, Fibrinogen, D-dimer, and Protein C were; (291.8±73.5), (13.5±1.5), (31.3±2.7), (212.5±77.3) (0.33±0.12) and (82.2±14.2) also respectively. when comparing the parameters means between the case and control group the results revealed; there was a significant decrease in platelets counts (p. v = 0.001), a significant increase in PT and fibrinogen levels (p. v = 0.000), and insignificant differences for the APTT, D-dimer, and protein C (p. v > 0.05). In addition to that, there was a negative correlation between the parameters and the age and the A menorrhea (p. v > 0.05) Conclusion: In the Sudanese menopausal women, there was a significant decrease in platelets counts, and a significant increase in PT and fibrinogen levels, with insignificant differences for the APTT, D-dimer, and protein C when compared between the case and control group, in addition, the parameters had a negative correlation with the age and the A menorrhea.
