Abstract:the French word "etiquette" means "label". This concept is regarded as a philosophical, ethical, and linguistic and cultural notion. And the failure of etiquette in speech is a great problem of communication. As everybody knows, etiquette, including speech, is a set of rules of behavior that are associated with the external manifestation of attitudes to people. The external manifestation usually shows the inner essence of the relationship, which should naturally be mutually polite and kind. But the fact that etiquette has a national character, has its own cultural characteristics, takes it beyond the scope of one science. The study of speech etiquette needs special attention because it stands at the intersection of linguistics, cultural theory and history, ethnography, country studies, psychology, and other disciplines. Here, we will consider etiquette from the point of view of linguoecology as an obligatory component of linguoculturology.

Abstract:The article deals with the peculiarities of communicative politeness in the poorly investigated sphere of Russian-language communication focusing specifically on online groups. The purpose of the article is to identify the ways and means used in this environment for the organization of polite communication. A distinctive feature of the author’s research approach is the analysis of etiquette in the context of a dialogue, which means not only the analysis of the rules of stimulus, but also the rules of reaction, which corresponds to the systematic approach as a general principle of media linguistics (as a research method). The article defines speech etiquette as a system of norms and rules of polite speech behavior, the observance of which ensures the existence of the online community. The study allows us to conclude that the communicative tactics of etiquette in online groups are as follows: a) the participant’s inclusion into the community is regulated; b) bans on some forms of speech behavior are established and sanctions for violations of bans are imposed; c) high communicative status is provided to the author in different ways and freedom for creative self-expression is guaranteed to each participant; d) on the one hand, the establishment of contacts with a partner suitable in one or another parameter is stimulated, on the other hand, the degree of the partners’ proximity is regulated in accordance with the wish of its initiator; e) the opportunity to give/receive a response to a particular activity of the communication initiator is provided. These setups are implemented via a variety of resources, including both technical and speech means of address and response. Netiquette, drawings and images help to ensure emotional comfort. An adequate communicative distance is supported by abbreviations used in speech and understood only by the group members, by creating an adequate balance in the use of elevated and low stylistic means, in the use of methods creating a comic effect. Following speech etiquette rules is promoted by a kind of communication sanitation, which is carried out by the group administrator and the participants themselves. Participants use a metatext, which demonstrates the reflection of the group participants’ speech activity. The existing rules in online communities are aimed at making communication emotionally comfortable, ensuring easy navigation, neutralization of aggression, and prevention of speech crimes, encouraging the users to demonstrate courtesy and display attention to one another.
Sociolinguistic portrait of pupils institutes of noble maidens in Russia in the 19th century (based on memoir literature)

Abstract:The article is devoted to the history of the formation of the Russian youth social dialect. Despite a large number of research on youth slang speech, there are issues related to the history, the nature of the youth social dialect, its functions, sociolinguistic portraits of its bearers remain unsolved. Among the representatives of the existing social types of the XIX century — pupils of closed educational institutions, active carriers and creators of schoolish language (seminarians, cadets, gymnasium students, students, schoolgirls, lyceum students). The author of the article has given a sociolinguistic portrait of the pupils of the institutes of noble maidens, the sociocultural conditions for the formation of institutional jargon are shown and characteristic features are described: emotionality, naivete, the interweaving of enthusiastic vocabulary with disapproval, the spread of diminutive forms, the influence of the French language, a wealth of word-formation opportunities. The closed nature of the institutions, the atmosphere reigning in them, the moral spirit, the forms of leisure — all this left an imprint on the peculiarities of the speech communication of the pupils, the composition of the existing vocabulary. The results of the study are illustrated by rich linguistic material, among sources of which an important place is occupied by rare memoir sources, recollections of pupils of the institutes of noble maidens. Artistic memoirs fix popular words and expressions from the past in certain schools, and also provide objectivity and scientific weight of conclusions about the composition and functioning of jargons of various student corporations of pre-revolutionary Russia. The language of the pupils of the Institute of Noble Maidens gives an idea of their subculture, reveals the secrets of word-creation of the female community.
Historical and psychological transformations of etiquette behavior of personality

Abstract:The etiquette behavior is analyzed in a context of history-genesis of the ritual-domestic behavior of the personality in the aspect of its individualization. Based on approaches developed in pragmatics and social psychologists - to studying of politeness and good manners, the etiquette behavior is constructed in the practical regular space and has mainly communicative focus. The psychological and historical transformations of the etiquette behavior of the personality are analyzed in terms of the social constructionism and social constructivism, their methodology enables to study the convergence of the rationality types and regular social practice in order to research politeness and good manners. Considering specifics of the modern life in comparison to the traditional tenor of life, polite conversation gains the character of social illocutionary constructing with its characteristic dialogueness and non-stereotypicalness of expression in the form of a social small talk. The specified transformations are traced on the example of the origin of knightly etiquette and to a cult of the Great Lady.

Abstract:In the epoch of intercultural communication, professional foreign language proficiency and a high level of communicants’ competence are of great significance. One of the aspects of communicative competence is the possession of skills of speech etiquette formulae application. In the present paper, the author compares some etiquette forms in English, Russian, and Tatar and discusses the use of etiquette formulae expressed in words and phrases corresponding to different communicative situations. The author came to the conclusion that despite the fact that communicative situations are universal, people’s verbal behavior is characterized by national and cultural peculiarities. The choice of etiquette formulae may be conditioned by factors of demographic nature, contextual details, exact words of the actual conversations, habits, traditions, etc. The main communicative and relevant features of the Russian and Tatar languages are special attention and interest in the interlocutor, broad awareness, sincerity, and excessive curiosity. Relevant property of the English communication is individualism, non-interference to others’ affairs, observance of privacy, positiveness, and phatic communication. British verbosity is merely a politeness strategy, that is, a demonstration of respect and attention to others, sincerity is not a necessary condition there. The choice of Tatar etiquette words and expressions in speech situations depends on the influence of religion and religious beliefs.

Abstract:The article aims to study the form and functions of some etiquette speech formulas in Early New High German. On the material Hans Sachs’s carnival play Das Narrenscheyden (Cure of Fools, 1557) from the standpoint of speech etiquette, the cases of using addresses, greetings, farewells, requests, advice, etc. are analyzed. The methodological basis is determined by the theoretical position of historical pragmatic linguistics of the potential possibility of using old texts as a source of linguistic material. The article presents for the first time the specificity of the use of speech formulas of etiquette in the works of H. Sachs in the aspect of their translation into modern Russian. Particular attention is paid to the features of the genre of Shrovetide plays, as well as to the problem of translating of Knittelvers, traditionally aligned in Russian into iambic tetrameter. The article notes the role of H. Sachs as one of the first authors of his time, who consistently assigned linguistic features of social differentiation to the speech of the characters. In this regard, an attempt is made to trace the variability of etiquette speech formulas depending on the situation of speech interaction. In addition to thе main functions of etiquette formulas, regulatory and characterizing functions are distinguished (etiquette speech formulas as markers of the development of dramatic action and means of creating character images). The obtained results contribute to the study of the features of speech interaction, presented on the basis of texts from distant eras and their translations.

Abstract:The issue of gender influencing the language has long been discussed in linguistics. But a great number of researches are focused on making a list of speech means, the use of which must reflect the specifics of female and male communicative types. From our viewpoint it is more fruitful to make a complex study of speech behavior in a single society united by some signs, outlining typical communicative scenarios. In this relation it is methodically correct to outline the etiquette line and to consider its peculiarities to determine the specifics of female speech behavior in the web. As an empiric material we used female weblogs as a unique deflection of the traditional genre of personal diary. The weblog is different from its offline version by the initial orientation on the wide (occasional, it is better to say) audience. Gradually the author forms a range of regular readers — subscribers who leave comments under each publication (or post) in the log. Inside each log along with typical for all female weblogs etiquette rules there exist own ones, due to the peculiarities of speech and non-speech self-presentation of the weblog author. As the study shows, it is typical for female speech behavior to strictly follow the selected rituals, to find violations of etiquette and to struggle with such violations, to long to psychological comfort as a main communicative value, to follow topical unity inside a single dialogue cycle, emotional dynamic which leads to the appearance of specific aggressive forms in speech — catfights, discussion of private life, entering the private sphere.

Abstract:The aim of the article is to study the problem of training students for teaching speech etiquette to pupils in linguistic subjects. The research ob-ejectives are studying the concept of speech etiquette, analyzing its structure, developing direction soft raining pedagogical students for teaching speech etiquette. The research is based on a multi-level methodology, which includes the following scientific approaches: system approach, axiological and personality-oriented approaches. The main results in visage clarifying the concept of etiquette in the didactic aspect, studying the structure of students' readiness in the field of etiquette, and investigating the process of future teachers training for teaching etiquette to pupils. The conclusions of the article contain the description of the readiness structure, which includes knowledge of speech etiquette rules, the skills of using basic etiquette expressions, the student’s personal qualities (tolerance of a different opinion, politeness); as well as the content of training pedagogical students, realized via a system of classes, extracurricular activities, teaching practice. The originality and significance of the data obtained lies in the development of a holistic system of training students for teaching speech etiquette to pupils in the linguistic subjects. The practical significance of the research implies that practical experience to train students for teaching speech etiquette to pupils has been suggested in the paper on the example of linguistic subjects. The direction of further research: further research of the problem might be done by means of integrating academic subjects, working out optional courses on the issue in question.
Comparative analysis of speech etiquette in modern Russian and Chinese

Abstract:The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of speech etiquette in the modern Russian and Chinese languages; it is noted that an important feature of speech etiquette is a reflection of the national culture and national specifics of speech behavior. Speech etiquette includes communicatively significant meanings: social, international, emotional and evaluative, and identifying and understanding these meanings is impossible without taking into account the national specifics of etiquette rules. The article examines in detail the formulas of speech etiquette related to the situations of address, gratitude, apology and request in Russian and Chinese, analyzes the system of kinship terms in Chinese, which is more detailed compared to the Russian language, provides the results of analyzing the use of proper names in speech formulas. The article considers the choice of lexical means in address, request and gratitude, depending on the characteristics of the communicative situation (the relationship between the addressee and the addressant, the communicative situation, the method and purpose of communication, the tone of communication, etc.). The author gives examples of various speech scenarios in Chinese communication, analyzes the tendency to euphemizing speech in Chinese etiquette formulas, and concludes that a comparative analysis of speech etiquette in modern Russian and Chinese helps to increase cultural awareness in the use of language and understanding that the peculiarities of speech interaction of the communicants require attention not only to the linguistic structures themselves, but also to the specifics of speech behavior and the associated pragmatics of communication.

Abstract:The research focuses on the study of the dynamics of etiquette norms in the innovative communicative space. The paper considers the factors which may condition changes in etiquette norms and stimulate formation of new norms and rules. The contribution explains the importance of taking into account theoretical foundations of etiquette studies while considering innovative norms, and lays special emphasis on comparison of traditional and innovative norms. The article reveals the role of socio-cultural context in the process of implementation of etiquette norms, and outlines the factors which determine the variability of their functioning. The study highlights specific features of innovative etiquette norms: the focus of attention is on etiquette norms regulating behaviour in the online communicative environment – with special reference to business interaction, in particular, business interaction in the format of zoom conferences. The paper suggests classification of innovation norms, outlines etiquette gaps and ways of their elimination. The publication also explains the importance of practical valiability of the study, and accounts for the need in optimization of business etiquette training – with special reference to up-to-date conditions of professional interaction.

Abstract:<span>Networking within online communities is recognized as a new way of social interaction. The authors study Russian Internet communities that unite members of the same profession – professional social networks. In such communities, speech etiquette is formed under the influence of communicative values that are, in turn, formed under the influence of values that are determined by a particular profession. We search for a correlation between professional social networks' speech etiquette features and the profession of their members, and raise the questions: What communication goals are pursued by the users of the communities studied? What communicative situations form the professional social networks' speech etiquette? What are the communicative values of an online group for professionals? What kinds of professionals' speech activity may influence the formation of speech etiquette in professional social networks? Abstract:Different etiquette of software could trigger different attitudes and behaviors of users. This paper conducted a series of word-learning studies in which users either received polite feedback offering compliments and encouragements, or impolite feedback belittling users. Through the analysis on the results of e-learning experiment and post-test questionnaires, it was found that the polite feedback could yield better learning outcomes and greater improvement on satisfaction.

Abstract:In the article the authors consider the basics of teaching Ukrainian speech etiquette to foreign students. The authors analyze the differences between the use of etiquette formulas by Ukrainians and students from other countries. The study of Ukrainian etiquette formulas by students from Eastern countries in practical classes on Ukrainian as a foreign language is analyzed with the help of a textbook prepared by teachers of Ukrainian and Russian as foreign languages of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In this paper, we propose to consider the basics of teaching speech etiquette to foreign students of the reactive cultural group according to the classification of R. Lewis. This group includes Japanese, Chinese, Finns, Koreans, Vietnamese and others. Why this group? Because at the Institute of Philology of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, at the Department of Ukrainian and Russian as Foreign Languages, Ukrainian is studied mainly by Chinese citizens. Chinese students are extremely polite. They are careful in their speech, mostly silent and attentive. A teacher of the Ukrainian language in a group of Chinese students must understand that they will never refuse any job offered, they will demonstrate incredible diligence. But the teacher must always remember that these students should be formulated only one task, and after its completion, the second, third, etc. Of course, there are differences between the speech culture of Ukrainians and Chinese. Under the influence of Confucianism, Chinese society adheres to the social rule of "everyone has a class" and "the old is more respected than the young." The thematic classification of etiquette formulas in the textbook on the Ukrainian language for foreign students is substantiated, the factors and contexts according to which foreign students should learn to use Ukrainian etiquette formulas are described. The tasks with the help of which foreign students successfully master the Ukrainian language.

Abstract:Peculiarities of speech culture in international etiquette forms of business communication are investigated. Cultural activity in the theoretical and practical discourse of business etiquette is considered through the prism of the peculiarities of business culture. Paralanguage and prosody are analyzed as important components of cultural activities in the context of the specifics of international business etiquette, as well as the specifics of business communication according to S. Hall's theory of types of cultural context ("low-context cultures" and "high-context cultures"). Cultural activities in the context of international business etiquette involves not only strict adherence to established language norms and literary language, purposeful and casual use of certain linguistic means of expression in accordance with the purpose of communication, but also adaptation to the culture of communication. The content of cultural-language techniques in business etiquette, which includes the whole set of moral etiquette psychological and utilitarian norms is manifested in assessments that are directly integrated into the psychological plane of communication, in particular they reflect the levels of moral and psychological culture of interlocutors,regulate the procedural side of business communication. culture of the communication process in general. Ethical norms of cultural activities are a system of certain formal guidelines, within which the processes of business communication operate. It was found that the indicators of language culture in international business etiquette are: vocabulary, language composition, literacy, pronunciation and intonation, and important components of cultural activities in the context of the specifics of international business etiquette are paralanguage and prosody, which organically combine the unconscious and articulated in cultural activities.

The Communicative Norm in Russian Informal Verbal Communication: the Specificity of Child Speech

Abstract:The article is devoted to the analysis of the communicative norm and disorders in informal Russian verbal communication on the basis of children’s speech in conversations between children, children and parents, teenagers. Such parameters of communication as rules of speech behaviour for the convenience of the recipient and etiquette genres are considered based on a material of authentic children’s statements published on the Krasnoyarsk Internet forum “Krasmama” and in the modern Russian literature for children. The article also considers a mechanism of communicative errors. Communicative scenarios of compliance and violation of the rules of speech behaviour are reconstructed. Particular attention is paid to statements having the purpose to manipulate the recipient. As a result, it was found that unconscious violations of communicative norms and, in particular, the rules of speech behaviour in the interests of a listener are characteristic of children’s speech. The cause of errors may be the imitation of adult informal, reduced speech. On the other hand, following the communicative norm, namely observance of the rules of speech behaviour and the use of etiquette speech genres in child-parent communication leads to ambiguous results and may indicate a conscious intention of a child to influence or manipulate an adult. Etiquette statements coming out of a child’s mouth are markers of adult speech. In communication between children, and especially between adolescents, as shown by the analysis of texts of modern literature for children, inappropriate compliance with etiquette standards may signalize the author’s hidden goals that are still unknown to the addressee (influence, manipulation), or a communicative error

Abstract:The formation of a new social order also presupposes the formation of a new social culture — digital culture as a semantic and regulatory component of a network society. But so far there are no clearly formulated requirements for human behavior in the virtual space.In this connection, ambiguous situations arise between employers and subordinates. The study of the attitude to the norms of etiquette, which determines the value attitudes and standards for participants in network communications at all levels of interaction. The purpose of the work is to investigate the formation of ideas about the norms of business etiquette in a virtual environment in the process of business communications. The research was carried out by the method of a questionnaire survey on the territory of Kostroma, Perm and St. Petersburg. The study involved employees of companies representing various sectors of the economy and students of various fields of study studying the disciplines "Business etiquette" and "Business communications". The following was established: in general, everyone observes etiquette, including in the digital environment; many have a feeling of lack of confidence in the knowledge of the norms of digital etiquette; active use of social networks for business communications; company management should not monitor the behavior of their employees in the digital environment. The results of the study make it possible to understand the peculiarities of observance of etiquette in a digital environment, identify problems that arise during business communications in a virtual environment, and can also serve to develop psychological recommendations for the formation of effective methods.

Abstract:The culture of contemporaneity presents itself through various concepts and discourses that constitute the category of everyday life, which they reveal and portray. In linguistic terms, the category of everyday life is manifested in different forms of communication, and first of all in the system of norms and models of speech behavior, known as speech etiquette. The goal of the article is to analyze the use of some models of English speech etiquette, specifically the use of politeness forms typical of the English. Politeness strategy presents itself in various types, as absolute, relative, negative or positive politeness. The type of politeness presupposes a definite form of etiquette speech act. Politeness strategy is analyzed in speech acts of apologies and condolences, through their pragmatic structures.

Abstract:The article is devoted to the problems of intercultural communication in the field of speech etiquette. On the example of communicative failures of Russian and Iranian students, the differences in the etiquette models of Russian and Persian cultures are considered. The article reveals the main provisions of speech etiquette, the basic principles of the theory of Politeness, general and specific characteristics of polite communicative behavior, the features of speech etiquette in Persian linguistic culture and its differences from Russian linguistic culture. Special attention is paid to the “surprised person”, that is, a person who has fallen into a foreign cultural environment for him as an object of study of etiquette inconsistencies of speech etiquette compared systems. The analyzed material is a collection of real stories of ten Iranian students who got into awkward communication situations during their stay in Russia, and the stories of their friends who got into awkward situations in Iran. Abstract:This research focuses on the importance of etiquette speech as a key indicator of older preschoolers' readiness for school life in the new Ukrainian school. While many studies explore various aspects of preschoolers' readiness for school, inadequate attention has been given to the specifics of mastering etiquette speech by future first graders, the acquisition of effective linguistic units, and the identification of significant situations for etiquette speech development. The urgency of this research is underscored by its vital role in the moral and cultural education of the younger generation and successful adaptation to new socio-cultural priorities and challenges, making it pedagogically significant in the development of the new Ukrainian school. The study introduces novel approaches to the thesaurus, diagnosis, and tools for etiquette speech development in preschoolers. The article outlines key terminological categories, depicting their relationships through a diagram based on the degree of dependence. The essence and content of the key concept, "etiquette speech of preschoolers," are clarified, emphasizing that it primarily manifests respect. The research presents results from an experimental study on the features of etiquette speech development in older preschoolers. A development program is characterized, which is designed based on creating emotionally rich educational situations with specific goals. The program aims to instill etiquette speech skills, transferring knowledge on proper behavior into habitual and comfortable actions, leading to the automatic execution of socially acceptable behaviors. These skills serve as evidence of a certain cultural level of the individual and act as a prerequisite for effective interaction with others. Experimental situations, involving the identification and improvement of etiquette speech skills, the consolidation of etiquette formulas, and enhanced communication between participants, form the basis of the program. The authors demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, showing that, during the formative experiment (through conversation), the children achieved 100% understanding of politeness concepts and knowledge of related words.
