Abstract:Dance is one of the most popular art cultures in the world. The study investigates the transformative impact of dance education on the mental health of Chinese students, focusing on emotional regulation, cognitive function, and overall well-being. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, the research engages dance students from prominent academies in China, employing a carefully crafted questionnaire and interview process. The study reveals compelling findings, affirming the positive influence of dance education on reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, enhancing self-esteem and body image, and fostering emotional regulation skills. Drawing on a diverse sample of 342 participants, the study employs robust statistical analyses, including reliability tests, correlation analysis, and hypothesis testing, to substantiate its claims. The results not only support the hypotheses formulated but also showcase the multifaceted benefits of dance education, bridging stress management, community building, positive attitudes towards physical activity, improved cognitive abilities, and enhanced academic performance. The extensive data analysis incorporates both quantitative and qualitative dimensions, providing a clear understanding of the profound connections between dance education and mental health. The study contributes significantly to the existing literature by offering empirical evidence that underscores the pivotal role of dance education in cultivating holistic well-being among students. These findings bear important implications for educators, policymakers, and mental health professionals, advocating for the integration of dance education as a proactive strategy for fostering positive mental health outcomes in educational settings.
