Abstract:Water pollution resulting from organic dyes is a significant environmental challenge. It can pollute water bodies, posing severe risks to both the environment and human health. Adsorption is a widely employed and effective method for removing a diverse range of contaminants in water treatment processes. In this study, amine-functionalized MIL-101(Fe) composites are prepared by solvothermal method. The exceptional adsorption capacity and cycle stability of the amine-functionalized MIL-101(Fe) composites make them effective adsorbents for removing malachite green and methylene blue from wastewater. SEM, TEM, XRD, BET, FTIR, and VSM test the physical and chemical properties of SiO 2 @Fe 3 O 4 -SL@NH 2 -MIL-101(Fe). Studying the effects of various parameters on the adsorption process through batch experiments is a crucial step in understanding and optimizing the performance of adsorbent materials for the removal of contaminants such as malachite green (MG) and methylene blue (MB) from wastewater. The observation that the adsorption kinetics fits well with a pseudo-second-order model is significant and indicates that the adsorption procedure follows a second-order reaction mechanism. In the isothermal adsorption model, the adsorption isotherms of malachite green and methylene blue conformed to the Langmuir isotherm model, The results showed that the maximum adsorption capacity (qm) of SiO 2 @Fe 3 O 4 -SL@NH 2 -MIL-101(Fe) for MG and MB is 636.94 mg/g and 413.22 mg/g, respectively. In thermodynamic studies, the adsorption of MG and MB by SiO 2 @Fe 3 O 4 -SL@NH 2 -MIL-101(Fe) is a spontaneous process that increases with temperature. The composite's capacity to maintain its high removal efficiency over multiple cycles suggests its potential for practical and sustainable application in water treatment processes.
