Abstract:Arts-based research offers avenues for in-depth explorations into self and others. Poetic inquiry as a form of arts-based research provides a medium for attending to (post) reflexivity throughout the qualitative inquiry process. Within this article, I attempt to illustrate my messy, spontaneous, and generative engagement with (post) reflexivity during the crafting of my dissertation—a process that leads to the creation of what I call (post) reflexion poetry. (Post) reflexion poetry offers a disruptive, nonlinear approach to (post) reflexive engagement. I encourage scholars to open up and interrupt their understandings of what it means to be a (post) reflexive qualitative researcher.
