Abstract:This research project was implemented in the second cycle of basic education, and place of performance was to FDI Marco Tulio Fernandez (D headquarters, San Ignacio). The main objective was to determine the incidence of telling short stories in the development of oral expression in students of the educational institution in question. After completing the entrance to the school district Marco Tulio Fernandez (based D) in the first quarter of 2011, the lack of a teacher specializing in English was observed, as these classes were taught by a teacher who was trying to convey their knowledge of this foreign language through a primer with a purely lexical content. Because of this, students lacked a vision versus communicative language were taught, as had shortcomings in the development of their skills. That is why using the story as a teaching tool set to give way to a teaching-learning process more dynamic, communicative and meaningful. The implementation of these narratives, apart from defined above objective sought motivate students active participation and fruitful use of his young and unlimited imagination, to express their ideas or thoughts spontaneously, based on the story narrated by the teacher, which helped to generate affable communication processes. Similarly, reference to the importance of learning a foreign language English as today, as its influence in all areas of knowledge and life stages was made. To meet the stated purpose this teaching strategy focused on creating spaces for the construction of meaningful knowledge, in the same way he took the student as an active character in their learning and the teacher's role as a facilitator of knowledge, who designed the activities of each class in accordance with the incorporation of the concepts learned and energizing new communicative themes for the development of oral expression. field notes, audio recordings and planners class, which demonstrated the effectiveness of this proposal, part of the construction of knowledge and constant participation: Consequently, during the implementation of this research instruments to collect data such as were used of all subjects in the classroom. Therefore, the results obtained in this research project reflect significant progress in learning English in oral production; like the story seen as support and mediator of knowledge of the foreign language. Finally, there is an evolution in the interest of children stories, due to the use of gestures as a motivating strategy to consolidate the concepts studied in class; while light side is, the role of teachers and their training as an intermediary between what the child should learn and what the teacher wants to teach.
