Abstract:Lay Summary Young-of-the-year lake sturgeon living in waters of high alkalinity are susceptible to mortality when exposed to 3-trifluoromethyl-4-nitrophenol (TFM), a pesticide used to control invasive sea lamprey in the Great Lakes. This risk may be reduced, however, by delaying TFM treatments to late-summer/fall, when sturgeon are larger and accumulate TFM more slowly.
