Abstract:Today, organizations that wish to carry on the sustainable growing need a robust strategic performance measurement and evaluation system because of changing demands of consumers, reduced product life cycle, competitive and globalised markets. In this study, a new methodology is introduced and proposed for increasing the supplier selection and evaluation quality. The new approach considers both qualitative and quantitative variables in evaluating performance for selection of suppliers based on efficiency and effectiveness in one of the biggest car manufacturing factory in Turkey. This new methodology is realized in two steps. In the first stage, qualitative performance evaluation is performed by using fuzzy AHP (Analytical Hierarchical Process) in finding criteria weights and then fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) is utilized in finding the ranking of suppliers. So, qualitative variables are transformed into a quantitative variable for using in DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) methodology as an output called quality management system audit. In the second stage, DEA is performed with one dummy input and four output variables, namely, quality management system audit, warranty cost ratio, defect ratio, quality management. As a result, comparing with the present system applied by the car factory, the new method seems to be some advantages and superiorities for making the decision in buying the quality car luggage side part (panel) by selecting the suitable supplier(s) in an automotive factory of Turkey.

Abstract:Selecting the best supplier emerges as a crucial subject for all sectors to achieve long term collaborations in supply chains. This study object to select the most suitable supplier for a company engage in activities in the automotive supply industry. For this purpose, a five-stage Intuitionistic Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making (IFMCDM) model is conducted. Firstly, decision criteria are defined by literature research and expert group opinions. Secondly, the importance weights of these criteria are obtained by IF Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (IFDEMATEL). Followingly, the most suitable supplier is assessed by IF Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (IFTOPSIS). In the fourth stage, Sensitivity Analysis is utilized to analyze the effect of differentiation in criterion. Lastly, a comparative analysis is carried out. The results of the study has pointed that “Price” is the most important criterion in supplier selection and “Supplier 4” is the best alternative for this case. Main contribution of this study is to integrate IFDEMATEL-IFTOPSIS method for the first time in automotive supplier selection literature and propose a specific decision framework. In addition, proposed model is found robust and valid.

Abstract:The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a performance management tool that analyzes the relationship between tangible and intangible assets. Its ability to render business strategy visible has earned it the distinction of being a strategic management model. Sustainability has become an important part of daily and business life today. With the increasing importance given by stakeholders to environmental and social issues, companies find it necessary to evaluate sustainability activities in their performance evaluations. In order to meet this need, the Sustainability Balanced Scorecard (SBSC) emerged with the addition of a sustainability perspective or parameters to BSC. The number of academic studies pertaining to the application of BSC, which numerous companies and subjects to research have utilized, is inadequate. Due to its hierarchical structure and the necessity to evaluate numerous criteria, BSC is suitable for using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods. In this paper, an integrated approach consisting of SBSC, the Picture Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (PF-AHP), and the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method is proposed for the performance measurement of companies. The PF-AHP method has been reorganized for ease of application in determining the perspectives, strategic objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) weights within SBSC. Additionally, the OMAX method has been employed for calculating the performance scores. This proposed approach was implemented in a factory operating in the glass industry. The SBSC created for the company includes five perspectives, 16 strategic objectives, and 34 KPIs. PF-AHP method was used to determine the weights of perspectives, strategic objectives, and KPIs to be used in the performance score calculation with OMAX. The weight of financial perspective is 0.267, the weight of the customer perspective is 0.247, the weight of the internal process perspective is 0.191, the weight of the learning and development perspective is 0.161, and the weight of the sustainability perspective is 0.134. The evaluations made by the decision-makers indicate that the company's performance measurement still adheres to the traditional framework. The performance score of the company is 6.14 out of 10.

Abstract:Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the contributions of the balanced scorecard (BSC) methods to identify the relationship between the objectives and activities and examine how the BSC should be formed in a manufacturing company. The BSC framework was examined via a case study in a yarn manufacturing company. The activities to be carried out by the company to achieve its objectives and how the appropriate measures are determined in evaluating the contribution of the activities to the achievement of objectives are explained under the BSC approach. The BSC implementation and adaptation have facilitated in a family owned company because of its fast decision-making process. Objectives are made clear in accordance with the company’s strategy and causal relationship between objectives and activities are linked by the strategy map. The BSC implementation shows that financial measures are not enough to evaluate the effects of all the activities on the objectives in a company. The cooperation between departments in the company and the efficiency of corporation meetings increases. The meetings have become more result-oriented due to clarifying objectives and responsibility of individual levels.

Abstract:Purpose In 2016, the ISO/TS 16949 quality management standard for the automotive industry evolved to IATF 16949. The update brought new requirements that need to be analyzed before being implemented in organizations. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to propose guidelines to assist organizations in the automotive sector in the implementation of the elements added in the update to the IATF 16949 standard. Design/methodology/approach To fulfill this objective, the identification and analysis of the elements added in the evolution from ISO/TS 16949 to IATF 16949 was carried out, and four case studies were conducted in Brazilian automotive companies. Findings The main elements added to IATF 16949 with the update of the standard are the use of process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA) for risk analysis; the development of a communication channel for employees to report cases of misconduct and non-conformities; procedures for controlling repaired/reworked products and temporary changes; and the inclusion of autonomous maintenance for the full implementation of total productive maintenance (TPM). Originality/value The main practical implication/contribution of the research is the proposed guidelines, which can support managers and automotive companies that want to implement, or will go through, the IATF certification process. The article's originality lies in the combination of a theoretical framework and case study analyses to develop the guidelines.

Abstract:In today’s competitive business environment, service providers have a strong objective to satisfy the customers with low cost to ensure a patronage/loyalty. Performance measurement defines the information or feedback on actions to meeting strategic objectives and client satisfaction. Generally, performance evaluation of the service provider is a time consuming complicated process, depends customer satisfaction. Over the past two decades several researchers have proposed methods to measure service and quality performance in order to improve the performance efficiency of the organization, since there is a considerable room exists. Hence, in this paper, we analyse efficient and inefficient levels of service performance using data envelopment analysis (DEA) and balance scorecard (BSC) techniques, to bridge the exist gap. The DEA approach has been used to measure the performance of automobile dealers from different areas to know their service levels and also treats the quality of service by making use of different cross-efficiency data envelopment analysis models to discriminate the units. Then, a BSC approach analyzes which aspects of decision making units are inefficient, grounded on four perspectives like as; customers, financial, internal business process and learning and growth, based on the study carried out on ten automobile dealers from various areas. The results identify that dealers are inefficient in learning about customer’s growth, which help the dealers to transform from inefficient into efficient. In addition, this study also focused on various insights related to performance evaluation and provide some useful recommendations which can be practiced in future.

Abstract:Companies need to cooperate with reliable and high-performing suppliers of goods and services, and build mutual long-term relationships in order to sustain their existence and increase their market share. An engineering manager can determine the most effective strategy in supplier selection by the proposed model, which allows an integration of objective values and the uncertainty of human judgements. A two-stage integrated fuzzy analytic network process (FANP) and super-efficiency data envelopment analysis (DEA) model is proposed and applied to a wind turbine project of a company operating in the renewable energy sector. At the first stage of the methodology, the weights of the qualitative criteria were determined by using FANP. At the second stage, the qualitative supplier selection criteria that were converted into quantitative criteria with FANP were used as outputs; and cost (which was already a quantitative criterion) was used as an input in the DEA, by way of which the performances of the suppliers were assessed. This study, which includes decision-making, performance management, and supply chain management issues, introduces a new approach, both in terms of the sector referred to and the methodology that enables companies to select the best suppliers by assessing both qualitative and quantitative factors.

Abstract:Background: Performance evaluation has become an essential tool for managers in the banking sector, which is undergoing frequent and rapid changes. It allows banks to maintain a high level of returns and reach their targets while staying competitive. In this context, sustainable performance management has emerged as essential for the banking sector. Indeed, the sustainable management of performance, while increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of organizations, also ensures sustainable measurement based on balanced scorecard practices. Purpose: This study aims to examine the assessment of internal indicators on the balanced scorecard of sustainability in the banking system in North Cyprus, which is one of the sustainable performance evaluation methods. Moreover, it aims to evaluate and reveal the effects of innovation performance, organizational culture, intrapreneurship, and the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting information system on overall business performance in terms of the performance scorecard to achieve sustainable balanced scorecard systems. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study (BSC), which focuses on the banking industry in North Cyprus, was motivated by the recent and limited usage of a balanced scorecard. The questionnaire was used to gather data from 350 employees and managers of 21 banks in North Cyprus. Analyses of the collected data were conducted using structural equation modeling (SEM, AMOS 25). Findings: The findings of the research established that organizational culture, intrapreneurship, and accounting information system effectiveness have positive effects on a balanced scorecard and its sub-dimensions. Innovation performance does not affect the balanced scorecard and its sub-dimensions. Originality/Value: In identifying the advantages and contributions in BSC introduction and implementation, the study contributes to the current state of knowledge, enabling organizations which intend to use this tool to adopt it and develop it. This study takes organizations' culture, innovation and intrapreneurship performance, and development on accounting and information systems into consideration in relation to the implementation process of BSC.

Abstract:The turbulent and complex business environment demands that an organization keeps updating its business travel map; take a strategic step that focuses the capabilities and commitment of all personnel to realize the organization's ideal future. Innovative companies use a balanced scorecard as a strategic management system that manages corporate strategy on a continuous basis. The Strategy Model using balanced scorecard on the company's electrical distributor is a strategic and operational business plan that is developed through the following steps: 1) description of vision and mission becomes the goal; 2) description of objectives into strategic advice; 3) Strategic description becomes a strategic initiative to achieve strategic objectives; 4) description of strategic initiatives into a program; and 5) a description into the budget program. The goal to be achieved in this research is to know the performance on the company's electrical distributor in improving profitability. The Balanced Scorecard analysis in the firm found that the financial perspective score 5, the Customer Perspective 3.08, the Internal Business Process Perspective of 3.04, and the Learning and Growth Perspective 2.7. Based on the results of the company score then determine the strategy to increase sales volume by increasing customer satisfaction through quality products with competitive prices, and increase the number of stock items. Optimizing the profit earned, so as to increase the company's ability to return capital to shareholders, by limiting the cost to the owner's personal needs.

Abstract:Abstract This research begins by determining and validating indicators (KPIs) that will be used to measure performance in the company’s supply chain, and making questionnaires to compare priorities between indicators and also each attribute and process at each SCOR level. This study has five general processes of supply chain. Each process is further divided into several attributes that are included at level two within the SCOR framework, namely reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, cost, and assets. Furthermore, each of these attributes has a total of 49 performance indicator indicators. The next step is to validate and ensure each indicator can be measured in research by holding discussions with the company. This paper aims to obtain the value of the company's supply chain performance to determine the supply chain performance improvement strategy of PT. X so that the performance of the company's supply chain can improve.

Abstract:Improving productivity, like other components, is one of the main organizational requirements. This study presents a quality management cycle to assess the dealership of one of the Internet service providers in Kerman province during the second half of 2015 and the first half of 2016. We initially planned and implemented a quality management system. After the first six months, in order to control Processes performed based on Scheduled planning, the efficiency of the dealers with the data envelopment analysis technique was calculated. With Malmquist index, the degree of improvement in the efficiency of the dealers was determined. In the following, as for the new risk-taking topic in the 2015 version of the quality management system, risk rating of dealers was calculated with Failure Mode Effects Analysis. In this research, using the risk-based numbering system, the priority number of the risk was compared with the determined risk number, and the unacceptable risks were specified. Finally, the results of the research were presented.

Abstract:The strategic scorecard represents a major element of an enterprise's management system, which contributes to improving the key areas of operation, as well as precisely defining operational goals, metrics and tasks within the strategical framework. Increasing competitiveness, as well as progressive globalisation of the Transport, Shipping and Logistics (TSL) services market, requires constant adaptation to change from managers. It is, therefore, appropriate to use the strategic scorecard as it can be applied for continuous monitoring of progress in the implementation of strategy and, if necessary, for enhancing actions and the measurement system. The authors analysed a transport company operating in the Podkarpackie Voivodship, with the implementation of the strategic scorecard. The purpose of this article was to create a strategic scorecard for the transport company in the context of streamlining transport processes, while simultaneously improving the quality of customer service, translating into maximising financial results.

Abstract:In addition to retaining high levels of customer satisfaction, sustainability of businesses is also heavily reliant on the efficiency of their internal and external processes. Continuous performance evaluations using key performance metrics to leverage operations are essential in maintaining a sustainable business while achieving growth objectives for revenue and profitability. Traditionally, companies have considered various financial criteria, quality characteristics, and targeted levels of service as their primary factors for performance evaluation. However, increasing environmental and social awareness and accompanying governmental legislations are now requiring companies to integrate these two aspects into their performance evaluations. With this motivation, this study proposes a Balanced Scorecard (BSC)-based approach combining Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) methodologies for performance evaluation. The grey system theory has been utilized in order to capture the vagueness and the uncertainty in decision making. To demonstrate the functionality of the approach, a case study is conducted on a U.S.-based food franchise. The results of the algorithm and a discussion elaborating on the findings are provided.

Abstract:AbstractThe Balanced Scorecard introduces solutions to the problems that arise from the failures encountered in strategic management, and the inadequacy of traditional performance management systems that lag behind in the information age, especially, with respect to today’s intensely competitive environment to which enterprises are increasingly exposed. In this study, the performance of 7 factoring and financial leasing firms listed at the Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST) were evaluated using the Balanced Scorecard approach under 4 main criteria. Pythagorean fuzzy sets are considered as a better way to represent expert-judgments under inconsistent and indeterminate environment. After that, the TODIM methodology, which analyzes decision makers’ psychological behaviors under risk, was used to rank the firms. While the economic loyalty sub-criterion was found as the most important one, learning and growth came out as the least important one after applying interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy AHP. Finally, factoring and financial leasing firms were ranked according to decision makers under the balanced scorecard performance criteria and followed by a sensitivity analysis.

Abstract:Purpose: This study aims to determine the performance of a company by comparing the targets and company achievements to produce the final score of the balanced scorecard achieved. Theoretical framework: This study discusses several theoretical frameworks which include Target Achievement, Company Performance and Balanced Scorecard theory along with company key performance indicators Design/methodology/approach: This research is a descriptive study with quantitative and qualitative approaches using the calculation through the balanced scorecard concept for each key performance indicator in the four balanced scorecard business perspectives by comparing the targets and their achievements to produce the final score of the balanced scorecard achieved by the company. Findings: The results of this study indicate that (1) The balanced scorecard achievement at Company A in 2020 is 4.15. This value indicates that the target achievement achieved by the company is slightly higher than the predetermined target. (2) Key Performance Indicators (KPI) determined by Company A in 2020 are (a) Financial perspective consisting of Profitability index, Return on Capital Employed, Return on Investment, Current Ratio reaching a cumulative Balanced Scorecard score of 1, 58. (b) Customer Perspective which is carried out by analyzing customer satisfaction which consists of physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and care to achieve a BSC cumulative score of 1.00. (c) Internal Business Process Perspective which consists of the innovation ratio and the compliance level ratio reaching the BSC cumulative score of 0.70. (d) Growth and learning perspective consisting of employee satisfaction, the number of employees attending education and training, education and training costs, the implementation time of 0.87. Research, Practical & Social implications: The results are useful for decision makers in finance companies and other organizations on work culture in Indonesia because they show that the proposed practices have an important impact on organizational excellence. Originality/value: The value of this study stems from its handling of one of the important sectors, namely the financial industry sector in companies, because this sector is considered the most important and effective in the process of corporate economic development.

Thirdly, based on the balanced scorecard, the index system of performance evaluation is established from four dimensions. Finally, put forward targeted implementation suggestions. Abstract:PT XYZ is a private company engaged in freight forwarding services in Surabaya - Waingapu. In its journey, the company experienced many challenges, which continuously improved its performance management, starting from financial issues, customers, internal business processes, and learning and growth. This study aims to determine the level of company performance and provide recommendations for improvements to the Key Performance Indicator below the target. The method used is the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) supported by the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The study results show that PT XYZ's company performance score in 2020 produced a score weight of 2.88 which is included in the good category. In contrast, in 2021, the company's performance made a weighted score of 2.78 which is included in the good category, and 2022, the company's performance had a weighted score of 2.26 which is included in the sufficient category. Internal Business Processes are the focus of improvement because the achievement score still needs to catch up to the target to improve PT XYZ's performance.
