Abstract:Pigs are the most promising models for the study of wound healing and hypertrophic scarring because they are anatomically and physiologically similar to human beings. The Red Duroc pig and Mini Bama pig are two swine models that have attracted a lot of attention. The aim of the present study was to examine and compare the scarring process in a red Duroc pig and a Mini Bama pig, providing knowledge for researchers and clinicians to enable them to choose the most suitable pig model for studies.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to compare the differences between Red Duroc pigs and Guangxi Mini Bama pigs in the process of hypertrophic scarring. The research aims to provide knowledge for researchers and clinicians so that they can select the most appropriate pig model for research. Specifically, the paper focuses on the following points: 1. **Healing speed**: Compare the differences in wound healing speed between the two pig models, especially the recovery of the epidermal layer during scar formation. 2. **Scar appearance**: Observe the clinical manifestations of the two pig models after scar formation, including pigmentation, shape changes, etc. 3. **Histological features**: Analyze the histological changes of the two pig models during scar formation through histological staining (such as H&E staining, Masson's trichrome staining and type I collagen immunohistochemical staining), especially the changes in epidermal thickness and collagen deposition. Through these comparisons, the research hopes to reveal the similarities and differences between the two pig models in the process of hypertrophic scar formation, thus providing references for future research and clinical applications.
