Abstract:The applications of hierarchically porous metal–organic frameworks (HP-MOFs) against traditional microporous counterparts for oxidative desulfurization (ODS) have triggered wide research interests due to their highly exposed accessible active sites and fast mass transfer of substrate molecules, particularly for the large-sized refractory sulfur compounds. Herein, a series of hierarchically porous amino-functionalized Zr-MOFs (HP-UiO-66-NH 2 -X) network with controllable mesopore sizes (3.5–9.2 nm) were firstly prepared through a template-free method, which were further utilized as anchoring support to bind the active phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) via the strong host–guest interaction to catalyze the ODS reaction. Benefitting from the hierarchically porous structure, accessible active sites and the strong host–guest interaction, the resultant PMA/HP-UiO-66-NH 2 -X exhibited excellent ODS performance, of which, the PMA/HP-UiO-66-NH 2 -9 with an appropriate mesopore size (4.0 nm) showed the highest catalytic activity, achieving a 99.9% removal of dibenzothiophene (DBT) within 60 min at 50 °C, far exceeding the microporous sample and PMA/HP-UiO-66. Furthermore, the scavenger experiments confirmed that •OH radical was the main reactive species and the density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that electron transfer (from amino group to PMA) made PMA react more easily with oxidant, thereby generating more •OH radical to promote the ODS reaction. Finally, from the industrial point of view, the powdered MOF nanoparticles (NPs) were in situ grown on the carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) substrates and shaped into monolithic MOF-based catalysts, which still exhibited satisfying ODS performance in the case of model real fuel with good reusability, indicating its potential industrial application prospect.

Abstract:Electronic structure of catalysts is of great importance in redox reactions. Virtually, fabricating Mo-based heterojunction nanocomposites and elucidating their role in the nature of synergic effect between Mo compounds hold the key to promoting the electron transfer and eventually improving oxidative desulfurization (ODS) performances. Herein, the molybdenum dioxide/molybdenum carbides (MoO 2 /Mo x C) heterojunction was in situ dispersedly immobilized on a rodlike N-doped carbon (NC)-coated zirconia (ZrO 2 ) via a facile annealing route employing phosphomolybdic acid (PMo 12 )-loaded Zr(IV) porphyrinic metal–organic framework (MOF-545) (i.e. PMo 12 @MOF-545) as a precursor. The optimized catalyst (MoO 2 /Mo x C@NC@ZrO 2 ) exhibits outstanding oxidative desulfurization (ODS) activities for fuel oil with sulfur content in a wide range of 200~4000 ppm. It is indicated that the extraordinary ODS activity of MoO 2 /Mo x C@NC@ZrO 2 significantly stems from the accelerated electron transfer by the MoO 2 /Mo x C heterojunction, the strong electron-donating effect of NC layer, and abundant active sites from the extremely dispersed Mo compounds realized by both NC and ZrO 2 . The ODS reaction is elucidated by the •OH radical mechanism. Moreover, MoO 2 /Mo x C@NC@ZrO 2 shows excellent stability, and the sulfur removal could remain over 96.5 % after thirteen cycles. This work not only opens up a new avenue for in situ integrating Mo-based heterojunctions, but also manifests a promising potential for practical ODS process.

Abstract:An in situ solvent‐free approach is conducted for synchronously implanting Pd single sites (PdSS) and nanoparticles (PdNP) into a novel Zr‐based metal–organic framework. The optimal catalyst exhibits ultrahigh oxidative desulfurization (ODS) performance that can oxidize 1 000 ppm sulfur at 40 °C within 5 min. A substantial synergistic effect between PdSS and PdNP is responsible for the upgradation of ODS performance. Desulfurization is a significant approach to producing clean fuel. The design of novel host–guest catalysts with multiple active sites at atomic‐ and nano‐scales, opens a new door to gain an ultrahigh synergistic performance for targeted applications. Herein, an in situ solvent‐free approach is conducted for synchronously implanting Pd single sites (PdSS) and nanoparticles (PdNP) into a novel Zr‐based metal–organic framework (Zr‐MOF). The optimal catalyst exhibits ultrahigh oxidative desulfurization (ODS) performance that can oxidize 1 000 ppm sulfur with diluted oxidant at 40 °C within 5 min. The turnover frequency of the catalyst at 40 °C reaches 774.7 h−1 which is 47.4 times higher than host Zr‐MOF and surpasses the most reported ODS catalysts. A substantial synergistic effect between PdSS and PdNP is responsible for the upgradation of ODS performance. Experimental and theoretical results indicate that PdSS in Zr‐MOF can readily absorb H2O2, and synergistically decompose H2O2 with the assistance of PdNP for accelerated generation of •OH radicals that dominates the ODS performance. This work provides a new solvent‐free way for in situ implanting synergistic catalytic sites into MOFs to upgrade their catalytic performance in targeted reactions.

Abstract:Oxidative desulfurization (ODS) is a promising technique for obtaining clean fuel. Designing and researching zirconium-based metal–organic frameworks (Zr-MOFs) with bimetallic catalytic sites are encouraging for its further development. In this study, Cu(Ⅰ)-MOF-808 was successfully synthesized through anchoring Cu+ in MOF-808. Pyridine infrared spectrum (Py-IR) and NH3 temperature programmed desorption (NH3-TPD) confirmed that Lewis (L) acid sites existed in the synthesized material. Cu(Ⅰ)-MOF-808 was applied into the ODS reaction, during the reaction process, L acid sites adsorbed sulfide, Cu+ sustainably provided electron to H2O2 to formed into •OH, with the synergistic effect of L acid sites and Cu+, 99.9 % of the dibenzothiophene was oxidated to dibenzothiophene sulfone in 120 min. In addition, the cyclic experiment indicated that the ODS performance of Cu(Ⅰ)-MOF-808 was maintained at 99.2 % after 12 times recycling. Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) spectra indicated the framework structure of the reused catalyst was stable, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) result displayed no metal ions (Zr, Cu) leaching after the ODS reaction, which also proved the catalytic stability of the Cu(Ⅰ)-MOF-808.

Abstract:Oxidative desulfurization (ODS) emerges as a critical player in enhancing efficient fuel desulfurization and promoting sustainable clean energy. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) show great potential as ODS catalysts because of their exceptional porosity and versatility. This study explores the use of amorphous metal-organic frameworks (aMOFs), which combine MOFs' structural advantages with unique properties of amorphous materials, to enhance catalytic efficiency in ODS. Traditional methods for synthesizing MOFs rely on solvent-thermal or solvent-free methods, each with limitations in environmental impact or scalability. To address this, we introduce a novel strategy utilizing a small quantity of benzoic acid (BA) modifier to facilitate the solvent-free, one-pot, mechanical synthesis of amorphous zirconium terephthalate (GU-2BA-3h). The resulting GU-2BA-3h demonstrates exceptional ODS performance, efficiently removing 1000 ppm of dibenzothiophene (DBT) in just 6 min at 60 °C. Amorphous GU-2BA-3h features an expanded external surface area, increased acidic sites, and exceptional stability, resulting in a high turnover frequency (19.6 h-1) and outstanding catalytic activity (53.2 mmol g-1 h-1), establishing it as a highly efficient ODS catalyst. This remarkable performance arises from the formation of dangling carboxyl groups and active metal sites due to the competitive coordination of benzoic acid with the linker. Experimental evidence confirms that these carboxyl groups and exposed Zr-OH sites interact with oxidants, generating hydroxyl radicals that effectively eliminate sulfur-containing compounds. Furthermore, the methodology exhibits universality in constructing amorphous Zr-based MOFs, and provides an eco-friendly, cost-effective route for efficient ODS catalyst production.

Abstract:Oxidative desulfurization (ODS), as a novel desulfurization technique of fuel oil, possesses high desulfurization efficiency for aromatic sulfide and low cost, making it a promising approach. The key to the technology lies in the rational design of catalysts with high activity and stability. Polyoxometalates, which are environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and abundantly available, face constraints in the development of ODS applications due to their low specific surface area and difficulty in regeneration. Introducing metal oxides into carriers with large specific surface areas to obtain heterogeneous catalysts is an effective solution to this problem. Beta zeolites, with regular three-dimensional channel systems, large specific surface area, and superior thermal/hydrothermal stability, are usually used as carriers. In this work, we developed a strategy to enhance zeolite carrier utilization efficiency by introducing Ta5+ species into the rigid framework of zeolites containing confined MoO3. The Ta species in the zeolite framework and the confined MoO3 produce a synergistic effect, exhibiting extremely high catalytic activity for the aerobic oxidative desulfurization of various organic aromatic sulfur compounds under mild conditions (90 °C and atmospheric pressure) in a deep eutectic solvent, surpassing common heterogeneous catalysts for oxidative desulfurization. Moreover, it can resist the adverse effects of interferents, such as naphthalene and indole. Additionally, the confined nature of Beta zeolite endows it with exceptional stability, demonstrating distinctive recyclability.
High-entropy zeolitic imidazolate framework for efficient oxidative desulfurization of diesel fuel: Towards complete sulfur removal and valuable sulfone production

Abstract:Diesel fuel contains a significant amount of aromatic sulfur compounds, which are pollutants and conventionally subjected to hydrodesulfurization to generate low-value hydrogen sulfide for removal. However, these aromatic sulfur compounds possess high economic value and exhibit crucial applications. In this study, we successfully synthesized a high-entropy zeolitic imidazolate framework (HE-ZIF) with a high specific surface area and exposed active sites via a mechanochemistry-assisted strategy. The utilization of HE-ZIF in an oxidative desulfurization system (ODS) with oxygen (O2) allows for the direct catalytic oxidation of sulfides, including dibenzothiophene (DBT) in diesel fuel. This process yields DBT to dibenzothiophene sulfone (DBTO2), a highly valuable product for achieving deep desulfurization. Additionally, the application of HE-ZIF achieves complete sulfur removal, reaching a 100% removal efficiency. Furthermore, it facilitates the recycling of high-value products, thereby enhancing the overall sustainability of the process. The investigation reveals that the synergistic effect between metals plays a crucial role in enhancing ODS performance. Furthermore, the microporous structure of HE-ZIF facilitates effective contact between the O2 oxidant and active sites. The presence of multiple metal active sites, abundant oxygen vacancies, and the microporous nature of the HE-ZIF material contribute to its ultra-high catalytic activity, thus opening new avenues for developing highly active catalysts for ODS and other catalytic reactions.

Abstract:In this work, the highly active peroxomolybdate TBA3{PO4[MoO(O2)2]4}·3H2O (abbreviated as PMo4) was incorporate for the first time in various MOF porous support structures (MIL-101, MOF-808 and ZIF-8) to form heterogeneous catalysts with different structural properties. These catalysts were used to treat a multicomponent model diesel via oxidative desulfurization process. Sulfur-free diesel could be obtained after only 2 h depending to the porous MOF structural morphology. The size of the window entrance and the dimension of the pore from MOF support showed to have a remarkable influence in the catalytic performance of PMo4@MOF catalysts, conditioning reactants diffusion. The PMo4@MIL-101 revealed the highest catalytic efficiency (100% after 2 h), followed by the PMo4@MOF-808 (73.1% at 2 h) and the PMo4@ZIF-8 (68.1% at 2 h). The most active catalyst PMo4@MIL-101 further showed remarkable recycle capacity and structural stability (maintaining the activity and stability for ten catalytic cycles). Appropriate window and pore size cavities from MIL-101 support showed to be the most suitable for the organosulfur oxidation. Smaller windows and pores sizes from the other MOFs caused a decrease of catalytic efficiency. The windows and porous dimensions from MOF based catalysts have a direct effect in catalyst performance, and these need to be adjust to reactants and active guest centers, to avoid leaching and allowing a fluent diffusion of reactants, mainly the ones with large molecular size.

Abstract:The strongly coupled core‐shell heterostructure catalyst composed of the crystalline molybdenum phosphide core and the amorphous tungsten oxide shell is developed for efficient and selective oxidation of thiophenic sulfides in fuels. The superior catalytic performance results from the interfacial permeation effect of tungsten atoms and the surface oxidation pathway based on direct electron transfer. Heterogeneous interfaces designed rationally in catalysts can induce geometrical, compositional, and electronic effects that can be applied to modulate catalytically active sites and consequently accelerate reaction kinetics. Here, a core‐shell heterostructure catalyst consisting of crystalline molybdenum phosphide (MoP) cores and amorphous tungsten oxide (WOx) shells on porous carbon nanosheets (PCN) is developed for oxidative desulfurization (ODS) of fuels. The strongly coupled core‐shell heterogeneous interface triggers a distinctive atomic permeation effect that induces substantial electron transfer from MoP to WOx and subsequent generation of electron‐rich W sites, consequently optimizing the adsorption of intermediates and substrates. The resulting catalyst (WOx@MoP/PCN) demonstrates a turnover frequency as high as 768.1 h−1 for ODS at 60 °C, exceeding that of almost all the state‐of‐the‐art ODS catalysts by 1–2 orders of magnitude. Moreover, a novel surface oxidation pathway based on direct electron transfer is identified in the WOx@MoP/PCN‐H2O2 system, which bypasses the formation of reactive oxygen species, consequently endowing the system with a moderate redox potential. Thus, WOx@MoP/PCN exhibits unprecedented selectivity, achieving 100% removal of thiophenic sulfides from real diesel with minimal consumption of oxidant.

Abstract:A functionalized modified metal-organic framework material of T-MOF-808 was synthesized through hydrophobic modification with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and chlorotrimethylsilane (TMCS). Then a supported oxidative desulfurization catalyst [C12Py]3(NH4)3Mo7O24/T-MOF-808(s) was prepared by using heteropoly acid ionic liquid as the active component. The prepared samples was characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, etc. [C12Py]3(NH4)3Mo7O24/T-MOF-808(s) was used in the oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene (DBT). At the same time, the effects of different loadings of active component, oxygen sulfur ratios, reaction temperatures, and reaction time were also investigated. [C12Py]3(NH4)3Mo7O24/T-MOF-808-15%(s) could oxidize 100% of DBT in 40 min at 60 oC. Significantly, the catalyst exhibited no discernible decline in catalytic activity after 14 runs. In addition, the efficiency of sulfur removal was 85.76% in actual diesel oil. It was found that the cooperative impact of hydrophobic modification and electron transfer makes an important contribution to the high activity. The hydrophobic modification provides a novel approach for using MOF materials in the oxidative desulfurization process.

Abstract:Transition-metal oxides (TMOs) are good catalyst candidates for oxidation desulfurization (ODS) reaction, and its excellent dispersion in carriers could exert great influence on its catalytic performance. However, improving its catalytic activity still remains challenging. Herein, the amorphous molybdenum oxide (MoO x ) was synthesized as the active sites for ODS reaction. Via a facile adsorption-pyrolysis approach, the amorphous MoO x was dispersedly immobilized onto N-doped carbon layer (NC)-encapsulated SiO 2 using zinc pyridine porphyrin (ZnTPyP) and phosphomolybdic acid (PMo 12 )-modified SiO 2 nanocomposites as precursor, obtaining the MoO x @NC@SiO 2 catalyst. Owing to the wonderful pre-dispersion of Mo sources on the precursor leaded by the electrostatic interaction and spacial effect, the confinement effect of the derived carbon matrix, and the strong Mo-N bonds, the growth of MoO x crystal could be inhibited in pyrolysis procedure, ensuring the amorphous structure and good dispersion of MoO x species on SiO 2 . The as-prepared MoO x @NC@SiO 2 exhibits excellent oxidation desulfurization (ODS) performances, and could promote the complete oxidation of DBT in model fuel into DBTO 2 at the theoretical O/S molar ratio of 2, due to the perfect activation of all oxygen atoms of H 2 O 2 by the amorphous MoO x . In addition, a plausible ODS mechanism over MoO x @NC@SiO 2 is depicted to be the •OH radicals. Moreover, MoO x @NC@SiO 2 still displays an outstanding reusability over at least 10 cycles owing to the encapsulation of NC layers and the strong Mo-N bonds. Therefore, this work provides a promising catalyst for industrial ODS application, and opens up a new avenue for developing the amorphous TMOs catalysts.

Abstract:A series of hybrid catalyst @ZSM-5-MCM-41 was prepared in which H3PMo6W6O40 were supported in the pore of micro/mesoporous materials ZSM-5-MCM-41 and HKUST-1 by one-pot method. Five types of ZSM-5-MCM-41 were prepared and corresponding ODS catalysts @ZSM-5-MCM-41 were synthesized. The prepared catalysts were characterized and the most efficient catalyst was selected by XRD, FT-IR, UV–vis, N2 adsorption-desorption, SEM, TEM. The removal of DBT reached 98.13 % by using @ZSM-5-MCM-41−2 under 60 °C with molecular oxygen as oxidant after 150 min. After desulfurization, the catalyst can be simply recovered and reused 7 times with an unnoticeable decrease in catalytic activity, indicating the successful combination of heteropolyacids and micro/mesoporous materials for desulfurization.

Abstract:Heterogeneous catalysts are usually constructed by immobilizing active species on appropriate supports. However, the dispersibility is difficult to precisely control. In this work, three representative Mo-based MOFs (Mo-MOFs) were constructed by assembling various organic linkers and MoO 3 , where the Mo atoms are homogeneously dispersed due to the coordination. The results illustrated that the obtained Mo-MOF-PI synthesized with 2-propyl imidazole as the ligands exhibited an extremely fast reaction rate, achieving 99.4% sulfur removal of DBT within only 12 min. Compared to other similar catalysts, Mo-MOF-PI showed much higher catalytic activity with a turnover frequency value of 19.2 h −1 . Moreover, it can be reused at least 20 times without a dramatic reduction in catalytic performance. Thus, the as-prepared Mo-MOF catalysts show great potential in large-scale industrial applications.

Abstract:Oxidative desulfurization is an appealing alternative technology to eliminate organic sulfides in fuel oil in response to environmental and economic requirements. The supported metal oxide catalysts generally encounter low catalytic activity and/or deactivation due to loss and sintering of metal oxide during the reaction or removal of carbon deposition at elevated temperature. In this work, Beta zeolite-fixed MoO3 (MoO3@Beta) was hydrothermally synthesized by structural reconstruction. Series of characterizations confirmed that MoO3 nanoparticles with ultrasmall crystal size of 1.5–2.5 nm were fixed into Beta zeolite. Owing to the small MoO3 particle size, MoO3@Beta material exhibited nearly three times higher catalytic activity, weight-based space-time-yield, and active site-based turnover frequency than impregnated MoO3/Beta sample with MoO3 in the extra-framework position during the process of oxidative desulfurization with the oxidant of H2O2. As for the oxidant of molecular O2, MoO3@Beta also possessed superior catalytic activity in deep eutectic solvent under mild reaction condition of 90 oC and ambient pressure, regardless of model oil and actual fuel oil. Besides, excellent reuse ability was observed for MoO3@Beta catalyst via the elimination of carbon deposition through a simple calcination, resulting from the unique feature to resist loss and sintering of MoO3 fixed in zeolite. More importantly, catalytic mechanism was revealed for this coupled reaction system. This work opens a new avenue for effectively synthesizing zeolite-fixed metal oxide and establishing green heterogeneous reaction system for catalytic oxidations.

Abstract:By designing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) doped with rare-earth elements, we can enhance catalytic activity and stability in a novel way. In the realm of oxidative desulfurization (ODS), polyoxometalate-ionic liquids have outstanding desulfurization performance. Herein, to create La-UiO-66 and Y-UiO-66, respectively, rare-earth elements (REs) of yttrium (Y) and lanthanum (La) were doped into the Zr-based metal-organic framework UiO-66. After that, the catalyst [C(12)mim](3)PW12O40/RE-UiO-66 was prepared by supporting a type of polyoxometalate-ionic liquid [C(12)mim](3)PW12O40 with a large specific surface area and stable structure on RE-UiO-66 (RE = La or Y). The catalyst was characterized and analyzed by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, and other methods. The ODS reaction of the dibenzothiophene model oil was conducted in the oxidative desulfurization experiment with H2O2 as the oxidant and [C(12)mim](3)PW12O40/RE-UiO-66 as the catalyst, and the ideal reaction conditions were determined. Under the optimum reaction conditions (T = 60 degrees C, O/S = 5), due to the strength of electron transfer over the catalysts, the DBT removal efficiencies of [C(12)mim](3)PW12O40/0.18La-UiO-66-25% and [C(12)mim](3)PW12O40/0.09Y-UiO-66-25% were 100% in 40 min and 97% in 60 min, respectively. The desulfurization efficiency was maintained at 91% after 13 cycles with [C(12)mim](3)PW12O40/0.18La-UiO-66-25% as a catalyst. In addition, a proposed reaction mechanism for the ODS reaction over this catalyst was presented.

Abstract:Due to the increasingly serious environmental problems caused by the combustion of sulfides in fuel, deep desulfurization of fuel became particularly urgent. Herein, the catalyst (PMA@MOF-808) of the Zr-based metal–organic framework (MOF-808) encapsulating phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) was prepared via a one-pot hydrothermal method. Besides, the formate ions of PMA@MOF-808 were removed by posttreatment with methanol, resulting in formate-free PMA@MOF-808-H catalysts with unsaturated open metal sites. The as-synthesized catalysts were systematically characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, BET, TGA, 1H NMR and XPS. The catalysts were also applied in catalytic oxidation desulfurization of fuel. The results indicated that the introduction of PMA and the removal of formate ions can improve the desulfurization performance of catalysts. Formate-free 0.2-PMA@MOF-808-H catalyst can reach 100% desulfurization rate for DBT. Besides, the kinetic properties were studied, and the apparent activation energy was 29.34 kJ/mol.Graphical abstract

Abstract:Aerobic oxidative desulfurization (AODS) represents a sustainable way to deeply desulfurize transportation fuels through a high-performance catalyst to convert thiophenes into sulfones in an efficient way. Here, we report that iron (Fe) intercalated molybdenum oxides (MoO x ) nanobelts can be a durable and robust catalyst for AODS, catalyzing the reaction efficiently at 80 °C with air as a sustainable oxygen source. By combining systematic characterization, kinetic analysis, and density functional theory calculation, we demonstrate that the guest Fe ions could precisely modulate the electronic structure of Mo sites, leading to a significant increase in surface oxygen vacancy density. An optimized doping amount enables our catalyst with excellent catalytic performance via thorough conversion of various sulfides. The catalyst maintained almost unchanged activity in repeated uses, qualifying it as a candidate for the sustainable AODS of fuel. We anticipate that the strategy demonstrated here will provide practical guidance on the rational design and optimization of Mo-based catalysts to promote aerobic oxidation reactions.

Abstract:A newly kind of spinosus loaded-heteropolyacid catalyst Fe3O4@MOF-PMoW (abbreviated as FeMP, M=Cr, Cu and Zr) has been obtained under one-pot method using the various magnetic MOF materials bases. Detailed characterizations have proved out the spinosus structure, with the stinging surface morphologies outside, which benefits for the excellent desulfurization performance to the larger contact area with sulfur compounds as much as possible. To be noted, the FeCrP catalyst shows the 100% DBT removal in 60 min, while only 97.0% and 91.6% for FeCuP and FeZrP, respectively. The phenomenon is mainly attributed to the larger BET contact area, leading to link more PMoW to react with DBT in oil. In particular, the FeCrP could be applied in ODS process even after 10 times without the obvious decrease in catalytic activity and the same highly desulfurization performance also has founded in real diesel, showing a better using value in actual industrial application.

Abstract:The desulfurization of fuels is a crucial step in the production of clean energy. The design of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with bimetallic active sites is a new way to achieve deep oxidative desulfurization (ODS). Traditional methods for synthesizing MOFs involve high temperatures and pressures, which can be hazardous. Oil bath heating provides a safer and more convenient way to synthesize catalysts at a slower heating rate with full uniform heating. In this work, a series of La-doped bimetallic PCN-777(La-Zr) catalysts were synthesized by heating in an oil bath. The microstructures of the catalysts were investigated using various techniques, such as XRD, FT-IR, Raman, BET, SEM, TEM, etc. Compared with PCN-777(H) synthesized by hydrothermal method, PCN-777(O) synthesized by oil-bath heating exhibits a higher specific surface area (2017.01 m 2 /g) and a more homogeneous pore size distribution. PCN-777(0.2La-Zr) demonstrated outstanding catalytic performance in ODS of dibenzothiophene (DBT), which could remove 100 % of DBT within 40 min at 60 °C and still exhibited high desulfurization efficiency after 12 cycles. The outstanding catalytic ability of PCN-777(0.2La-Zr) should be related to the synergistic effect of its homogeneous pore channels and unsaturated metal sites. The present study exhibits that bimetallic MOFs have possible application potential in the field of ODS, and offers a novel idea for promoting the catalytic ability of ODS by catalyst synthesis in an oil bath.
