Abstract:Based on a diazo-coupling process in an aqueous solution under mild conditions, we presented a template-free technique for synthesizing multiple-functionality magnetic porous organic polymers (MOPs) with rich sulfide and free phenolic hydroxyl groups. The resulting pure porous organic polymer (POP) exhibits a large Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) specific surface area of 268.6 m 2 g −1 , and MOPs have a surface area ranging from 179.91 m 2 g −1 to 211.8 m 2 g −1 . Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) indicate high thermal stability. Considering the advantages such as their porous nature and abundant adsorption sites, both MOP-F and MOP-H are highly capable of interacting with metal ions and cationic dyes, including methylene blue (MB). The polymers complexed with indium showed excellent catalytic performance for the synthesis of tetrazole derivatives. Moreover, the MOPs exhibited high adsorption capability for the cationic dye methylene blue with a maximum adsorption capacity of 1060 mg g −1 . Because of the superparamagnetic properties of the synthesized MOPs, they could be easily separated from the media. The collected MOPs could be reused for four more rounds without a significant decrease in adsorption capacity.

Abstract:Due to the unique microstructure and superior catalytic properties, organic-inorganic hybrid materials attract extensive attention. Herein, we report a facile coprecipitation method for the fabrication of metalloporphyrin-metal phosphate salt hybrid spheres, and the cycloaddition of carbon dioxide with epoxides is employed as probe reaction to evaluate the catalytic performance of our as-synthesized catalysts. The hybrid spheres composed of meso-tetra-(4-N-pyridyl) zinc porphyrin (ZnTPyP)-magnesium phosphate exhibited superior catalytic performance, and the conversion was much higher than that of individual ZnTPyP and magnesium phosphate, probably because of the acid-base synergistic effect. Meanwhile, the spheres showed excellent stability during the circulation experiments as well as compatibility with a wide scope of substrates. This work provides a valuable approach for the preparation of novel and efficient heterogeneous catalytic composites.

Abstract:In this work, we demonstrate that palladium-immobilized triazine dendrimer on magnetic nanoparticles in proper solvents, provides an impressive, atom-economical and compelling approach for the selective synthesis of 2,3-diphenylindole or pentaphenylpyrrole derivatives via annulation of diphenylacetylene with diverse anilines. Both the annulation methods were taken place under copper- and phosphine-free conditions with high yields at air atmosphere. Likewise, bis -indoles were obtained with excellent yields under optimized reaction conditions. Besides, the catalyst was isolated and reused for seven cycles without decrease potential of catalytic activity. Two mechanistic pathways were proposed and geometry optimizations, electronic properties as well as vibrational characterizations of all structures were performed with density functional theory (DFT). Also, the investigation of atomic basin properties of these molecular systems was carried out utilizing the quantum atoms-in-molecules theory (QTAIM). The results showed that 2,3-diphenylindole and pentaphenyl pyrrole molecular systems can be used as intramolecular acceptor/donor ( n -like/ p -like) sections.

Abstract:Herein, we have presented a new insight for the synthesis of a hybrid heterogeneous catalyst. For this purpose, phosphonic acid tagged carbon quantum dots of CQDs-N(CH2PO3H2)2 encapsulated and assembled in channels of SBA-15 using a post-modification strategy. The mesoporous catalyst of functionalized carbon quantum dots (CQDs) was characterized by several techniques. CQDs-N(CH2PO3H2)2/SBA-15 as an excellent catalyst was applied for the preparation of novel pyrazolo[4',3':5,6]pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives by using pyrazole, barbituric acid and indole moieties at 100 °C under the solvent-free condition. The present work shows that a significant increase in the catalytic activity can be achieved by a rational design of mesoporous SBA-15 modified with CQDs for the synthesis of biological active candidates. The synthesized compounds did not convert to their corresponding pyridines via an anomeric-based oxidation mechanism.
Synthesis, CO2 Adsorption and Catalytic Properties of Porphyrin-Pyromellitic Dianhydride Based Porous Polymers

Abstract:The synthesis, characterization and CO2 uptake tendency of a new porous organic polymer (POP) based on porphyrin-pyromellitic dianhyderide is enclosed. The reported porphyrin POP was achieved by exploiting the condensation reaction between tetraaminophenylporphyrin (TAPP) with benzenetetracarboxylic (pyromellitic) diahhydride in dry dimethylforamide (DMF). The structure of the resulting polymer was confirmed by FT-IR as well as solid state 13C cross-polarization magic angle spinning (CP/MAS) NMR studies. In addition, the post-synthetic metallation of the free-base porphyrin macrocycles of the resulting POP with either Zn or Mn metals afforded the metallo-porphyrin POP analogues in excellent yields. The morphology of the reported porphyrin POPs were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) which demonstrated the porosity of the resulting POPs. Furthermore, CO2 adsorption capabilities of the synthesized POPs were evaluated and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area was found to be 542, 597 and 828 m2/g for free-base, Zn- and MnIII-POP, respectively. Finally, MnIII-POP was found to be an effective catalyst for the selective epoxidation of styrene to the corresponding epoxide.

Abstract:In this study, preparation and characterization of a new magnetic propylsulfonic acid-anchored isocyanurate bridging periodic mesoporous organosilica (Iron oxide@PMO-ICS-PrSO3H) is described. The iron oxide@PMO-ICS-PrSO3H nanomaterials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy as well as thermogravimetric analysis, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms and vibrating sample magnetometer techniques. Indeed, the new obtained materials are the first example of the magnetic thermally stable isocyanurate-based mesoporous organosilica solid acid. Furthermore, the catalytic activity of the Iron oxide@PMO-ICS-PrSO3H nanomaterials, as a novel and highly efficient recoverable nanoreactor, was investigated for the sustainable heteroannulation synthesis of imidazopyrimidine derivatives through the Traube-Schwarz multicomponent reaction of 2-aminobenzoimidazole, C‒H acids and diverse aromatic aldehydes. The advantages of this green protocol are low catalyst loading, high to quantitative yields, short reaction times and the catalyst recyclability for at least four consecutive runs.

Abstract:Abstract This study introduces a practical approach to fabricate a novel hybrid acidic catalyst, namely sulfamic acid pyromellitic diamide-functionalized MCM-41 (MCM-41-APS-PMDA-NHSO 3 H). Various techniques such as FTIR, TGA, XRD, BET, FESEM, and EDX were used to confirm its structural characteristics. The efficiency of the new MCM-41-APS-PMDA-NHSO 3 H organosilica nanomaterials, as a heterogenous nanocatalyst, was examined in the synthesis of biologically active 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1 H )-one derivatives under solvent-free conditions. It was found that the nanoporous MCM-41-APS-PMDA-NHSO 3 H, demonstrating acidic nature and high surface area, can activate all the Biginelli reaction components to afford desired 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1 H )-ones under solvent-free conditions in short reaction time. Furthermore, easy and quick isolation of the new introduced hybrid organosilica from the reaction mixture as well as its reusability with negligible loss of activity in at least five consecutive runs are another advantages of this green protocol.

Abstract:Bimetallic organic frameworks (bimetallic-MOFs) are considered promising catalysts due to their tunable pores, strength, and high catalytic performance. Here, a bimetallic-MOF-based on iron (Fe) and cobalt (Co) metals was designed, synthesized and characterized. Next, the synthesized bimetallic-MOFs were post-modified with phenyl isocyanate to create urea moieties that are susceptible to hydrogen bonding (H-bond) catalytic activities. Various techniques such as SEM, XRD, BET/BJH, FT-IR, TGA/DTA, EDX and elemental-mapping were used to approve the structure of the synthesized catalyst. MIL-88B(Fe 2 /Co)-UR acts as an H-bond catalyst in the multi-component reaction to form pyrazolo[3,4- b ]quinolines via appropriate sections with medicinal properties. The features of using MIL-88B(Fe 2 /Co)-UR as an H-bond catalyst are increased efficiency, decreased reaction time and reusability of the catalyst.

Abstract:In this study, a novel functionalized metal–organic frameworks MIL-125(Ti)-N(CH 2 PO 3 H 2 ) 2 was designed and synthesized via post-modification methodology. Then, MIL-125(Ti)-N(CH 2 PO 3 H 2 ) 2 as a mesoporous catalyst was applied for the synthesis of a wide range of novel tetrahydropyrido[2,3- d ]pyrimidines as bioactive candidate compounds by one-pot condensation reaction of 3-(1-methyl-1 H -pyrrol-2-yl)-3-oxopropanenitrile, 6-amino-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1 H ,3 H )-dione and aromatic aldehydes at 100 °C under solvent-free condition. Interestingly, the preparation of tetrahydropyrido[2,3- d ]pyrimidine was achieved via vinylogous anomeric based oxidation mechanism with a high yield and short reaction time.

Abstract:A novel porous organic polymer-supported single-site nickel catalyst has been synthesized via the Friedel–Crafts reaction of 1,3,5-triphenyl benzene (TPB) with 4,6-dichloro-2-(1 H -pyrazol-1-yl)pyrimidine, and subsequent metalation. The as-prepared porous organic polymer pyrazolyl-pyrimidine skeleton POP-PP-Ni has a large surface area and exhibits excellent catalytic activity in the one-pot synthesis of poly-substituted pyrimidine derivatives by acceptorless dehydrogenation strategy under solvent-free condition. Meanwhile, it was proved that the well-defined and isolated coordination sites of the polymer can serve as a platform for immobilizing transition metal catalysts through single sites. Mechanistic explorations disclosed that this transformation undergoes three processes, involving acceptorless dehydrogenation, metal-mediated Michael reaction, and 1,5-electrocyclization. In particular, it was showed that no significant reduction was observed in the activity of POP-PP-Ni after eight runs.

Abstract:The immobilization of metal ions on inorganic supports has garnered significant attention due to its wide range of applications. These immobilized metal ions serve as catalysts for chemical reactions and as probes for studying biological processes. In this study, we successfully prepared Fe3O4@SiO2@Mn-complex by immobilizing manganese onto the surface of magnetic Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticles through a layer-by-layer assembly technique. The structure of these hybrid nanoparticles was characterized by various analytical techniques, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The Fe3O4@SiO2@Mn-complex was successfully utilized in the synthesis of biologically active 7-aryl[4,3 d]pyrido[1,2 a]pyrimidin-6(7H) one derivatives in an aqueous medium, providing an environmentally friendly condition. The desired products were manufactured in high yields (81-95%) without the formation of side products. The heterogeneity of the solid nanocatalyst was assessed using a hot filtration test that confirmed minimal manganese leaching during the reaction. This procedure offers numerous advantages, including short reaction times, the use of a green solvent, the ability to reuse the catalyst without a significant decrease in catalytic activity, and easy separation of the catalyst using an external magnet. Furthermore, this approach aligns with environmental compatibility and sustainability standards.

Abstract:In this study, we successfully synthesized and characterized a novel nano‐magnetic catalyst, Fe3O4@SiO2‐APA‐amide/imid‐NiCl2, which demonstrates significant potential for the efficient synthesis of 4H‐pyrimido[2,1‐b]benzothiazole derivatives under solvent‐free conditions. The catalyst exhibited remarkable catalytic activity, leading to high yields of the desired products while minimizing environmental impact and waste generation typically associated with conventional solvent‐based methods. This study presents the synthesis and characterization of a novel nano‐magnetic catalyst, Fe3O4@SiO2‐APA‐amide/imid‐NiCl2, designed for the efficient production of 4H‐pyrimido[2,1‐b]benzothiazole derivatives under environmentally friendly, solvent‐free conditions. The catalyst combines magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles with a silica shell and functionalized amide and imidazole groups, which enhance its catalytic activity and stability. By optimizing the reaction conditions, we achieved high yields of the target compounds while minimizing the environmental impact. The catalyst's magnetic properties facilitate easy separation and recovery, making it an attractive option for sustainable organic synthesis. The successful synthesis of the catalyst was confirmed through comprehensive characterization techniques, including X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results demonstrate that Fe3O4@SiO2‐APA‐amide/imid‐NiCl2 is a highly effective and reusable catalyst for the environmentally friendly synthesis of biologically relevant pyrimido[2,1‐b]benzothiazole derivatives, contributing to the advancement of green methodologies in organic chemistry.

Abstract:Sulfonic acid-functionalized poly(4-styrenesulfonic acid) mesoporous graphene oxide hybrid (PSSA-MGO) is prepared by polymerization of 4-styrenesulfonic acid on the surface of mesoporous graphene oxide. The catalyst is fully characterized by several methods including Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller adsorption–desorption analysis, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. PSSA-MGO is used as an efficient acidic catalyst for the one-pot preparation of some novel chromenopyridopyrimidine-dione derivatives via the three-component reaction of 4-aminocoumarin, thiobarbituric acid and aromatic aldehydes. All the obtained products were also characterized. This synthetic procedure presents some advantages including an eco-friendly procedure, high yield of the products and recyclability of the catalyst.

Abstract:Abstract Boehmite is a natural and environmentally friendly compound. Herein boehmite nanoparticles were primarily synthesized and, then, their surface were modified via 3-choloropropyltrimtoxysilane (CPTMS). Afterwards, a new samarium complex was stabilized on the surface of the modified boehmite nanoparticles (Sm-bis(PYT)@boehmite). The obtained nanoparticles were characterized using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (WDX), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern. Sm-bis(PYT)@boehmite was used as an environmentally friendly, efficient, and organic–inorganic hybrid nanocatalyst in the homoselective synthesis of tetrazoles in polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG-400) as a green solvent. Notably, Sm-bis(PYT)@boehmite is stable and has a heterogeneous nature. Thus, it can be reused for several runs without any re-activation.

Abstract:A sustainable, metal-free, and highly efficient protocol for the synthesis of dihydro indeno [1, 2-b] pyrrole derivatives via a tandem one-pot three-component reaction in aqueous medium at room temperature using an effective and reusable mesoporous heterogeneous organocatalyst, MPC@But-SO 3 H has been developed. MPC@But-SO 3 H was easily synthesized using a melamine-based covalent organic polymer and 1,4-butane sultone. The organocatalyst was well characterized by numerous spectroscopic techniques such as Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX), elemental mapping, and Thermal Gravimetric (TG) analyses. The catalyst displayed excellent catalytic potential, high thermochemical stability, and reusability for up to eight catalytic cycles. It offered the title compounds in excellent yields (˃90%) in a short reaction time (9-14 min). The synthesized compounds were characterized through FTIR, 1 H, and 13 C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and the molecular structure of 2-(benzylamino)-3a,8b-dihydroxy-1-methyl-3-nitro-3a,8b-dihydroindeno [1,2-b] pyrrol-4(1H)-one (4a) was confirmed by the Single Crystal XRD (SCXRD) analysis. The key features of the present protocol include the use of water as a green solvent, zero involvement of any metal, sustainable reaction conditions, easy catalyst recovery, and a simple work-up procedure. The calculations for green metrics parameters further supported the greenness and sustainability of the protocol.

Abstract:In this paper, by using multicomponent reaction, a new derivative of pyridopyrroloindole was synthesized in high yields and with antioxjdant activity. By using a multicomponent reaction involving isatins, diamines or aminoalcohols, activated acetylenic compounds, haloketones, and ammonium acetate in aqueous media in the presence of Cu@Fe3O4/SiO2@MWCNTs as new catalyst, the novel pyridopyrroloindole was produced in high yields. This catalyst was produced by employing Petasites hybridus rhizome water extract as a green media and moderate base. The pyridopyrroloindole derivatives were newly synthesized compounds, and their antioxidant properties were assessed using the 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical trapping and ferric reducing ability of plasma (FRAP) experiments. The pyridopyrroloindole 6b showed higher performance than butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and tert‐butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) better results. This method is used to make pyridopyrroloindole derivatives, and it has the advantages of a quick reaction, high yields, and the ability to separate the products easily.

A Simple and One-pot Synthesis of Tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans and Spirooxindoles Catalyzed by H-Fe3O4@DA-SO3H as an Efficient, Light and Reusable Nanocatalyst

Abstract:Aim and objective: One of the principles of green chemistry is using inexpensive reagents and catalysts to design green route for synthesis of organic compounds. Recently magnetic nanoparticles have provided a considerable merits. In this study, hollow Fe3O4@Dopamine-SO3H has been successfully applied for the green synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans and spirooxindoles via one-pot multi-component reaction. Materials and methods: Chemical reagents were purchased from Merck and Aldrich. Melting points were determined using an Electrothermal 9100. Fourier transform infrared and NMR spectra were recorded with a Shimadzu 8400 spectrometer and Bruker spectrometer, respectively. Results: The reaction between benzaldehyde, malononitrile and dimedone was selected as the model for synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran. The obtained results showed that the best amount of catalyst is 0.01 g and the reaction has occurred in solvent free condition at 70°C. The results showed that both electron-withdrawing and electron-donating substituents have an acceptable yield in the reaction. After that the scope of this method was evaluated in one-pot synthesis of spirooxindole derivatives through three-component reaction of isatin derivatives, malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate and 1,3-cycllic diketone. The optimum condition was 0.01 g catalyst using H2O under reflux condition. Then other derivatives produced in excellent yields during short reaction times. Conclusion: Tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran and spirooxindole derivatives in the presence of this catalyst were synthesized. The ease of preparation and handling of the catalyst and operational simplicity are some of the main advantages of this work. In addition, the catalyst could be recycled and reused at least six times without notable reduction in its catalytic activity.

Abstract:Abstract Recently magnetic nanocatalyst has attracted considerable attention because of its unique properties, including high performance, easy separation from the reaction mixture, and recyclability. In this study, a novel magnetic bionanocomposite was synthesized with chitosan and tannic acid as a natural material. The synthesized bionanocatalyst was characterized by essential analysis. Fe 3 O 4 @chitosan-tannic acid as a heterogeneous nanocatalyst was successfully applied to synthesize pyranopyrazole and its derivatives by a one-pot four-component reaction of malononitrile, ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, and various aromatic aldehyde. At the end of the reaction, the nanocatalyst was separated from the reaction mixture and was reused several times with no significant decrease in its catalytic performance. Simple purification of products, the ability for recovering and reusing the nanocatalyst, eco-friendliness, high yields of pure products, mild reaction conditions, short reaction time, non-toxicity, economically affordable are some of the advantages of using the fabricated nanocatalyst in the synthesis of pyranopyrazole.

Abstract:In the present study, magnetic nanocatalysts coated by carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and organic functional groups (Fe3O4@CQD@Si(OEt)(CH2)3@melamine@TC@Ni(NO3)) were prepared. To evaluate the efficiency of the catalyst in the organic synthesis, the preparation of 2-amino-3-cyanopyridine and pyranopyrazole derivatives was studied. The structure and magnetic properties of the catalysts were investigated by various analyses, including FT-IR, FESEM, TEM, XRD, EDX, EDX mapping, TGA and VSM. The results showed that the synthesized catalyst was very effective for the preparation of 2-amino-3-cyanopyridine and pyranopyrazole derivatives in solvent-free conditions. This nanocatalyst was easily separated from the reaction medium using an external magnet and used at least five times in a row under optimal reaction conditions with a slight reduction in the activity of the recycled catalyst. Producing products with good to excellent yields, the need for small amounts of catalysts, performing reactions in short times, the ability of the catalyst to recycle and not using toxic solvents in the synthesis of 2-amino-3-cyanopyridine and pyranopyrazole derivatives are the advantages of this green method. In order to optimize the reaction conditions, i.e., the effect of temperature and amount of catalyst, a systematic approach, namely design of experiment (DoE), was used.

Abstract:This paper presents the synthesis and application of a novel catalyst for carbon–carbon bond formations, comprising palladium immobilized on 2-(5-hydroxyquinolin-8-yl)-1 H -benzo[ d ]imidazole-5-carboxylic acid modified superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Pd@HQBI-SPION). The synthesis involved the attachment of HQBI ligands to SPION using APTES, followed by the immobilization of palladium. Characterization techniques, including FTIR, TEM, and magnetic measurements, confirmed the successful synthesis and structural integrity of Pd@HQBI-SPION. The catalytic activity of Pd@HQBI-SPION was evaluated in various carbon–carbon bond formation reactions, demonstrating high efficiency and reusability. 8 different derivatives bearing several electron withdrawing and electron donating functionalities were used as starting materials and the products were obtained in high isolated yields (75–97%). The catalyst exhibited excellent performance in one-pot synthesis of phenanthroline-dimedone polycyclic derivatives via C-alkylation followed by intramolecular O -alkylation of phenanthroline with dimedone. The products are obtained in high to excellent yields is described. This protocol presents a highly selective synthetic method for the construction of polycyclic aromatic compounds containing nitrogen and oxygen atoms.
