Abstract:Objectives. The aim of the paper is to explore the clinical efficacy and prognosis of the modified implantation of atrial septal defect (ASD) closure device to treat bronchopleural fistulas (BPFs). Methods. This paper has reviewed the results of 13 BPF patients implanted with a modified ASD closure device in Shaw Hospital Affiliated with the Medical College of Zhejiang University from October 2018 to November 2021. Anesthesia was selected based on the patient’s condition. Different sizes of ASD closures were selected based on the characteristics of fistulas. The modified implantation of the ASD closure device was applied to treat BPFs. The closure effects, closure time, and Borg score were observed at 4 weeks, 8 weeks, and 12 weeks after the surgery. Results. All 13 BPF patients were successfully implanted with the ASD closure device, and the immediate clinical remission rate was 100%. Follow-up at 4 weeks after the surgery showed that 2 cases were automatically discharged within a few days and 4 cases had closed fistula at 1 day after the surgery; follow-up at 8 weeks after the surgery showed that 1 case with fistula closure was observed at 55 days after the surgery; follow-up at 12 weeks after the surgery showed that 1 case with fistula closure was observed at 82 days after the surgery. T/P values (T = 7.90, 5.99, 7.44, P < 0.05 ) of paired t-tests before surgery and 4 weeks, 8 weeks, and 12 weeks after the surgery were rated by the Borg scale. The data were statistically different, and the clinical symptoms improved significantly. As of publication, the follow-up at 12 weeks after the surgery showed that the clinical remission rate was 9/11, namely, 81.8%, 3 of 11 cases had relieved clinical symptoms but still needed continuous drainage, and 2 cases had fistula closure. The median time of thoracic extubation was 63 (3,120) days. No patients died from surgical complications or BPF recurrence during the prognosis and the follow-up period. Conclusions. The modified implantation method has a high success rate and clinical remission rate, quick and early fistula closure, and simple and noninvasive operation, without the need for a dedicated delivery sheath and rigid endoscopy. Moreover, it has accurate positioning, reliable closure efficiency, and prognosis, and can be completed under local anesthesia. This reduces the operation time, difficulty, and risks of anesthesia.
Surgical repair of early bronchopleural fistula after pulmonary resection

Abstract:Objective Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a common but potentially lethal complication after pulmonary resection.Currently,there is still controversy over the appropriate management strategy for BPF,especially when pleural space contamination develops.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of surgical repair fistulas combined with pedicled muscle flaps coverage in patients with early BPF after pulmonary resection based on our experience with 23 cases.Methods The clinical data for 23 patients who underwent surgical repair of early BPF from January 1999 to December 2010 at our hospital were reviewed.Thirteen patients had undergone a prior pneumonectomy and 10 patients had undergone a prior lobectomy.BPF occurred from postoperative day 5 to40 (mean postoperative day 21 ).Nine patients had a contaminated pleural space.After BPF was clearly diagnosed,prompt closed pleural drainage was instituted,followed by surgical repair of BPF.Four patients underwent a direct suture repair of fistula,ten patients underwent stump revision and suture closure,seven patients underwent stump revision and bronchoplasty or carina plasty,and a pedicled muscle flap was sewn to the edges of the fistula in two patients.The stump was covered with various muscle flaps,including interostal muscle flap in five cases,latissimus dorsi muscle flap in ten cases,serratus anterior muscle flap in six cases,and erector spinae muscle flap in two cases.Postoperatively,the pleural space was routinely irrigated and drained.Results No intraoperative or early postoperative death occurred.Four patients developed severs complications,including respiratory failure in two cases,pulmonary embolism in one case,and empyema in one case.All four cases recovered well after treatment.The mean duration of hospitalization was 33 days (range 8 - 120 days ).Surgical repair of BPF was successful in 21 cases (91.3％) but failed for 2 patients..BPF recurrence developed in only one patient two years postoperatively due to stump recurrence.He died of extensive metastatic disease 2 years after BPF recurrence.Conclusion Excellent results can be achieved by early surgical repair combined with stump pedicled muscle flaps coverage in patients with BPF who can tolerate reoperation,even if they have a contaminaled pleural space.
Bronchopleural Fistula after Lobectomy for Lung Cancer: How to Manage This Life-Threatening Complication Using Both Old and Innovative Solutions

Abstract:Backgrounds: Our goal is to evaluate the correct management of broncho-pleural fistula (BPF) after lobectomy for lung cancer. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed our 25-years' experience and reported our strategies and our diagnostic algorithm for the management of post-lobectomy broncho-pleural fistula. Results: Five thousand one hundred and fifty (5150) patients underwent lobectomy for lung cancer in the period between 1998 and 2023. A total of 44 (0.85%) out of 5150 developed post-operative BPF. In 11 cases, BPF was solved by non-invasive treatment. In nine cases, direct surgical repair of the bronchial stump allowed BPF resolution. In 14 cases, a completion intervention was performed. In six cases, we performed open window thoracostomy (OWT) after lobectomy; in two cases, the BPF was closed by percutaneous injection of an n-butyl cyanoacrylate glue mixture. In two cases, no surgical procedure was performed because of the clinical status of the patient at the time of fistula developing. Thirty-day and ninety-day mortality from fistula onset was, respectively, 18.2% (eight patients) and 22.7% (ten patients). Thirty-day and ninety-day mortality after completion pneumonectomy (12 patients) was, respectively, 8.3% (one patient) and 16.6% (two patients). Conclusions: The correct management of BPF depends on various factors: timing of onset, size of the fistula, anatomic localization, and the general condition of the patient. In the case of failure of various initial therapeutic approaches, completion intervention or OWT could be considered.

Abstract:【Objective】Brochopleural fistula after lung resction is a fatal complication. The aim of this study was to analyse factors and managements for bronchoplueral fistula (BPF) after lung resection. 【Methods】65 patients who underwent lung resection at the Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital and Beijing Shijitan Hospital from June 1996 to July 2007 sufferred bronchoplueral fistula. They were 54 males and 11 females. Ages ranged from 30 to 75 years (median 53.76 years). Indication for resection was primary malignancy in 59 patients, pulmonary tuberculosis in 4 patients, destructive lung in 2 patients. 【Results】Of the 65 patients with bronchopleural fistula, 26 healed well who underwent the reoperation including closure of fistula by omental flap, muscle flap or limited thoracoplasty. 19 patients who were discharged from hospital with chest tube, of whom 7 had the second stage performed and the chest was left open, of whom 12 failed to follow-up. 6 of 65 patients with this complication died due to respiratory failure (mortality rate, 9.2%). 【Conclusions】A BPF is a life-threatening complication after lung resection. The key to treatment for a BPF is prevention. Prevention depends on meticulous intraoperative technique and the recognition of the risk factors.
Algorithm for the Bronchoscopic Diagnosis of Alveolar-Pleural Fistula

Abstract:Alveolar-pleural fistulas (APF) are a clinical entity that represents a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Objective: The objective of this work is to design a diagnostic algorithm for the anatomical detection of APF in patients who are not candidates for surgical treatment. Method: Prospective non-randomized study of 47 patients. Diagnostic procedures were performed: (a) prior to bronchoscopy: computed axial tomography (CT) and implantation of electronic pleural drainage system (EPD) and (b) endoscopic: endobronchial occlusion (EO) by balloon, selective endobronchial oxygen insufflation (OI) (2l) and selective bronchography (BS) (instillation of iodinated radiological contrast using continuous fluoroscopy). Results: The sample was predominantly male (81%). The diagnostic methods revealed: (a) Determination of the anatomical location of APF by CT in 15/46 patients (31.9% of sample), and variations in the pattern (intermittent or continuous air leak) and quantification after drug administration sedatives using EPD, (b) endoscopic: anatomical determination of APF was achieved in 57.1, 81 and 63.4% respectively using EO, OI and BS. The combination of the diagnostic tests allowed us to determine the anatomical location of the APF in 91.5% of the sample. No complications were recorded in 85.1% of cases. Conclusions: The diagnosis of APF by flexible bronchoscopy is a useful method, with an adequate safety and efficacy profile. The proposed diagnostic algorithm includes the use of EPD and performing a CT scan. Regarding endoscopic diagnosis: in case of continuous air leak, the first option is OE; and if the leak is intermittent, we recommend endobronchial OI, with BS as a secondary option (respective sensitivity 81% vs 63.4% and complications 8.1% vs 7.3%).

Abstract:The advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors has dramatically changed the treatment paradigm for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Due to the complexity and diversity of stage III disease, the inclusion of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in neoadjuvant treatment regimens is also required. However, immune-related adverse events (irAEs) limit the application of ICIs to a certain extent. Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a serious and fatal complication after pneumonectomy that is rarely reported, especially in patients who accept neoadjuvant immunotherapy or chemoimmunotherapy.

Risk Factor Comparison and Clinical Analysis of Early and Late Bronchopleural Fistula After Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Surgery

Abstract:Background. We retrospectively analyzed risk factors for late bronchopleural fistula after non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) surgery and compared with those for early bronchopleural fistula. Methods. In all, 6,239 patients with NSCLC who underwent surgery were studied, and clinical risk factors were examined by univariate and multivariate analysis. This study included 23 patients (0.38%) with late bronchopleural fistula and 43 patients (0.65%) with early bronchopleural fistula among all 6,239 patients. Follow-up data were recorded until December 2005 or until death. Statistical significance was calculated using the log rank test. Results. By univariate analysis, patients with radiotherapy after operation, pneumonia after operation, pneumonectomy, and advanced age were related to higher risk of bronchopleural fistula. In the multiple logistic regression models, both pneumonia and operative procedure were among the independent risk factors of early and late bronchopleural fistula. Early bronchopleural fistula was observed primarily in the aged. Late bronchopleural fistula was associated with postoperative radiotherapy. The average intervals of bronchopleural fistula between pneumonectomy and lobectomy were significantly different. Compared with the mortality rate of late bronchopleural fistula (0%), the mortality rate of early bronchopleural fistula (11.6%) was significantly higher. Conclusions. There are both similarities and differences between the risk factors for early and late bronchopleural fistula. We should analyze the different reasons for the occurrence of bronchopleural fistula, and adopt different preventive measures. Different follow-up should be provided for the different operations. Abstract:Background: Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a rare but severe complication following bronchoplasty. Identification of the risk factors for the development of BPF after bronchoplasty may contribute to better perioperative management, thereby further improving the prognosis of these patients. However, few studies have focused on the risk factors for BPF after bronchoplasty. This study aimed to explore the risk factors and outcomes for BPF after bronchoplasty in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods: The data of NSCLC patients who underwent bronchoplasty between September 2005 and August 2020 in our institution were retrospectively reviewed. Detailed information on demographic characteristics, preoperative assessment, perioperative outcomes were collected from Western China Lung Cancer Database. The diagnosis of BPF was confirmed by bronchoscopy. Risk factors for BPF were assessed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results: A total of 503 patients were included in this study, including 132 (26.2%) cases of broncho-vascular plasty, 340 (67.6%) cases of bronchial sleeve lobectomy, and 31 (6.2%) cases of bronchial wedge plasty. Among these patients, 16 (3.2%) developed postoperative BPF. Six patients with BPF died during hospital-stay, including two cases of severe hemoptysis, and four cases of pyothorax and respiratory failure caused by BPF. One of the other ten patients underwent reoperation. After univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis, preoperative Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) ≥2 [odds ratio (OR) =5.120, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.193-21.985, P=0.028], right middle and/or lower lobectomy (OR =4.840, 95% CI: 1.133-20.686, P=0.033), and residual tumor in the bronchial margin (OR =4.160, 95% CI: 1.106-15.644, P=0.035) were identified as independent risk factors for postoperative BPF.Conclusions: Although complication rate of BPF after bronchoplasty is low, the mortality of BPF is high. Patients with higher CCI, those who undergo right middle and/or lower lobectomy, and those with residual tumor in the bronchial margin are at increased risk of BPF. This study highlights the importance of preoperative evaluation and good intraoperative management to prevent this catastrophic complication.

Abstract:Prevention of bronchial complications after airway surgery must be our primary goal. Understanding bronchial and anastomotic healing is the first step to success. This can be improved by standardizing operating technique (bronchial closure and end-to-end anastomosis) as well as postoperative care. Bronchopleural fistula after pneumonectomy still remains a feared complication with a high mortality rate. Especially after sleeve resection interpretation of endobronchial healing and postoperative measures of care with the help of an algorithm, may avoid anastomotic insufficiency and therefore reduced the secondary pneumonectomy rate.

Abstract:Background: Although lung-protective strategies are widely used in thoracic surgery, postoperative atelectasis can still occur. Both lung ultrasound (LUS) and diaphragmatic excursion assessments are accurate and noninvasive for bedside imaging and examination. This study aimed to test the feasibility of using LUS during the perioperative period of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and to continuously evaluate aeration changes through LUS examination and diaphragmatic excursion assessment. Methods: Between January 2019 and May 2019, data were prospectively collected from patients that were scheduled to undergo a VATS with one-lung ventilation (OLV). LUS was performed at four specific timepoints: before the induction of general anesthesia (timepoint A), 5 minutes after intubation (timepoint B), at the end of surgery (timepoint C), and 15 minutes after extubation (timepoint D). Diaphragmatic excursion assessment was performed only at the first (timepoint A) and last timepoints (timepoint D) for the use of paralytics during surgery. Results: This study included 80 consecutive patients (37 men, 43 women). Among them were patients undergoing lobectomy (14 patients; 17.5%), segmentectomy (35 patients, 43.8%), wedge resection (19 patients; 23.8%), or mediastinal tumor resection (12 patients, 15.0%). LUS was possible for all patients. As a result, LUS helped detect postoperative atelectasis in 12 patients (15.0%). Among them were 4 (33.3%) lung resection patients and 8 (66.7%) mediastinal tumor resection patients. Pneumothorax and small effusions were also diagnosed through LUS examination. There was significant aeration loss throughout the surgery from the start of induction (P<0.001). We discovered that changes in LUS scores were found to be associated with an increase of diaphragmatic excursions after assessment (Spearman's r=-0.54, P<0.001). Conclusions: LUS is feasible during all phases of the perioperative period in VATS and can facilitate the early investigation of perioperative atelectasis. Perioperative LUS and diaphragmatic excursion assessment are also feasible for the continuous assessment of aeration loss in patients undergoing VATS.
Efficacy and Safety of Platelet-Rich Plasma on Bronchopleural Fistula: A Pilot Prospective Cohort Study

Abstract:Introduction: Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates in patients undergoing pulmonary resections. Surgery, bronchoscopy, and conservative management have their limitations for small fistulas. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has regenerative properties, which might be efficient in enhancing tissue recovery and repairing small BPF. This study aimed to investigate efficacy and safety of PRP on BPF. Methods: This is a pilot prospective cohort study. Patients whose fistulas smaller than 4mm were enrolled in this study, treated with PRP under bronchoscopy and followed up at 2 weeks and 4-6 weeks after the last PRP treatment. The cure rate, improvement rate and ineffectiveness rate were investigated. The severity of respiratory symptoms was evaluated by modified Medical Research Council dyspnea scale (mMRC) and COPD Assessment Test (CAT). The recurrence of fistula, new infection and mortality rate were examined. Adverse events were documented to explore the safety profile of PRP therapy. Results: A total of 16 patients (mean age, 50.1 years) met the eligibility criteria. The median time from the first PRP treatment to the closure of the fistula was 12.0 (IQR 6.0, 21.5) days. Our findings indicate an effectiveness rate of 87.6%, with 68.8% of cure and 18.8% of improvement, along with significant improvement of respiratory symptoms evaluated by mMRC (P<0.001) and CAT (P<0.001). No recurrent of fistulas, newly developed infection, or death was observed. Adverse events of the procedure were most mild (82.6%) and temporary. Conclusions: PRP is a potential treatment for small BPF and is well tolerated.

Abstract:Abstract Background A bronchopleural fistula (BPF) occurs when an abnormal connection forms between the bronchial tubes and pleural cavity, often due to surgery, infection, trauma, radiation, or chemotherapy. The outcomes of both surgical and bronchoscopic treatments frequently prove to be unsatisfactory. Case presentation Here, we report a case of successful bronchoscopic free fat pad transplantation combined with platelet-rich plasma, effectively addressing a post-lobectomy BPF. Contrast-enhanced chest tomography revealed pleural thickening with heterogeneous consolidations over the right upper and middle lobes, indicative of destructive lung damage and bronchiectasis. The patient underwent thoracoscopic bilobectomy of the lungs. During surgery, severe adhesions and calcification of the chest wall and lung parenchyma were observed. The entire hilar structure was calcified, presenting challenges for dissection, despite the assistance of energy devices. Bronchoscopic intervention was required, during which two abdominal subcutaneous fat pads were retrieved. Conclusion This innovative approach offers promise in the management of BPF and signals potential advancements in enhancing treatment efficacy and patient recovery.

Abstract:Abstract Background Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a relatively rare complication after various types of pulmonary resection. The double-sided mushroom-shaped occluder (Amplatzer device, AD) has been gradually used for BPF blocking due to its reliable blocking effect. We have improved the existing AD implantation methods to facilitate clinical use and named the new approach Sheath-free method (SFM). The aim of the present report was to explore the reliability and advantages of the SFM in AD implantation. Methods We improved the existing implantation methods by abandoning the sheath of the AD and using the working channel of the bronchoscope to directly store or release the AD without general anesthesia, rigid bronchoscopy, fluoroscopy, or bronchography. A total of 6 patients (5 men and 1 woman, aged 66.67 ± 6.19 years [mean ± SD]) had BPF blocking and underwent the SFM in AD implantation. Results AD implantation was successfully performed in all 6 patients with the SFM, 4 persons had a successful closure of the fistula, one person died after few days and one person did not have a successful closure of the fistula. The average duration of operation was 16.17 min (16.17 ± 4.67 min [mean ± SD]). No patients died due to operation complications or BPF recurrence. The average follow-up time was 13.2 months (range 10–17 months). Conclusion We observed that the SFM for AD implantation—with accurate device positioning and a clear field of vision—is efficient and convenient. The AD is effective in BPF blocking, and could contribute to significantly improved symptoms of patients.
Complex bronchopleural fistulas: a case report

Abstract:Journal of International Medical Research, Volume 52, Issue 4, April 2024. Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a potentially fatal complication and remains a surgical challenge. Concomitant problems, such as pulmonary infection and respiratory failure, are typically the main contributors to mortality from BPF because of improper contact between the bronchial and pleural cavity. We present the case of a 75-year-old male patient with a history of right upper lobe lung cancer resection who developed complex BPFs. Following appropriate antibiotic therapy and chest tube drainage, we treated the fistulas using endobronchial valve EBV placement and local argon gas spray stimulation. Bronchoscopic treatment is the preferred method for patients who cannot tolerate a second surgery because it can help to maximize their quality of life. Our treatment method may be a useful reference for treating complex BPF.

A Treatment Protocol for Chronic Post-Pneumonectomy Empyema Associated with Bronchopleural Fistula: A Single-Centre Retrospective Study.

Abstract:Chronic post-pneumonectomy empyema (CPPE) associated with bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a potentially fatal complication and remains a surgical challenge. This study aims to propose a treatment protocol for managing this severe disease. From July 2009 to June 2021, 47 CPPE with BPF patients were treated in our department. CT scan with 3D reconstruction was used to detect BPF and to evaluate the location and volume of empyema cavity. Different surgical techniques were used to close BPFs according to they sizes. Multiple pedicled muscle flaps were chosen to fill the empyema cavity, and among them, latissimus dorsi (LD) was the mostly used flap. For cases that regional flaps were not suitable, free flaps were used. Patients were followed-up from 7.9 to 102.8 months. Forty-four patients (93.6%) healed after the operation. Closure of BPFs failed in three patients (6.4%), leading to regional infection. These patients were treated by bronchoscopic application of sealants, continuous drainage and antibiotics, and they eventually healed. Total or partial flap loss was not seen in any of the cases. Treatment protocol was proposed based on these results. CT scan with 3D reconstruction is an effective examination to evaluate pleural cavity defect and BPF. Proper technique to close the BPF and right choice of flap to fulfil the empyema cavity are the two most important key points to treat CPPE associated with BPF patients.

Abstract:Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a rare but fatal complication after pneumonectomy. When a BPF occurs late (weeks to years postoperatively), direct resealing of the bronchial stump through the primary thoracic approach is challenging due to the risks of fibrothorax and injury to the pulmonary artery stump, and the surgical outcome is generally poor. Here, we report a case of late left BPF following left pneumonectomy successfully treated using a right thoracic approach assisted by extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Abstract:BACKGROUND:Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is one of the most serious and rare postoperative complications, especially the bronchial stump fistula after lobectomy/pneumonectomy. Common treatment options include conservative medical treatment combined with surgery. However, due to the delayed healing of the fistula, the chest cavity continues to communicate with the outside world, and the patient is prone to complicated with severe thoracic infection and respiratory failure, so that the physical condition can hardly tolerate the second surgical procedure. Endoscopic treatment provides a new option for the treatment of this complication.METHODS:A case of right pulmonary squamous cell carcinoma was admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery II, Peking University Cancer Hospital in June 2016. The diagnosis and treatment was retrospectively analyzed, and the literature was reviewed.RESULTS:A 65 year old male patient was admitted to hospital because of "cough with blood in sputum for 3 months". Chest computed tomography (CT) showed soft tissue density mass shadow in the right lower lobe. A tumor could be seen in the opening of the right middle lobe and basal segment of lower lobe. Biopsy confirmed squamous cell carcinoma. Diagnosis consideration: squamous cell carcinoma of the middle and lower lobe of the right lung (cT2aN2, IIIa). Patients received gemcitabine plus cisplatin neoadjuvant chemotherapy for 2 cycles, and the effect of chemotherapy showed stable disease (SD). Four weeks after chemotherapy, the patient underwent video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) assisted right middle and lower lobectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection. On the 5th day after operation, the patient developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and was transferred to intensive care unit (ICU) again after endotracheal intubation. On the 7th day after operation, the patient developed a right intermediate trunk bronchial stump fistula, but due to ARDS, the patient's physical condition could not tolerate the second operation. Under the support of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a membrane covered, expandable, hinged stent was inserted into the intermediate trunk bronchial stump through rigid bronchoscope, and was successfully blocked. Due to no improvement in ARDS and irreversible pulmonary interstitial fibrosis, the patient received double lung transplantation successfully after systemic anti-infection treatment.CONCLUSIONS:Endoscopic implantation of covered stent is a simple, safe and effective method for closure of bronchial stump fistula. When the patient's clinical situation is not suitable for immediate surgery, endoscopic stent implantation can be used as a preferred treatment method to create opportunities for follow-up treatment.

One risk factor for BPF is radical lung resection after induction chemoradiotherapy for lung cancer. Abstract:Objectives: Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a serious and life-threatening complication. Following the advent of interventional radiology, subsequent treatment methods for BPF have gradually diversified. Therefore, this article provides an overview of the present scenario of interventional treatment and research advancements pertaining to BPF. Methods: Relevant published studies on the interventional treatment of BPF were identified from the PubMed, Sci-Hub, Google Scholar, CNKI, VIP, and Wanfang databases. The included studies better reflect the current status of and progress in interventional treatments for BPF with representativeness, reliability, and timeliness. Studies with similar and repetitive conclusions were excluded. Results: There are many different interventional treatments for BPF that can be applied in cases of BPF with different fistula diameters. Conclusion: The application of interventional procedures for bronchopleural fistula has proven to be safe, efficacious, and minimally invasive. However, the establishment of comprehensive, standardized treatment guidelines necessitates further pertinent research to attain consensus within the medical community. The evolution of novel technologies, tools, techniques, and materials specifically tailored to the interventional management of bronchopleural fistula is anticipated to be the focal point of forthcoming investigations. These advancements present promising prospects for seamless translation into clinical practice and application, thereby potentially revolutionizing patient care in this field.
