Abstract:For fractional derivatives and time-fractional differential equations, we construct a framework on the basis of the operator theory in fractional Sobolev spaces. Our framework provides a feasible extension of the classical Caputo and the Riemann-Liouville derivatives within Sobolev spaces of fractional orders including negative ones. Our approach enables a unified treatment for fractional calculus and time-fractional differential equations. We formulate initial value problems for fractional ordinary differential equations and initial boundary value problems for fractional partial differential equations to prove the well-posedness and other properties.

Abstract:Theory and method of fractional operator which is used to describe intermediate processes and critical phenomena in physics and its applications to the modern mechanics were introduced in this paper.It was pointed that the problems of classical mechanics and linear physics,such as stochastic fluctuation of turbulence velocity fields,Brown motion,memory of viscoelastic material,face the challenge of fractional operator.Applications of fractional operator in complex systems,which include solid heredity dynamics,non-Newtonian fluid mechanics,biophysics and biomechanics,fractional anomalous diffusion,stochastic walk theory and DLA theory,were discussed.The authors' researches on this area were introduced,and prospects of the subject were forecasted finally.

Abstract:Abstract Recently, fractals and fractional calculus have received much attention from researchers of various fields of science and engineering. Because the said area has been found applicable in modeling various real-world processes and phenomena. Hybrid differential equations (HDEs) play significant roles in mathematical modeling of various processes because the aforesaid equations incorporate different dynamical systems as specific cases. For instance, it is possible to model and describe non-homogeneous physical phenomena on using the said equations. Therefore, this research work is concerned with studying a class of nonlinear hybrid fractal–fractional differential equations. We develop the existence result for the qualitative study using a hybrid fixed point theorem. For the mentioned goal, a fixed point theory for the product of two operators is applied to deduce appropriate conditions for the existence of exactly one solution. Additionally, the stability result based on Ulam–Hyers is also deduced. The said stability results play an important role in numerical investigations. In addition, a numerical method based on Euler procedure is utilized to approximate the solution of the proposed problems. Various computational test problems are given to demonstrate the results. Also, using various fractal–fractional order values, several graphical presentations are given for the examples. The concerned analysis will help in investigating many real-world problems modeled using HDEs with fractal–fractional orders in the near future.

Abstract:Fractional derivatives play a very important role in modeling physical phenomena involving long-range correlation effects. However, they raise challenges of computational cost and memory storage requirements when solved using current well developed numerical methods. In this paper, the differential operator multiplication method is proposed to address the issues by considering a reaction–advection–diffusion equation with a fractional derivative in time. The linear fractional differential equation is transformed into an integer order differential equation by the proposed method, which can fundamentally fix the aforementioned issues for select fractional differential equations. In such a transform, special attention should be paid to the initial conditions for the resulting differential equation of higher integer order. Through numerical experiments, we verify the proposed method for both fractional ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations.
Numerical Simulations for Fractional Differential Equations of Higher Order and a Wright-Type Transformation

Abstract:In this work, a new relationship is established between the solutions of higher fractional differential equations and a Wright-type transformation. Solutions could be interpreted as expected values of functions in a random time process. As applications, we solve the fractional beam equation, fractional electric circuits with special functions as external sources, and derive dAlemberts formula for the fractional wave equation. Due to this relationship, we present two methods for simulating solutions of fractional differential equations. The two approaches use the interpretation of the Caputo derivative of a function as a Wright-type transformation of the higher derivative of the function. In the first approach, we use the Runge-Kutta method of hybrid orders 4 and 5 to solve ordinary differential equations combined with the Monte Carlo integration to conduct the Wrighttype transformation. The second method uses a feedforward neural network to simulate the fractional differential equation.

Abstract:Abstract The fractional calculus gains wide applications nowadays in all fields. The implementation of the fractional differential operators on the partial differential equations make it more reality. The space-time-fractional differential equations mathematically model physical, biological, medical, etc., and their solutions explain the real life problems more than the classical partial differential equations. Some new published papers on this field made many treatments and approximations to the fractional differential operators making them loose their physical and mathematical meanings. In this paper, I answer the question: why do we need the fractional operators?. I give brief notes on some important fractional differential operators and their Grünwald-Letnikov schemes. I implement the Caputo time fractional operator and the Riesz-Feller operator on some physical and stochastic problems. I give some numerical results to some physical models to show the efficiency of the Grünwald-Letnikov scheme and its shifted formulae. Abstract:The fractional differential equations involving different types of fractional derivatives are currently used in many fields of science and engineering. Therefore, the first purpose of this study is to investigate the qualitative properties including the stability, asymptotic stability, as well as Mittag–Leffler stability of solutions of fractional differential equations with the new generalized Hattaf fractional derivative, which encompasses the popular forms of fractional derivatives with non-singular kernels. These qualitative properties are obtained by constructing a suitable Lyapunov function. Furthermore, the second aim is to develop a new numerical method in order to approximate the solutions of such types of equations. The developed method recovers the classical Euler numerical scheme for ordinary differential equations. Finally, the obtained analytical and numerical results are applied to a biological nonlinear system arising from epidemiology.

Abstract:Λ-fractional differential equations are discussed since they exhibit non-locality and accuracy. Fractional derivatives form fractional differential equations, considered as describing better various physical phenomena. Nevertheless, fractional derivatives fail to satisfy the prerequisites of differential topology for generating differentials. Hence, all the sources of generating fractional differential equations, such as fractional differential geometry, the fractional calculus of variations, and the fractional field theory, are not mathematically accurate. Nevertheless, the Λ-fractional derivative conforms to all prerequisites demanded by differential topology. Hence, the various mathematical forms, including those derivatives, do not lack the mathematical accuracy or defects of the well-known fractional derivatives. A summary of the Λ-fractional analysis is presented with its influence on the sources of differential equations, such as fractional differential geometry, field theorems, and calculus of variations. Λ-fractional ordinary and partial differential equations will be discussed.

Abstract:This study introduces an indirect approach to find the solutions of the fractional Bessel differential equation using fractional Bernoulli functions and Caputo's fractional derivative. This method transforms the problem into a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. The existence and uniqueness of the solution for the problem are proved. Moreover, operational matrices for fractional derivatives and time‐fractional integration are constructed. These operational matrices, together with the least square approximation technique, are used to reduce the problem to a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. Newton's iterative method is applied to solve the nonlinear algebraic equations. The convergence analysis and the error estimate of the proposed method are also provided. This study demonstrates the effectiveness and the significance of the proposed method for obtaining approximate fractional solutions and for researchers in related fields or specific areas. Four examples are given to illustrate the accuracy and the performance of the proposed method.

Abstract:Generalized fractional operators are generalization of the Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional derivatives, which include Erdélyi-Kober and Hadamard operators as their special cases. Due to the complicated form of the kernel and weight function in the convolution, it is even harder to design high order numerical methods for differential equations with generalized fractional operators. In this paper, we first derive analytical formulas for α-th (α>0) order fractional derivative of Jacobi polynomials. Spectral approximation method is proposed for generalized fractional operators through a variable transform technique. Then, operational matrices for generalized fractional operators are derived and spectral collocation methods are proposed for differential and integral equations with different fractional operators. At last, the method is applied to generalized fractional ordinary differential equation and Hadamard-type integral equations, and exponential convergence of the method is confirmed. Further, based on the proposed method, a kind of generalized grey Brownian motion is simulated and properties of the model are analyzed.

Abstract:The exact solution to fractional-order partial differential equations is usually quite difficult to achieve. Semi-analytical or numerical methods are thought to be suitable options for dealing with such complex problems. To elaborate on this concept, we used the decomposition method along with natural transformation to discover the solution to a system of fractional-order partial differential equations. Using certain examples, the efficacy of the proposed technique is demonstrated. The exact and approximate solutions were shown to be in close contact in the graphical representation of the obtained results. We also examine whether the proposed method can achieve a quick convergence with a minimal number of calculations. The present approaches are also used to calculate solutions in various fractional orders. It has been proven that fractional-order solutions converge to integer-order solutions to problems. The current technique can be modified for various fractional-order problems due to its simple and straightforward implementation.

Abstract:This paper devoted to investigation on the system of fractional differential equations with delay. We use the Schauder fixed point theorem to prove the existence of solution for this system. In addition, we employ the hybrid functions of general block-pulse functions and the Legendre polynomials to solve our problem. Finally, we study the fractional order of the financial delay system, to illustrate the efficiency of the method.

Abstract:We investigate evolution equations for anomalous diffusion employing fractional derivatives in space and time. Linkage between the space-time variables leads to a new type of fractional derivative operator. Fractional diffusion equations account for typical "anomalous" features which are observed in many systems, e.g. in the case of dispersive transport in amorphous semiconductors, liquid crystals, polymers, proteins and biosystems. In contrast to Gaussian diffusion, fractional diffusion is related to LEVY STABLE NON-GAUSSIAN PROCESSES. The typical features of the processes are heavy tails of probability density distributions. Conservation laws in relation to fractional operators are discussed. The next objective of this paper is an application of main rules of fractional calculus, fractional Laplacians, factorization of the Helmholtz equation to obtain four pairs of fractional eigenfunctions allowing to construct a solution to the well known half-plane diffraction problems. Factorizing the Leontovich-Fock equation, (parabolic wave equation-PWE), we determine semi-differential fractional solutions, which allow us to find paraxial solutions for given beam boundary conditions.

A class of fractional differential equations via power non-local and non-singular kernels: existence, uniqueness and numerical approximations

Abstract:We prove a useful formula and new properties for the recently introduced power fractional calculus with non-local and non-singular kernels. In particular, we prove a new version of Gronwall's inequality involving the power fractional integral; and we establish existence and uniqueness results for nonlinear power fractional differential equations using fixed point techniques. Moreover, based on Lagrange polynomial interpolation, we develop a new explicit numerical method in order to approximate the solutions of a rich class of fractional differential equations. The approximation error of the proposed numerical scheme is analyzed. For illustrative purposes, we apply our method to a fractional differential equation for which the exact solution is computed, as well as to a nonlinear problem for which no exact solution is known. The numerical simulations show that the proposed method is very efficient, highly accurate and converges quickly.

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems

Abstract:Some new uniqueness theorems are proposed and a flexible, efficient numerical algorithm is formulated and analysed for convergence and numerically verified for nonlinear fractal-fractional differential equations with Mittag-Leffler kernel. Under some generalized conditions which admit a wider class of functions than the standard Lipschitz condition, the uniqueness of solution is established. By linearly interpolating between grid points, we design a numerical algorithm. Unlike existing methods, our constructed method avoids any form of grid restriction, uses minimal computation of special functions and is second order accurate under appropriate smoothness conditions. The convergence of the method is fully analysed, and numerical test cases are presented to verify the convergence result.

Abstract:The L-fractional derivative is defined as a certain normalization of the well-known Caputo derivative, so alternative properties hold: smoothness and finite slope at the origin for the solution, velocity units for the vector field, and a differential form associated to the system. We develop a theory of this fractional derivative as follows. We prove a fundamental theorem of calculus. We deal with linear systems of autonomous homogeneous parts, which correspond to Caputo linear equations of non-autonomous homogeneous parts. The associated L-fractional integral operator, which is closely related to the beta function and the beta probability distribution, and the estimates for its norm in the Banach space of continuous functions play a key role in the development. The explicit solution is built by means of Picard's iterations from a Mittag–Leffler-type function that mimics the standard exponential function. In the second part of the paper, we address autonomous linear equations of sequential type. We start with sequential order two and then move to arbitrary order by dealing with a power series. The classical theory of linear ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients is generalized, and we establish an analog of the method of undetermined coefficients. The last part of the paper is concerned with sequential linear equations of analytic coefficients and order two.

For example, in the last three fields, some important considerations such as modelling, curve fitting, filtering, pattern recognition, edge detection, identification, stability, controllability, observability and robustness are now linked to long-range dependence phenomena. Similar progress has been made in other fields listed here. The scope of the book is thus to present the state of the art in the study of fractional systems and the application of fractional differentiation. As this volume covers recent applications of fractional calculus, it will be of interest to engineers, scientists, and applied mathematicians.
