Abstract:In the existing analytical solutions for tunnels, the tectonic stress boundary conditions caused by faults are often overlooked. This study presents an analytical solution that considers the tectonic stress field in the surrounding rock of a near-fault tunnel, taking into account the crack model of faults. The tectonic stress field is derived, and the regularized boundary conditions are obtained to determine the principal stress states and the range of field. The stress constants of the boundary conditions are calculated using the superposition principle. To effectively solve the analytical functions, the Riemann–Hilbert method is adopted, incorporating the tectonic stress boundary condition. Subsequently, an analytical solution for the stress concentration near the tunnel is obtained and validated through numerical simulations. The influence of fault angles and distances on the degree of stress concentration around the tunnel is analyzed. The results reveal that the stress concentration without faults follows a similar trend as the scaling rate of the tunnel. However, due to the influence of tectonic stress, the stress concentration degree in different regions exhibits asynchronous variations with increasing fault dips. Moreover, the stress concentration degree decreases with increasing distances in each region of the tunnel boundary.
